Although I prefer the look of the traditional jumper, I feel it is much more practical to have clash jumpers when they are really required. For example, in games against clubs such as Essendon it makes it easier for the players to play the game without having to constantly worry about making a blunder. The outcome of a match should not be determined by a simple mistake.

Kinda keen to see how the 'regular' group respond to last night's defeat - yes it was just a preseason game but it would be nice to see our squad bounce back with a solid win over the suns/lions. Then use week four to blood some of the babies...
I agree with the master. I don't think it's worth risking the likes of our injury prone players such as Jurrah, Sylvia and Grimes. I'd also give Jamar a rest. It's a good opportunity to play the young players as if we're playing the GC they'll also be fielding a very young side.

I'm surprised to see how low Moloney is in the voting. He's definitely not in my top three, but considering how many thought he would make such a great captain, I am surprised he isn't polling higher.
Also surprised that Russian doesn't have more. He's and AA who dominates games, and is effective even when he is not in the ruck.

Good to hear so much positive rumblings about the situation.
It seems as though the initial panic as a result of the Eddie rumour has now subsided and most posters have realized that he's probably full of $#!%. With the exception of ADC, that is.

What I will keep re-iterating is that chatter from BOTH sides means nothing.I would expect Bails to say nothing less. However this is the same Bails who said "Cameron Bruce is a professional and I expect to see him at training on Monday"
Beat me to it.

Just got off the phone to an attendee of a bayside function that occurred this morning. Apparently there was some very positive chat in regard to retaining Tom. When Bailey was quizzed by the MC he responded that he was very confident in retaining Tom and that he would be in a dees jumper for the next 10 yrs.
If I remember correctly, Bailey was certain that Bruce would be a Demon this year. Although I am quite sure Scully will remain a Demon, I wouldn't take great comfort in what Bailey says. I'm waiting to hear from Scully himself, but I don't expect this to happen until the end of the season.

Bit tough on Morton , Goodes is a big , mobile , 2 time Brownlow medalist with a ton of experience .
Agreed. I think Morton played a solid game considering who is opponent was.

I don't think he is anywhere near the player Frawley is, but he is a key part of the team for if one of our defenders goes down.
Thanks for the report!

Great to hear those things about Bate and Warnock.
For me, Bate has always seemed a bit slow, so hopefully this year he can prove that he isn't.
A fit Warnock is very important, especially since Frawley's gone down. Hope he can prove that he belongs in the best 22 when Frawley's back.
Was Petterd training?

If you could have one realistic wish for the Dees' this year (other than a premiership or Tom Scully signing), what would it be?
I'd want to see us win a final.

How many uncontracted players can GWS sign? And do players such as Folau count or is it only established AFL players?
I don't think that Scully is going to go as there is no incentive I can see other than money. He does not seem the type chase money, but he definitely seems the type that wants to win premierships.
There is no point in carrying on as if we've already lost him or we're going to lose him, as that will only lower our chances of retaining him. We need to support him every time he takes to the field in the red and blue and hopefully this will make his decision easy.

Green IMO is the best suited right now, however if Davey got it I would not be surprised or disappointed,Davey as captain could lift the aboriginal boys to new heights. Davey should be made at least one of the V/C if not the real McCoy.Now Frawley has gone down it is very important that Rivers also gets a senior berth in the leadership group - most possbly as a Deputy V/C.
Why do you think that?

hmm wheres everyone that wanted to trade warnock now?
I've always liked Warnock. Although with the emergence of other players in the backline, I feel his only chances of getting in the side will come through injuries.
It is very important to have players like Warnock who are able to step on the field and fill a role if someone goes down.

Via twitter about a half hour ago:
chipa__8 James Frawley - "Thank everyone for the kind wishes! Shouldn't be too bad though hopefully only a few weeks."
I'm waiting to hear from the team before I get too relieved. Hopefully he won't miss too much if any of the season.
If he has to miss some, it is lucky we have Warnock. I know he isn't anywhere near the player Chip is, but he is still a good replacement should one be needed.

does anyone know where i can find shane woewodins, 5 bounce goal?
round 5, 1998
I was wondering the same thing. I remember it used to be on youtube, but I've been searching for it for about half an hour with no luck.

I think the stars are quite similar to what I've seen used on some soccer guernseys.
Can't remember where but I do recall seeing it in places before.
You would've seen the stars on World Cup jerseys. When a country wins a WC they add a new star above their logo.

I like everything about both jumpers except for the collar.
Great work integrating the MCC as well as having a reminder of our past glory on it.
Can't wait to see another couple of stars added!

I seem to remember him being traded. I don't think it was his choice, especially considering that he is still involved with the MFC today
