For mine is Spargo out and Clarry in. We are playing one too many smalls up forward who aren’t giving us enough. Hard squeeze with Bowey unless we want to rest Hibbo again. Petty is obviously a walk up start too if he’s fit. But he may not be? Tough selection week.

We won this game the way we like to win. Hard contested footy. Won clearances (without Oliver!) and contested possessions and dominated defensively. That is pleasing as we know this method wins us a flag.

The BS frees didn’t help

Incorrect. Tomlinson needs to play a role. He can concede 2-3 goals a game and we can still keep the opposition to under 10 goals because it allows May and Lever to play their natural game. If he keeps this form up and we can play Petty forward, we will win the flag. Yes, I said it.

Correct. He played on Josh Daicos and was very good. Chin was ok. Spargo did nothing hence he was subbed. Kosi seems to me to be carrying an injury. Barely got out of first gear and didn’t make the distance from 40 out.

We dominated that game. Make no mistakes this is the Port game in reverse. We kick straight and it’s a 6 goal win. Absolutely brilliant performance missing two very important players. I want to give a massive shout out to Smith and Tomlinson. Played perfect team roles. And McVee and JVR who are delivering beyond their years. A performance that makes you so proud. What an effort!

As always it’s not losing or winning, it’s how you lose or win. I want to see what we’ve come up with to counter the Pies. If it works with some success then I’ll be satisfied that we can get them in finals. If it falls apart like a cheap suit I’ll be worried.

Obviously if they had suspected flu or Covid running through the club they would have wanted extra time to assess and maybe even wait on respiratory test results before naming the side. I don’t have any issues with that. It’s better than naming a side and then making 8 changes two days later, or letting infectious players take the field and passing it onto our guys!

Walsh and Cerra are good. Pitonett is a very decent ruckman. Their small forwards are nimble. Their list is significantly better than St Kildas. Yet one team plays like a team and the other has no idea what to do.

I would try and target the following in order of who I’d like most to who is probably the most realistic 1. Larkey 2. Naughton 3. McKay (Ben) 4. Himmelberg (but not for the reported $900k!) 5. Georgiadis

My dog has been standing at the window barking angrily at a single magpie in our front yard for 30 minutes. The magpie, while unmoved, has certainly been told in no uncertain terms by the dog, what a stupid ugly useless bird it is.

We need to put on a strong performance. If we lose by a small margin it’ll be very disappointing, but not the end of the world as we too are missing very important players. Namely our best player in Oliver. However if we get blown away and it’s not even a contest, similar to the Brisbane (pre lights out) or Essendon game, then I think even the ever optimistic @binman will have doubts over where this season can take us. My main concern today is having to listen to their toothless brainless moron supporters chanting Collingwood while I spent 1.5 hours getting home after the game.
