  1. Sickening end to the season but congrats to City. Dont buy their domanance though considering they equalled points when United have no midfield and serious injuries all the way through the season

CL final was even more sickening and feel really bad for Spurs

I reckon Next season will be determined by how clubs spend this summer. Looking forward to euros though

  2. Great to see Windies finally putting up a fight in world cricket. May be even stronger if Gayle returns to the squad now that his baseball tournament is over

As for australia, there should be no doubt over Pattinson, hes had the best coaching there is at the bushrangers, doesnt matter who australias coach is

  3. Super post RPFC , hard to have a go at a kid for doing his job assigned to him, hes at the early stage at his career and might as well play him now where hes going to get the ball the most and get a feel for the footy. He showed last year in a few games he can play in a few positions including forward and dominated the Tigers and Freo, you dont lose that overnight and I believe jack isnt one of the problems at the club despite how much were making him out to be

  4. Agree with most here but whats strange is that last season his kicking was top notch, it seams to be this year its taken a backwards step. His miss on Sydney meant we were a goal down insteand of a goal up and the game was over (which is an indication of where were at - but thats for another topic)

However take nothing away from him, hasnt even played a full season yet and hes one of the very few reasons to watch the club these days. Already has 5 nominations for mark of the year

  5. A caller on SEN made a brilliant point tonight on the show. Melbourne offering GC or GWS a player to not go in for Viney is called draft tampering, but those clubs nominating a player they have no intention of ever taking just to force us to take him early isnt?

As Garry Lyon pointed out, theres a legal way of doing it and its called draft week, so if we do it by legal means how can the AFL do anything about it?

  6. Cant see why he would want to stay. Went very backwards this season, cant play at ground level and doesnt have a second effort. A good last game vs Port in a loss isnt enough IMO, unless hes happy at casey

  7. Still developing but certainly had a breakout year. It started with the West Coast game in Perth earlier in the year where he showed what he can do and has taken a lot of big marks this season. Had a very good season, was brilliant in the losses to Carlton and Collingwood, carried us in that 3rd quarter vs Richmond when we won, and generally just stood out the way weve wanted to all season. One of the few that actually turned up after round 19 as well. I couldnt be more pleased for him with the way the season went, I remember the Carlton game at the end of the year it was a case of either having him dominate up forward but we had no one to help the defence, or play him in defence and have no one to kick the ball to up forward, and with other players lifting around him, he can become an amazing player. One big tall to play with him and utilise his skills because he is a special player and will be for a long time

  8. Even though much of this thread is directed towards securing bigger names, I'd be interested to know what Neeld thinks about Simon Buckley.

I was disappointed that we let Buckley go - he was pretty unlucky in his final year with injuries. Always showed a bit - and I liked the fact that he grew up a Demon.

    Views?

As an aside, I would like to see the MFC get a lot better at developing 'recycled' players - clubs like the Swans, the Saints, the Pies and a few others are masters of it.

    THIS!

Was my favourite Dee before his knees gave way but if he can get games for Collingwood he can for us, at times he seamed to be the only one who wanted ball for us and we'll need that

  9. I like that hes becomming big in the media. Im mates with quite a few Brighton Grammar boys so it makes sense hes someone that both the club and media want in the limelight, he speaks very well too. One of my friends is best friends with his GF (McKinnon girl) so the past week all the brownlow shopping and stuff that went on, its amazing how much more the wags get up for tonight!

  10. "Eff off! Who do you think you are?" is what I'd say. The fact is, Mark Neeld has no idea who these players really are and how to motivate them. Until he does, I'd be careful of making such broad statements.

Any player who says that to a coach whether new or old is out the door and rightly so. If we dont let the coach do things his way and give him rains at the club well just end up where we were this season
