And yet we punish players who deliberately choose to run into an opponent, elbow raised, feet off the ground, the same as a player who chooses to tackle. And we have Cerra get off, but Sparrow doesn't. And we don't punish players who choose to go into a contest head first and not protect themselves. The AFL, as always, is picking and choosing who to punish, when and how, to suit their narrative. Merrett is no longer eligible for the Brownlow. I bet my bottom dollar that the next player in trouble who is a Brownlow favourite, magically gets off.
  2. Our two club have about 130,000 combined members. In what world do we deserve to play in a 40k capacity stadium, when we absolutely would get more than 40,000 spectators to the game if it was played at the MCG?

The fact that even in this thread nobody can agree on what is and isnโ€™t a reasonable outcome for these acts, tells you exactly why the entire process is flawed.
  4. I trust my eyes. Maynard pulls Cox away and hugs Trac. Enough said.

Like most things the AFL does, this has been poorly executed, inconsistently managed and horribly flawed. Nobody knows what is and isnโ€™t ok anymore. Just wait until we suspend players for accidentally concussing their own teammates.

How did De Goey get the same punishment. Just how. The game is cooked.
  7. Actually it does. He behaves very much like many big American sports stars. Only difference is, heโ€™s not a good sportsman so itโ€™s just embarrassing.
  8. How about we get a home game against them every once in a while?
  9. Jim Stynes was an amazing story. This Yank Hack is not. He wouldnโ€™t be getting a game if the Pies didnโ€™t trade Grundy.
  10. Is Mason Cox spent half as much time learning to play AFL as he does being a loud mouth American with a massive ego and too many opinions, he might one day be good enough to tie the bootlaces of Trac. Him and Zorko both suffer from serious [censored] bloke with a big mouth syndrome.
  11. He grew up in an AFL mad house. His dad ran Auskick out at Waverley Park. He has photos as a kid with every Hawthorn great you can think, and personalised signed jumpers. He lost his love for the game as a teen, and never had any strong affiliation to any club because everyone in his family barracks for someone different (all terrible choices too). Then he met me and understood that the only way to survive is to join in. He is genuinely a Melbourne supporter these days and he has a great understanding of the game. His favourite Melbourne player is ANB and he thinks Fritsch is a top 5 forward in the AFL. So he does really know his stuff. He just doesn't love going to game because it takes us a while to get to and from the ground, and I am very unpleasant to sit with ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜…
  12. And tradies who clocked off at 1:45pm from their 4 hours on site and stayed around for a beer and free entry to the game.
  13. Very few teams can defend like us. This was their lowest score of the year, bar the Adelaide game where they scored 59 points and won by 1 point (but they still had 2 more scoring shots in that game than they did against us).
  14. My husband who was watching from home kept texting me to complain that they keep holding Fritta in the marking contests. And also to ask how he can make it as a 39 year old AFL player since Mason Cox appears to be getting a game and "I can do better than him". Moore is a gun player, but he is also very much a protected one. I saw a fair few holding of arms going on inside our forward 50 for no frees. Having said that, other than about 9 HTB calls that were ignored, the overall standard of umpiring was far better than I've seen in as many weeks. The game felt like a final in many ways, including the minimal interference of the umpires (until the end when the Pies got a few they didn't deserve anyway).
  15. All duck no dinner
  16. Hibbo is aging like a fine wine. Has not lost any of his speed off the mark. We need to bubble wrap him in the lead up to finals, because especially against sides with good medium forwards like Pies and Brisbane, he is absolutely critical.
  17. Don't even get me started on the farce that is our continued forced trip down to that dumpville of a ground. A combined membership of over 130,000 members, but certainly lets play this game at a ground with a current capacity of 6.
  18. Goody said post match they have 4 days off then back to it. Our players really got the rough end of the stick again with this pseudo bye. Why couldn't we play Geelong on Saturday night FFS?
  19. The most important leg in football. White as the pure alpine snow too.
  20. But are we better than Freo yet David? ๐Ÿฅฒ
  21. He lives for the big games. If we meet Pies in a grand final, I really hope he puts Cox on his [censored]. Would be worth the suspension for the laughs.
  22. The fact that we got kicked out of the top 4 for goddamn Freo is what made me laugh. Like fair if he put Dogs, Saints or Essendon hell, Adelaide would be passable. But Freo???? ๐Ÿ˜ณ
  23. Just a tin foil hat and a crack pipe
  24. The most important thing now is, will David King have us back in his top 4 contenders after we lost out last week to Freo? ๐Ÿ˜‚
  25. May has to play him and Tomlinson on Hawkins Just keep your goddamn elbows to yourself Hawkins, you oiled-up fatarse
