    Me too.

He, Curtis, Zurharr (who killed us in round 2) and Xerri will go a long way towards deciding the result.

I'm assuming and planning for Larkey to play despite being injured. They'll just park him near the goals.

We didn’t have May in round 2. I expect him to do a good job on Larkey. Turner a backup option, who also didn’t play round 2.

    JJ says hello.

JJ is an average footballer, who was happily traded for more reasons than just his average footballing.

What annoys me is when journalist create there own news stories in that a player, frustrated at being dropped is now potentially looking to leave the club with other clubs now keeping an eye the situation. You're making a player like Jake - a pro - and 100% footy nerd who is also 100% Melbourne, look like he's a sooking diva and now wants to leave after correctly receiving a reality check on his performance.

Worst still, is our own supporters are using these lies to pile on and get stuck into Lever's character!

That’s a fair comment, especially re mass exodus

On Kossie though, I’d probably say that it is a very, very large amount of money. Do you think that has a large effect on one’s decision making process in a game where one has a short lifespan?

    The same applies for others.

The interesting thing will be lesser lights, those who are still quality role players, like Judd.

Of course money helps, but you think Freo wouldn't have paid him well? how about West Coast? St Kilda? Essendon?

There are loads of clubs who could have matched if not exceeded what we are giving Kosi, but he chose to stay after every men and their dog said he's gone.

Bedford is the only lesser light we've lost who has gone on to become a good player, and he didn't leave for any reason other than wanting more game time. It's a shame we lost him, but these things happen all the time at every club.

I have no idea if Judd stays or goes, but if he does choose to go, it's not a reflection of a club that is falling apart and who can't hold onto its players. It's simply a case of a player wanting to go home. It happens every year at every club.

Except that's never been the case under Goody...

Seriously! The only player we’ve lost under Goody that we desperately wanted to keep was Jackson… and he’d walk back thru the door in a heartbeat if given the chance. He was a silly kid who made a poor decision under family coercion.

With zero proof people talk about mass exodus and players wanting out, when the cold hard facts are that under Goodwin we have managed to keep our entire core group together, and re-sign are young players.

How quickly they all forget that Kosi has just re-signed, one of the hottest properties in football, who had every reason to head home.

I thought it was only Morris who enjoys making up negative stories about our club, but it’s our supporters too!

  6. It’s unsurprising that the same posters who just love to pile on players at every opportunity, continue to take the word of gutter weasel Tom Morris, on literally everything, no matter how many times he’s proven to be a flat out liar!

Have a good look at yourselves and take stock of your Melbourne supporting life.

    Good god.

Mid week tackle also said Kosi is leaving.

I’m not saying Judd has signed, but let’s stop taking these journalists seriously. There’s a tiny handful worth their weight, these clowns are not it.

Judd isn’t entertaining other offers, so what is he doing? Consulting his spiritual healer?

Lever got dropped and they were like, 1+1 is 3. Please. They’re laughable.

Not if it's for the long term good of the club.

We don’t even have a first round draft picks. Losing on purpose has ruined this club previously. May we never ever ever get there again. Ever. For no reason.

He spoke specifically about Max, Viney and Trac all having plenty of time to win another premiership. The player he conspicuously left out was Clarry, and rightly so IMO.

Clarry is only 27. I think it goes without saying that if Max, Viney and Trac all have plenty of time to win another premiership, players younger than them do too.

Does anyone in the footy world view Clarry as an “old” player? 27 is the new 23 in footy these days.

  10. He is still a kid. Pre game on channel 7 they showed the evolution of Thiltrope, who until this year was pretty awful. He went pick 2 behind JUH.

JVR has plenty of time on his side, but he must have serious support up forward. Expecting someone his age to hold down an entire forwardline like he’s Wayne Carey is bonkers.

He’s also ultra competitive in the ruck.

Honestly, I wouldnt mind Jeffo, JVR and Kentfield all in the team.

Or even Petty Jeffo and Roo together.

Jeffo is more of a third tall than he is a key position forward. He’s a good user of the ball and quite agile. I can see him playing more of the Fritsch role.

I am dropping Fritsch this week, for his distinct lack of effort for the past god knows how many games, and bringing another tall and playing Jeffo as a third tall.

I am not sure he gives us less effort than Fritsch at the moment anyway.

Looking at this from a different perspective -

If you’re a club who may be interested in Trac or Oliver, who’s the more attractive proposition? A former Norm Smith winner recovering from a horrible injury, or a former gun midfielder who made his own downfall?

Trac is a far safer option and is going to have more trade currency than Claz. That might be the decisive factor in which of them stays or goes

Clarry, if he goes to Geelong, will win a Brownlow.

3 frees against, 5 turnovers and of those 23 disposals, 16 were handballs.

He also had 15 uncontested possessions.

Meaning 82% efficiency is expected from that makeup.

I mean for god's sake, scratch the surface a little here.

He is absolutely shocking at taking care when disposing of the ball and has been for years. No care when kicking. Use your eyes for christ sake.

I never said he had a good game, I just pointed out that if you’re going to get stuck into Clarry for his ball use, have a look at Trac as well. Both are playing well below their respective best.

For an inside mid, Clarry’s disposal is at or above league average. Go back and look at the post I wrote a few weeks back comparing him to the best inside mids in the game. His average disposal has always been at around the high 60s, even at his peak.

He just isn’t winning enough of the ball, or hitting the contest at speed like he used to. He is also playing a defensive role now, which is very different to how he used to play.

But likewise Trac isn’t winning the ball like he used to, or laying tackles like he used to, or getting to contests like he used to.

Both need to be held accountable for our downfall, but Trac as a leader even more so. He should be pushing the side forward. He demanded the club got better, but has he?

And I won’t bring up his shambolic goal kicking skills. Laughable really that he’s the player I least want to see going for goal. I rather Maxy from outside 50.

  14. Oliver is apparently horrendous with the ball, yet he was going at 82% efficiency while tagging. He had 23 touches, Dawson had 25.

Trac also had 23 touches but went at 65% and had ZERO clearances.

The blind hate for Clarry and the leniency given to Trac just blows my mind. I know Clarry was a naughty boy, but Trac nearly blew up the club last year with the trade debacle.

Both are playing well below their best and well below what their salary demands.

If Fritsch is not omitted something is seriously wrong.

    This.

Good enough for Lever, good enough for Tmac, certainly good enough for Fritsch!

I want to see Rivers and Chin spend 50% of the game in the middle

Losing to Norf twice in a season might just be the end of me

What’s happened to Judd McVee? His form this year has dropped away dramatically. Missing a large chunk of pre season seems to be having an effect on his performances on match day.

Young players can’t afford to miss pre seasons. It absolutely kills their season. It’s why the effort from Lindsay this season is absolutely incredible.

  17. Getting stuck into Jefferson is so typical of Melbourne supporters who have been screaming for changes and wanting to play for the future.

He’s played 4 [censored] games in maybe the worst forwardline in the entire competition. His teammates include another kid down on confidence in JVR, a newbie in Kolt who is struggling badly, a red hot Melksham and Fritsch who hasn’t done anything since 1986.

Will he make it? Probably not. Do we know this yet? No we don’t. What is the point of dropping him? The season is over. Let him play and see if he can grow in confidence.

You want to have a go at someone? Have a go at senior players who can’t tackle, can’t handball, and have poor efforts repeatedly.
