Soft flogs won't like this comment, and Lord knows that there's many soft flogs that follow Melbourne (I stand near them in the MCC members), but I can say that in over 30 years this insipid club has givem ne absolutely nothing. That's right, nothing. Nothing at all. I know that some on here are satisfied with the odd win, or finals appearance, but that does sweet FA for me. I suppose that I'm meant to be grateful when they're making the odd token finals appearance ? This. Club. Gives. Me. Nothing -
Lame reply. Contribute or STFU.

He was 34 and it was the right decision. In fact, Bailey has been sensational for our list management. He's a great manager, or second in command, but he's not a great senior coach. Mind you, he's got terrible leaders at his disposal. Davey, Moloney, Sylvia, Green are simply not A graders.

You're a cheer leader of anything red and blue, so come on Bob, cheer everyone up. Maybe you can deliver the obvious on a couple of issues.

It's never been more important to try and stop the ball leaving your forward 50 so I do agree with a couple of others that have said Petterd needs to work on the defensive side of his game. I don't consider him a "small" forward as someone alluded to, but more a mid size forward, especially with his marking capabilities. I really like Petterd as a player. I love his courage and as with Dunn he has some x factor. I hope he takes his game to a level that keeps Dunn out, because Dunn is definitely his main rival. It's a tough gig playing as a mid size forward when you can't rotate through the midfield. Just ask Brent Macaffer who's a similar type player that played in both Grand Finals last year, but right now can't get a game at the Filth.

How can I prove you wrong ? If you're right the club is run by kneejerk reacting lamentable lemmings. I have enough faith that those in command are not. My theory is that Watts was very close to being dropped, but they thought that a quarter, or so, against the GC would be good for him. I also believe that there was consideration given to the fact that interstate trips help bond young players.

I like you. You make me half smile. -
It's an ill-thought theory, which would make those leading our club lamentable lemmings.
-
So our club is now making match committee decisions based on media speculation ?

Direct yourself ... EDIT: I'll be charitable on Easter Sunday. Post #27 on this thread.

I have.

Yes.

I subscribe to Mick Malthouse's theory. He doesn't believe in making out of form, or low on confidence players the sub as it only excerbates their mindset. I'd rather they play a game at Casey than sit as the twenty second player in a green top. In a nutshell there are two main reasons: getting a player back into form won't be helped by sitting on the bench for 3 quarters; and you want your sub to give you something when they come on, and an out of form player is less likely to provide that momentum.
-
Agreed, but who is suggesting that ? You won't form a definitive conclusion until after a discussion/s.

Notsureifserious.

He mentioned that they choose the sub based on form. He and they are wrong.

I was there and remember that game very well. Another false dawn unfortunately.

Do you really believe that the coach or admin wanted to win, or that the coach actually coached to win ? If so I'm astonished, because you seem reasonably intelligent. -

Tom doesn't drink, but I don't claim that he's prudish or that he's overly concerned by the drinking culture (although I do believe that he thinks the drinking is excessive). And I'm not suggesting that he doesn't love the Dees, because I've been told that he's very happy. What I'm saying is that he cut short his trip to China not only because of a family illness, but also because he didn't enjoy the environment, which was in part the excessive drinking. I feel like I need to spoon feed you every granule of information for you to completely understand what's intended. Improve your cognitive abilities. -

I know what she wrote and I know what she was inferring. As I said, please yourself. Maybe she'd heard that he was disappointed in the quality of the local dim sims when she said he "clearly wasn't enjoying the end of season junket" ? I'll back my information over your couple of randoms. "thumbs up" -
The bottom line is that Melbourne officials would be derelict in their duty if they didn't sound out Malthouse (and Roos) before they recommit to Bailey. They may find that Malthouse is interested but decide to stick with Bailey, but find out they must.

Believe what you want pal, but even the dimwitted would raise an eyebrow when a poster out of the blue says that a player wasn't comfortable in a particuar environment, i.e a "[censored]-up" and low and behold a journalist infers a player clearly wasn't enjoying a junket. Look, I know what I know and most posters would accept that I don't have a history of gilding the lily or posting uninformed guesswork. Naturally, you can please yourself. It makes zero difference to me.
