I’m sorry but Max Gawn is the best ruckman in the game. Has been for about 6 years now. Why should he give up the number one ruck spot? Grundy hasn’t adapted to playing beyond the ruck. He’s a very poor mark for his height and his impact at ground level has been just ok. I have nothing against this trade or what the club was trying to do, but Gawn being Gawn is not the problem here. He is an elite footballer and we are lucky to have him!

Heartbreaking news for beautiful little Charlie and his family. What an awful thing to go through. Life really is cruel sometimes. I cried when I read he passed away, but I hope he got to take with him those wonderful experiences the club gave him.

Well I guess they tagged Oliver and had the midfield ascendancy, so it was the right call by Mitchell. Sadly for Mitchell, we have too many good players and you just can’t tag them all. When they took the tag off Oliver he basically won us the game in 10 minutes. So sad for Hawks 🙄

It’s the fault of the AFL for not putting in place clear rules that means goal umpires cannot make these types of mistakes. Every score with x minutes left on the game is reviewed. Or every score when the margin is under x is reviewed. Humans make mistakes. By putting in rules in place and the proper technology, we can avoid mistakes as much as possible.

No. The issue last week was not the umpire's call, it was the [censored] poor vision that was 'inconclusive'. Better technology would have allowed for a definite ruling of whether the ball was indeed touched. FWIW I sat behind the goals and it was clearly not touched.

His girlfriend has also just moved from interstate to be with him. He ain’t leaving.

We might pull a couple of late outs IF by the time we play, we know that Pies are locked into 1st and Brisbane are 2nd, therefore finishing 4th would be the better result. If Brisbane do finish 1st, or we have any chance to get to 2nd (which is unlikely since Richmond won't beat Port), we will go all out to try and win.

He also played on a very good and experienced player yesterday, so lets give some credit to that.

Goodwin was pretty clear post game. Nobody is being rested with a week off between round 24 and finals. Of course if anyone is injured they’ll not play.

I called the umpires putrid and Hawks players embarrassing today. Both are correct calls and I will die on this hill!

If the Dogs don’t make finals, we will be the only premiers of the last decade to play in finals this year (thanks for the stat @deanox). Just goes to show you how difficult it is to keep backing up every year and we’ve done it better than any other premier in recent years!

Hawks have beaten 5 of the top 8 sides this year. I swear we can win by 100 points and someone will still say it was a mediocre win and we are no good. The only side with a flag and 3 top four finishes in the last 3 years. How about some f’ing appreciation for how hard that is to achieve?! I swear this place is full of sad sacks.
