  1. Agr picked neeld's exit - bind freddy could have guessed

picked Roos early and first - potentially solid.

Jake Lever a lock at pick 3 - fail

Dangerfield and Kennedy are dees - fail

Trading pick 3 and 10 now - not looking good.

GNF didnt just pick Neelds exit, he said when it will happen

He gave an exact play by play with Roos from around 6 months before it happened. He called absolutely everything that happened long before anyone else, including the media

GNF never ever said Lever at pick 3. In fact he said the opposite. He claimed Roos rates him and would like to trade for a later first rounder to get him but that was it. In fact here is his EXACT post:

Also not sure that Roos does not rate Patrrica, I think there is an expectation he will go 1. I don't expect Roos to go for Lever over maccatrin. But I don't know this. All I know is that Roos rates Lever, perhaps not as high as 3. Time will tell. Personally I would go for maccatrin assuming Patrrica is gone. Brayshaw a lock in

So he got that one spot on

And finally he never ever said Dangerfield and Kennedy are dees. Hes said were working hard to get deals for them. Melbourne tried hard for Danger last year but obviously didnt happen. GNF even said the deal died when we could no longer trade Trengove which was completely unexpected

By this logic youre saying he has said Prestia will 100% be a dee when in reality is he said Melbourne are working hard to make it happen

Whether he is right or wrong is also irrelevant when you consider some of the abuse given to him when he makes a post. Everyone can be wrong and things change. To abuse someone for that is so childish you would wonder what some grown men are doing on a message board

Id take the one or two things hes wrong about to keep hearing about the good stuff about the club like getting Roos or finding out who we are targeting. If people interpret him telling us who we are working on as "were 100% getting" then hes not the problem

Keep posting GNF, Appreciate the updates

  2. There is no doubt that Roos is pizzed off that Howe is demanding far more than what he is worth. Think he even leaked that to Slobbo a couple of weeks ago on AFL 360, He won't be held to ransom with a guy that finishes ninth in the Bluey.

Except all hes asking for is the apparent contract were about t give Melksham. So I'd say his demands are fair, and hes annoyed were giving that contract so Melksham yet not talking to him. I know which one I'd want

  3. Say goodbye to Petracca.

GWS have 4, 6 and 7. They will get pick 1.

What a great year to have 1.

Dogs fans will be in heaven. Their first pick and a 29 year old great player with a back problem, for last year's number 1 and the KPF they have been screaming out for.

They also have a great bunch of kids.

Its not that good of a year to have pick 1

Petracca is better than the rest of the draft but hes no stand out #1

  4. Bit reluctant to bag a bloke with depression issues, but this whole business leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

Surely one of the triggers of depression would be guilt?

If somebody paid me a fortune and I gave them nothing in return, I'd be feeling pretty guilty, and if I had the chance, I'd feel ethically obliged to do what I could to repay them: i.e., if I really felt well enough to play football, I'd train my arse off over summer and try to make a contribution to the team next year.

He's a bloody talented footballer. As it stands, he may well be unleashing those talents upon us in a few months.

People like Mitch, who have the unbelievable talent and ability to absolutely **** over those around them to get whatever they wont, dont ever experience this feeling of guilt.

He didnt at Brisbane, Freo and nor will he for us

  5. I dont doubt the OP because hes had some very good info in the past. Cant blame a guy for passing on what he knows

But my doubts about the deal revolve around the pick 39 on Lumumba and getting nothing for Clark

Didnt everyone today say that Varcoe has gone to Collingwood and its just a 3 way trade?

Somewhere along the line there will be disappointment, I really hope the OP is correct, and if hes not, people on here behave in an acceptable manners because as he said, hes a regular here and always given us good info

  6. It's been a bad day for the MFC, the disappointment and trade setback is significant. I understand that some will take this disappoint out on those who offered hope. This is natural. However, all is not lost. Let's see what Roos pulls out of the hat in the coming days.

I note that the same people who have abused me (not that I care) are the same who smashed me for six months when I announced the absolute arrival of Roos in May 2013. Life is too short, we all love our club and yearn success. We are all on the same team. Personally despite my reservations on FA I remain optimistic, the most optimistic I have been since 2006.

Let's hope tomorrow is a better day for our great club.

GNF, Thanks for your posts and keeping us updated this TP. Hope you realise some of us appreciate it

Its unfortunate what happened this period, it looks like Roos had a good plan in mind and we were hit with two serious set backs we couldnt foresee, with Clark turning into what Brisbane and Freo told us he was all along, and then JT's horrible news this morning

Im hoping either way Roos is able to pull something off, or go to draft with 2 and 3, but either way I back him

  7. Secondly wish people would get behind the club. Were losing picks 2 and 3, a gamble, were not losing JPK, we are GETTING him. Watt, Toumpas, Trengove, etc etc, these are the players you are losing. No guarantee with them, and we should know all about that

However most importantly, this is a brownlow favourite every year. A grand finalist every year.Everyone says we dont have A-Graders, well here is one, and to get him on our position you do what you can. If we are going to start fighting against the big team bias that comes with FA, and fight against the dis-equalisation of FA, we need to do what we can to get the guys like Kennedy

Players like Kennedy are what will keep players like Frawley and Jones at this club. Players like Kennedy are what attracts the players like Dangerfield to the club. We dont get these guys any other way. Its time we started making things happen for ourselves

It looks like we had a better plan to get him, and after that fell through, Roos had a decision to make. And he decided againt crying about the set backs of clark and trengove, and go out and do it himself.

    Lets hope this is true

  8. Robbo is a bogan who struggles with English but hes 100% spot on about pick 2

Buntine and Bugg are not worthy of that tag.

Id be alot more excited about Kelly/Aish than Buntine Bugg.

Time for the club to stand up and not be walked on. Either get what you want for it or take it to the draft

  9. While that does make sense....

What you'd actually need to do is go through every single pick from pick 20 and above for the last few years and then do some analysis of how many you'd pick.

Just to name a few: Bastinac, Carlisle, Mitch Duncan, Gunston, Zaka, Beams, Hannebery, Motlop, Sloane...

That's just from 2 drafts. So a pick 20 gives you the OPPORTUNITY to find one of them.

Except its melbourne. Were 100% guaranteed to pick the Hislops, nottes and pitts than the Sloanes Hanneberys or Zaka etc

And even if we do get the sloanes, we turn them into the pitts

  10. Dear Dylan

Melbourne Football Club is pleased to offer you a 5 year $500,000 a year (total $2.5million) offer to join us as we embark on re-energizing our club. With Paul Roos leadership, you will form a vital part of a new midfield, alongside Nathan Jones, Jack Viney, Jimmy Toumpas and Jack Trengove. You will play footy on the might MCG, and help us rise once more to excite our loyal supporters.

The Melbourne Football Club would see you as a future leader and a key part of our future.

    Peter Jackson

(Dylan Shiel in exchange for MFC pick 2)

If only our club had this conviction.

Make a stand with pick 2 , get guys like this or take it to draft

  11. I said from the minute we put 2 on the table that clubs would walk on us and this is letting the other joke of the competition walk all over us

This is a joke trade if we accept it. In some circumstances its okay, but not in ours. If were going to give away pick 2, it either needs to be for a young absolute star, or for shiel who will be a star. Bugg and Buntine are not worth the pick 2 end of.
And theyre not what we need either. Melbourne said they want a star with the pick and its time to stick to our guns

If we dont get what we want then take it to the draft. Dont let other teams see us as a joke all the time.

Time to stand up as a football club

Id be bitterly disappointed with the club if we accepted this deal

  12. And that Tippet decision could be the worst of the year if it wasnt topped by the Clisby one a few minutes earlier.

We were on top, the final quarter we kicked 5 goals to 3 and their 3 came in that 2 minute spell after that decision.

He took on McDonald, spun around, dropped the ball and it was given. Its unexplainable

  13. The application of the holding the ball rule yesterday was probably the worst Ive ever seen. What made it so sickening was that they were so inconsitent within 5 minutes of every decision

The howe one given. watts given (1st quarter)

    jack and tippet not given

bolton not given, one against bird not given. it was was just so disgraceful to watch. it was sad to watch

Dont even get me started on the Clisby decision. Why does the AFL need to come out and say sorry and issue an apology to a mistake made when its against Geelong or Sydney but suddenly when its Melbourne nothing needs to be said? Dont upset the big boys

  14. Forgive me if im wrong but last year teams traded FA's to avoid coping any compensation penalties (Like Port with Monfries. they lost 2 players to FA and didnt want less compensation by picking up Monfries so they traded for him)

As for Sylvia, how people want him to leave is beyond me. Hes been putting up good numbers in one of the worst sides in AFL history, our history of getting rid of senior players is already disgraceful, we have a shocking midfield, and we want to get rid of one of our only few mature age players?

Id like to keep him, and we really need to. There is no benefit to letting him go

  15. The ONLY thing that gets me is our insinstence of trading the new first round draft picks we got this year. We have brought players in who can bring in that winning culture, they might not themselves be A-graders but between them they have played in 5 grand finals, which is valuable. However weve got rid of 3,13 and 20 ( you can exclude 3 because it was used on a good young player) and have basically ended up with 4 and Viney. I have no complaints there but it was obvious from the beginning we were willing to trade picks which set the tone for clubs to come in and shaft us
