  1. Miller still does this. Watch him when he marks the ball - even if he's right inside the forward 50, he will go to handball it off. It drives me insane that we have a 'forward' taking up a spot in the forward line who either wants to handball it off or cannot consistently kick straight. It might sound a bit contradictory 'cos I'm frusturated that he goes to pass it off too often but then when he does have a go he quite often misses it, but I'm just at a bit of a loss with him 'cos I would love for him to get into some good form, as would we all. What does Bailey/Miller/whoever need to do to help Miller restore some confidence?
  2. He kept popping up just at the right time. By the way, is it Chain-nee or Chee-nee? Not all that important as we call him Ron (after Ron Weasley), but just curious
  3. I don't know if Bate's 'credits in the bank' are enough to keep him in after today. So frusturating to watch as I'm sure I can recall a time when I was singing his praises. I really believe he's got the goods in there somewhere (great body shape for starters) but he's skating on super thin ice. I'd maybe just replace Green with JMac if he's ready. See how that goes and let the winning side gel together a bit more. Bartram probably doesn't deserve to be there but I don't know.. maybe Bailey will have a re-shuffle with Green gone and something will click into place...I'm being very optimistic!
  4. Jetta was super today! He looks so much like Leon Davis. The thought of just Jetta, Davey and Wonnaemirri in the same team is quite good!
  5. Ha, yeah I'm with you! All this talk of McLean and for the life of me, I cannot understand why?? HE CAN'T EVEN RUN FOR GOD'S SAKE. I'll get murdered if I say what I really think of him (rhymes with 'slogan') but there's about 4 or 5 others that I would have in front of him for sure. Green, in spite of his dabbling in other team's ponds late last year/early this year, would be such a sensational captain. His courage on the field is like none other. I'm proud to have Junior as captain but I would be even more proud to have Green.
  6. Thanks for that, CB. What is Newton's problem?! He could be the answer to our prayers. We need a forward now MORE THAN EVER. The way I see it, the next few weeks (3 - 4) are make or break for him (...although I fear he is contracted for a bit more than that!?) CB or anyone that was at the game, does he actually show any skill or promise at all or still just attitude and arrogance?
  7. Can someone clarify for me if Sylvia (and anyone for that matter) would get paid the same if he continues to cruise through with a couple of kicks and a thousand handballs each game or if he were to kick 10 goals and rack up 30 possessions?
  8. Warnock and Frawley - tie for BOG for us IMO they should feel VERY proud of themselves after their performances today. I admit I used to get so frusturated with Frawley and struggled to see how he could possibly improve, but I've done the biggest flip of opinions and rate him very highly. He's composed under pressure, consistently provides a good contest and I feel, with Warnock, is doing a terrific job down in the backline. Massssssive improvements. I think it was Frawley who grabbed Cheney around the shoulder and gave him a couple of words of advice after he kicked it straight to a Pie which resulted in a goal. Hope he can keep this up for many years. I'm at a complete loss with Bruce and Sylvia. Hungover again were we Col?
  9. Nugget Jones and for anyone else who cares, Bell is still a month away. He's keeping up his fitness but obviously can't do too much strength work. Wouldn't expect to see him anytime soon.
  10. I remember a good few years ago they had it at Luna Park. Andrew Leoncelli went on the Scenic Railway with me
  11. If Bruce is captain, we will be the laughing stock of the league. I'll be furious, as will the majority of supporters. Can't see Bailey giving it to Brock, so give it to Bradley Miller!
  12. If Green goes, I'll be so shattered. I had him all lined up for captain next year . Yze, White - see ya later. It won't pain me to see either of these two play in another jumper (maybe White just a bit..), but to see Green playing for Collingwood or Sydney would be awful!
  13. Go Cale Morton in his first year and polls better than um.. pretty much everyone.
  14. Just saw Dutchy in Glenferrie Road..
  15. I too went to the Aftermatch, as I always do. Pretty good turn out in the end considering half the crowd left when we were told it would be another hour until players arrived.. No offence to the club as I thought it was a great idea to have a celebration to wrap up the year (and what a year), but pony rides, break dancing lessons and a jumping castle might keep children under 10 occupied for an hour but for the rest of us, the wait was awful, not to mention freeeeeeeeezing. As for the 'presentation' itself, Brad Miller.. - such a confident speaker. Poor Wonaemirri is so shy and was only made more embarassed when Connelly asked him if he had a girl on the go, and if that's why he was wearing his suit! Thought Grimes spoke well for his first time up. White, Holland and Yze all said "life goes on". Bailey looked grumpy and disinterested during the interviews from where I was sitting, understandably so after a shocking performance to cap off a shocking year. Also, I think we should get a replacement for whoever dresses up in the Demon costume. Talk about attention-seeking freak. He sat there on stage during the interviews waving his arms in the air trying to get attention, but was rightfully ignored. As previously said, it was so good of the players to come, those injured and those who played yesterday. They were probably all itching for a drink, although I'm not entirely convinced that they didn't all go get wasted on Saturday night, based on the performance they gave the following afternoon.
  16. How about we just don't speculate the reasons behind someone attempting to end their life? Yeahhhhh good idea.
  17. Saw Rhys on Thursday night with some friends getting knocked back from a nightclub in Hawthorn, but I thought it was cos he was too old and that particular crowd is pretty young.. maybe it's cos he was too drunk.
  18. Hutchy is an absolute idiot.. trying to defend Alan Didak after a number of fairly serious incidents. He is a disgrace. I'm not sure about Collingwood's decision to let Shaw play, considering it be a bigger punishment than being suspended and dropped to the 2's. I think Caro is right in saying that it would be worse for any player to be told they wouldn't be playing in a game with such importance, in terms of getting them into the finals.
  19. I might place my very first bet on this game.
  20. Ah yes, I was thinking the same watching on Saturday with Holland just a few seats away from me. I thought Bailey was planning on testing out pretty much everyone in the coming weeks to see if they're worth keeping or not? Even Meesen. Did anyone else hear that? I'm not sure what to do with Wonaemirri after Saturday's game. He'd just come back from a week off and I'd hate for him to have another game like that and lose confidence. First Friday night game at the G might fire him up.
  21. Mark Jamar, I feel, is falling into the same basket as the Ben Hollands and the Simon Godfreys of the world. He has all the effort but just lacks the skills to cut it as a good footballer who will really positively impact the future of our club. Everytime I watch him play, I just think to myself that he seems like the kind of player who would miss a shot at goal from 10m out in front in a Grand Final and we'd end up losing by a point. IMO He's not part of our future.. not a successful one anyway.
  22. That tackle in the first or second quarter was awesome.. you don't see Belly doing that too often but he did it perfectly and was rewarded.. thank god. Saw a bit of grunt in him that I don't think I've really seen before so I'm not sure if he's been warned after some average performances, but I thought he played quite well today. As for Morton, I still get scared he's going to break when he gets crunched in a tackle. But his last quarter today and his first quarter against Freo in particular have got me verrrrry excited about him.
  23. That was so infuriating. The inconsistencies with things such as hands in the back (Dustin Fletcher- I am looking at you), throwing the ball and head-high contact in particular were ridiculous. Even the Bombers supporters behind us couldn't believe how pathetic the umpiring was. It honestly does make you not want to come back. It's hard enough having a young, inexperienced team with no full forward and at times, the scratchiest game plan going around, and then to be massacred by the umpires like that is just so frusturating as there is really nothing we can do about it.
  24. Buckley was muchhhhh better than last week IMO. Not sure whether he played on less or ran a bit faster and didn't get caught as often but he actually impressed me today... which is a big deal cos last week I was calling for his head. Loved when Sylvia and can't remember who else made pathetic, soft attempts at tackling an Essendon player and then enters Green to show them how it's done, throwing the Bomber and the ball over the boundary line. Reaffirmed in my mind that Green is the absolute man for the job for next year. Sylvia needs to actually put his head up when he kicks the ball so he can find a target instead of booting it directly to the opposition. Did this about 4 or 5 times today and soured what I thought was a pretty good performance. Does anyone know/did they see if Bailey gave Sylvia a spray at 1/4 time? Just thought when he marked the ball in the 2nd quarter for his first goal he sorta showed it off a bit as if to be like 'Look Bailey, I've got it'.. I don't know. Could be wrong. And can we really attack players for handballing it so often..? Someone is bloody telling them to do it.
  25. Hmmmm.. big shoes to fill. I'd be very happy if it was Miller or Green. Can't split the two as there is so much I like about them both. I'll be pised if it's Brock.
