Seriously? I can see the complexities clearly but have a different point of view - one that you seem to be unable to comprehend. We should've traded Watts years ago but instead hung on in, waiting in hope that he'd become the player we thought he could. If you're able to take the blinkers off, you will take note of the FACT that watts has not yet left the MFC. But you allude to the supporters thanking him for his past service and putting up with a club that was run by inept people. He played his part in that ineptitudeness and hasn't been able to rectify his behaviour or change with the club. If you can't see my point of there being a large portion of the Melbourne faithful still celebrating a bloke who is a serial under-performer then you have no chance of comprehending the footy departments view either.

Lots of perhaps and maybes. If you wish to refuse to acknowledge that Watts has only brought one good season out of nine, then you are just another supporter accepting of mediocrity. Go figure?
-
More telling was the chorus of supporters cheers for Jack. Blinded by his 'great guy' status over his years of mediocrity.
-
Lever finishes outside top 10 so we think his value is lessened with regards to any trade. Watts finishes outside top 20 but people think he's still going to secure us decent trade value? Can't have that cake and eat it too in this instance. We're still talking about 'potential' otherwise.

I just can't see any of the metaphorical mindset speech Goodwin gave tonight having any impact on Jack - apart from making him squirm in his chair.

Poor old Clarry mixing a gut full of beers with an obvious cold. ? Recipe for speech-disaster. -

I would've preferred listening to another 25 minute speech from Trenners. Who needs Stilnox when you can listen to this mobs music. -

Heres a picture of tonight's banjo man. Explains why there's so many Jack watts related musical tunes. -

Oh yeah, and the music is terrible. -

After coaching Trenners for two years Plapp still calls him "Trengrove". -
Couldn't see him in red and blue except at Casey. Eagles losing two best 22 mids in Priddis and Mitchell and delisting Wellingham? Considering our midfield now bats deeper the WCE I would think it's highly unlikely - even as a small forward.
-
I appreciate that Mahoney probably wants to be seen as reasonable person to deal with during trade period but the Crows have done themselves no favours in reflecting a value of two first round picks for Lever.
-
That has a direct bearing on the level of compensation Geelong yet for him leaving. I really don't know how the scale works but you'd be thinking mid 20's??

The Pontiac Potato and Turn-it-up Trade Thread
McQueen replied to Roger Mellie's topic in Melbourne Demons
Indeed.. -
I think you're making it basic mate. We're getting fugged about by the Crows and the player who wants to come to our club is being treated like he was some type of cancer. They're changing the goal posts so we should too.

As rpfc has mentioned above, our deal can and should now be altered due to the circumstances that have played out since Jake nominated us. Fug 'em.
-
We shouldn't wait on Adelaide drawing this out until the 11th hour of trade period to get this deal done. Mahoney to come out and publicly say that we'll open to trades with other clubs with 10 and or 27 and pick Jake out of the PSD.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BALIC
McQueen replied to ignition.'s topic in Melbourne Demons
Always worry about players who fail to achieve at an interstate club no matter how highly they're regarded at draft time. There's a trend - and most of the players who return eventually add little value. Obviously I hope Balic will be different. -
And considering there's effectively zero angst against Cameron wanting to go to Brisneyland, it does make you wonder why Lever is being portrayed in such light. Tex looking more like the villain at every turn.
-
Phil Walsh must be turning in his grave with how this club has become so immature and weak.
-
After reading the big footy for narrow minded imbeciles board about Lever, Adelaide have become my new most hated club in the League. What a disgraceful way to treat an ex-player who has every right to leave after fulfilling his contract. What have they got in store for Charlie Cameron?
-
Now all we need is for Lever to walk into the draft so AFC get SFA and I will be searching for another TLA.

He praises one element of his game. The one that almost everyone here agrees with. Dangerfield hasn't seen enough of his preparation or competitiveness to pass judgement but Goodwin and the LG certainly have.
