We backed ourselves to get him fit, which I always thought was strange when even Burgess couldn't do that at Adelaide. Ultimately at almost 30, it seems very unlikely that he will ever be able to get his body to a good enough position to play consistent AFL football. If he doesn't have a ripping pre-season, we can say that this trade was a complete bust.

I think their involvement came in the form of: "hey Trac, we tried but we can't get you to Pies or Blues, please stop this nonsense". Exactly right I suggest we try and bundle this pick, as well as the other second rounder we have which is tied to Sydney (from the Grundy trade), and try to move down the draft order. There are a number of clubs who need points for bidding.

Hutchy has no friends, so of course he finds it unbelievable that we would want to show appreciation and support for a player who has given their all to this club and is leaving for personal legitimate reasons. I think what the media wants is for Nibbler to tell them his private family business. They would like to know what his wife's favourite colour is, what their baby had for breakfast, what his mother does for work, and how many times a week he waters his lawn. They can't stand the fact that they know he's leaving for personal reasons, but that they are not aware of the very intimate details of said reasons. They did the exact same thing with Finlayson, and boy oh boy did that fire back when they realised why he needed to move back to SA.

Why are you so against doing an external review? There are really no bad outcomes here. Either it finds we are well run, nothing to improve. Or it will find areas for improvement which we can act upon. No organisation is perfect. If we can bring an external point of view to find ways for us to get better, then isn't that a good thing? Only if you have something to hide, would you keep your doors closed.

100%, but unfortunately these media leeches will publish any sort of rubbish if it gets clicks. This is why we have to be better at controlling the narrative of what is out there for public consumption. I thought we handled the ANB situation quite well, especially considering it was leaked out. But because we've had 12+ months of bad publicity, it is now become open season on taking a steaming [censored] on the MFC.
