  1. We beat 3 of those sides and lost to the other by 2 points. Apart from the Dogs, there's not a great deal in it.
  2. The consensus amongst commentators (apart from that stroker Duh-Wayne) is that the MFC have the most promising set of youngsters. I reckon Jesse knows this too.
  3. Generational player.
  4. Maybe I'm just choosing to see it that way.
  5. Paraphrased. Same thing.
  6. Playing finals next year is almost a prerequisite in keeping Hogan at MFC. The Dockers will lose some big name veterans and begin to slide in 2017 thereby losing some appeal. The Eagles will be around the mark for the next 5 years based in their average list age and pose a bigger risk, although with Kennedy and Darling they are very healthy for power forwards. MFC must show vast improvement next year to keep the Hulk.
  7. Jesse says he's a pretty average golfer in that interview as well. Let's hope he likens the MFC to his golf game. Generally ordinary, sometimes downright terrible and highly frustrating but every now and then you hit a sweet shot and it keeps you interested enough to persist.
  8. Poor choice of avatar, fella. Seriously.
  9. . More inside 50's would do wonders for his chances. As a team, we've shown we can convert off the lesser entries compared to our opposition. Hopefully the higher scoring theme continues in the run home.
  10. I think we should back-pay him with an apology for only offering $500k. Seriously though, it might all come down to team balance and success over the duration. Fingers crossed that we'll have a real issue in managing the cap in the years to come due to all of or stars.
  11. Hogan is a significantly better player than Reiwoldt.
  12. I think he was the only player with the 'mark of respect arm band' on so I'm imagining it was personal and not club related.
  13. We had a poor game but last week was a great win. We'll be a better team than North next year. Granted that we need to be a much improved team next year to keep the Hulk.
  14. I love watching this kid play footy in a Melbourne jumper.
  15. I don't think Viney made as much of an impact on the game as Brayshaw has in their respective first year thus far. They're both blessed with leadership traits and an agressive playing style.
  16. A co-captaincy of Viney and Brayshaw after Jonesy's tenure ends seems a reasonable proposition.
  17. Agree with all of that however, my point was that if he remains consistent, as does Cripps, it will be the eye-catching games that get Jesse over the line.
  18. I think the Hulk will need a few more games where he clearly dominates and kicks more than 2 or 3 goals. There's no doubting he's a rising star but I reckon the criteria will be heavily biased toward consistency. A few real eye-catching performances will help Jesse a lot. And let's not forget about Gus, either.
  19. From today's set shots it appeared he's comfortable kicking from 45 - 50m. Outside of 50m his effort affects accuracy. Still pretty bloody good for a 13 gamer.
  20. No, you do the leg work and tell me why he would not.
  21. I'd be wanting those odds for him to kick one for the game.
  22. I can't remember who it was but one of the commentators on tele did a mid-year AA team and it had Hurley in it. Might've been Alistair Lynch.. Personally I think Hurley is overrated and has escaped criticism over the years.
  23. Would love to see Jesse dish out a super game by out-marking Hurley and kicking a bag. 6 goals today??
  24. On AFL 360 tonight Gerard and Slobbo asked each other "if you had the chance to pick any marquee player to build a team around who would it be?" Slobbo went with Fyfe. Gerard went with the Hulk. Jesse will be one of the highest paid youngsters on his next contract and I hope it's the MFC paying it. If we're still serving up paltry efforts in two years time I'd be very concerned.
