This. He and Clarry make us so much better. Somehow I don't think he will make it. Still listed as 2-3 weeks, but I guess we do have 10 days between games so it's possible. He does tend to take longer to recover from injuries in general. Clarry is a magical healing unicorn.

I am not saying we get Georgiadis to resolve our tall forward problem. I am saying that if we can get him cheap, we should get him because he's very talented and could be a good athletic third option. He's certainly better than Joel Smith.

Would you look at Ben McKay? He can either play the second tall defender role, allowing Petty to swing forward, or we could try him up forward... as long as he kicks it better than his brother.

If you could get Georgiades on the cheap, knowing he's out for 12 months with an ACL, I wouldn't dismiss it. Jason Taylor was a big fan of his in his draft year.

I hate the media noise around Carlton this week. Hating on them is flavour of the week. It could go one of two ways, but there’s no doubt that they’ll come out firing.

And then we will say that he won their B&F because he was the only player on their list fit enough to play 24 rounds AND care enough to put in the work on the field.

It could work out if Harmes requests a trade and Melksham and Hibbo retire (which I suspect they both will, although I would give Hibbo another year IF his body is up to it, he's aging like fine wine). You could also sell him the success angle....

I reckon I’m just sentimental because he was one of my favorites and I feel badly for him because he was so close to winning a flag, and never wanted to leave the club. I know rationally that he’s just an ok player and would make no difference to our team currently. But watching him play for that abomination of a side, is very sad.

Zorko should get an extra week just for being a piece of you know what. He is a disgraceful man and an even worse so called leader. How that is worthy of only a week and JVR was given two initially just blows my mind.

Which was no surprise as he got absolutely no continuity at senior level. He’s been doing well at Essendon. A change of scenery was definitely good for him. I’m not sure he was going to progress any further at Melbourne. I am still mad that we gave up Hunt for nothing.

We could have played JJ for a whole game and let Sparrow push forward more. He’s a far better and more reliable goal scorer these days than Harmes. I think ultimately we wanted to replace the experienced mature body of Clarry with another experienced mature big bodied player. If Dunstan was fit I reckon we would have played him ahead of Harmes.

And I bet every single one of them will have more success at the tribunal than Melbourne has.

Last time we had an earthquake in Melbourne we won the flag. So, all in all, nothing to see here, flag is in the bag. Carry on.

1000% this. This is a generational player. I would rather lose KB 10 times over, than lose Clarry for the season or have him struggle with recurring hamstrings for the rest of his career. Losing KB is inconsequential, losing Clarry to long term injury is not.

And West Coast. Don't forget West Coast. They are not beating anyone. Adelaide are quite a young side still. They are therefore up and down and have real inconsistencies in their game. Even last night when Brisbane were coming hard in the last, they looked a little nervous. But they have a really good list and some absolute A grade ball users. I would not be shocked if they push for top 4 next year. I reckon they're a good chance to make finals this year too.

It still annoys me that we brought Harmes straight back in from the VFL after he struggled to make the side, and poor JJ was again relegated to the sub role. What on earth does JJ have to do to get a full game, and what will we learn about Harmes as a player that we don't already know? I think that in the absence of Oliver, possibly one of the greatest ever mids who will never be replaced, we should take the opportunity to explore different options. JJ, Laurie, Rivers, Kosi, Woewodin.... these are the guys I want to see get midfield opportunities. I know what I am getting from Harmes. It is neither great nor terrible, but if you can't replace Oliver anyway, you may as well try to unearth something new in his absence. And if you play Harmes, why are you playing Viney in a negating role, when Harmes has shown time and time again how good he is at tagging?! If he stays in this week, and Cripps gets up, I want him to wear Cripps like a glove.

I told you already, he will not miss even a second of football. The best lawyers in town are suiting up to ensure that not only does he get off, the AFL pays Carlton damages for emotional distress caused.

To be fair, this is what I would expect from 3 senior, experienced players trying to break back into the senior side.

Absolutely 0 chance we risk Oliver this week given the sheer amount of injuries Carlton have, plus how bad they are playing. KB tho….
