  1. everything in between the quotation marks ?
  2. Forget implemented. It stands no chance of meeting its goals even if implemented. To ban entry of people from countries to stop the terrorists from entering is nonsensical. Most of the organised terror plots have terrorists using fake passports and visas or moving to countries where there is some ease in obtaining passport/visas. If terrorists are not home grown they will just obtain a passport from a country where there is no ban. This is the biggest fraud since "we need to stop the boats as we there may be terrorists". Terrorists are not trained and construct sophisticated plans and then get on a rickety boat with some chance of surviving the high seas. This is not an argument on whether or not Governments want individuals from certain coming to their countries. This is just highlighting that the "terrorist" reason given is bogus.
  3. "The Demons are a beautiful team - beautiful - I know because I am smart. They are going to win bigly. We are going to win so much and so often we are gonna get sick of winning. I told Goodwin that our defense is going to be so strong. so strong. We are going to build a wall across the half back line and keep all other teams out. And we are going to get the AFL to pay for it. I will place a travel ban on any other team coming into our defensive half. I think I can also say that we are sick.. so sick.. yes we are sick.. of the dishonest hawks and their fake premierships ( lock them up)." - Founder and owner of Trump Enterprises.
  4. I have this embroidered in gold lame thread on my jacket.
  5. I have always been a believer in that no matter how good your game plan is - work rate will pretty much trump all. Most games we lost last year were because we were not prepared to work hard enough. Run, spread, chase, tackle, contest - then you can please yourself on the nuances.
  6. I'll address the first two words. I have never understood the argument "but Clinton won the popular vote" . What does it matter ? The bottom line is the system is not based on a popular vote. In 1998 Labor won the popular vote in the Australian election but lost.
  7. I think what it does is point to is a disregard for any semblance of "certain rules apply". ( or probably more to the point - due to the intense scrutiny on everything that Trump ( and his appointees) say and do, these guys are just getting caught). Kellyanne Conway got herself in a pickle by spruiking Ivanka Trumps clothing line. I saw the interview and it was so innocuous and was hardly an "informercial", What it was is plain dumb. My gut feeling is Trump will come undone in exactly the same way and I am tipping that it will be through his inability to disconnect his business interests from the Presidency.
  8. one down. National Security Adviser - Mike Flynn has resigned. Not unusual to lose staff - but 25 days in, to lose a new appointee for "inadvertently briefing the President and Vice President with incomplete information" - is not a good look.
  9. I think there are countless studies showing a correlation between being a Dees supporter and alcoholism.
  10. that's enough to get me to start drinking !
  11. I don't know and never gave it a thought - My abstinence comes from never really developing a taste for alcohol.
  12. Is more the question - do you need to abstain ? It know it is a tired old cliche but "everything in moderation". You are going to be a long time dead so why deny yourself the pleasure if it causes no ill effect mentally or physically ?
  13. American politics is a swamp - just different animals are now occupying the swamp - a swamp is a swamp...
  14. I don't judge and whatever floats ones boat - but i avoid the very drunk and i think they would avoid me as when they are in that state, then rarely do we find the same things funny. But i am very popular with my partner and our kids as I am always nominated driver....
  15. No studies to share only the interesting insight into "letting my mates down if I don't have a drink". I have never been a drinker and if I would have 3 drinks a year I could probably be accused of exaggerating. What is interesting is because I don't drink there has never been any pressure from my drinking buddies to have a glass or two, however should one of the drinkers want a night off - the crap that he would have to field . Fortunately as we have got older that mentality has somewhat diminished. What I have never understood is when I see people either throwing up from over indulgence or the aftermath the day after - the hangover - I just don't get how the night of enjoyment can compensate from the deathly illness the next day ! But hey..that's just me.
  16. I know you are going to say "Whitewash" but lets see what the inquiry into the polices action yields. Ramming a car in the crowded city ? You don't see a danger in that ? Where exactly would have the rammed car ended up ? You have the benefit of hindsight on knowing the tragic outcome of not intercepting the car. If the car had been rammed and then careered out of control and killed innocents would you be saying the same thing ? When you ram a car you have zero control where that car is going to end up. I will wait for the inquiry to see if there was a time that the car could have been safely taken out. It was not long ago that police had to change their policy on car chases as innocents lost their lives in the process of chases and there was a huge public outcry. Damned if you do damned if you dont. (On the other hand - the current bail laws absolutely need fixing - as soon as the offence is assault related or there are prior assaults or drugs are involved - simple - remand in custody)
  17. Absolutely - what i was suggesting is exactly what you have said. Ice is notorious for the aggression it can bring out in its users. Add a predisposition to violence or , as you put it, an axe to grind and it can be lethal as we saw. Having said that - the impact of the drug is so unpredictable on each person that as Biffen pointed out, you can't really make a blanket statement as I did. The one generalisation I will make as soon as I read that someone went on a drug fueled violent spree - it is usually ice.
  18. WayneWussell - interested to hear your thoughts on Trengove ?
  19. You could have stopped at ice and ice dont mix. The scourge of modern society. Is there a more insidious drug and how it effects the user and worse, impact on others ?
  20. Donald Trump - make the Dee's great again
  21. Colin Sylvia looking to attend his first preseason session....
  22. My all time favourite - Hugh Purse. Captained the team in 1908 and of course - was recruited from Brighton. He could have been anything if only they could have got a full preseason into him. Look at those knickerbockers - disproving the old adage - you can make a Hugh Purse from a pigs ear
  23. true - but he has the chance to turn it around under Roos and he still picked and choose the contests and the effort level. He stepped it up last year - maybe it sunk in that he was going to have a short career if he kept going half pace.
  24. That's a pretty big call. I didn't like the efforts of Howe when he was with us but he played some really good football last year.
  25. Watched him a bit last year and he had a slow start to the year but played a ripper last 3/4's of the year. All that rubbish about him going to be Collingwoods "Gunston". He only started to play decent football when he went down back which i think he is infinitely better suited. Without wearing my red and blue glasses Howe has been more than valuable to his team than BenKen to us. Collingwood have got more out of him than in that later part of the season than we ever did. Wagner played 14 games for us last year and if Howe gave us the same form as he showed last year he would have been a better option in 14 games. (Howes kicking is still iffy imo) Alas - Howe for us was a lazy one mark a game highlight reel player.
