Berry is a bog ordinary footballer. If they want to run with him in their finals side then it gives us an advantage. Would you play Harmes to shut down Neale at the expense of say Gus or Sparrow? Good luck to the Lions. They’ve lost a lot of class and pace with Ashcroft going down. Doubt they’ll play a mid in a purely negative role in finals, but it may happen again. With Fritta back is reduces the need to play Trac forward. So they shut down Clarry and Viney, Trac and Gus get a better run instead. I’m not worried. The crack at McGuiness IMO was because he was going the man not the ball. Holding and scragging Clarry illegally behind play all day. I hope in finals the best umpires don’t allow that to happen.

You don't beat the top sides with a tag, because the top sides do not rely on one player to win games. We literally beat the top 2 teams this year without Oliver.

Grundy's rating is a joke. He cost us very little and saved our [censored] when Gawn was injured, while getting Gawn to peak Gawn at the pointy end of the season. And the irony is, we will get as much if not more in return for him than we paid to get him, should he choose to leave.

Goodwin was right tho. McGuinness had no interest in getting the ball himself, which is why he has done such a good job shutting down players. At no point did Goodwin said he didn't do a good job, but it's much easier to tag when you don't care about winning possessions yourself, which was the point he was making. The bottom line is, top clubs would never utilise this type of tagging role, because they would never risk playing 'a man down', they would rather just back their own systems in, while trying to limit the influence of the opposition's key players.

Well you get priority 3 for GF tickets. Priority one is gone and has been gone for a long long time to those of us who have committed for years.

True, but I think the key to that would be finding a good contested marking CHF which could well be Petty. I think our midfield can dominate playing with a poorer ruckman, but it’s the marking dominance of Gawn down the line that is so important to us.
