What a waste of top 4 finish.
So annoyed.
Same ol' mentally weak sheet.
A whole list infected with the yips.

Strange things happen in sport. No one does what we did in one half of a grand final either
Don't forget we were ever so close to a monumental choke in that game as well.
Make no mistake, we was staring down the slippery slope there for awhile.

Sheet.
Gotta tell the missus to turn the TV down.
I can hear 'em talking about Carlton in their 1st prelim for a million years yadda, yadda, yadda.
I'm on another media ban for a week.- 1

I think deep down nobody trusts what this club is going to do so they don't want to make too much noise fearing the inevitable ridicule.
100%
I actually hate watching our players celebrate goals like they've just won the game half way through the 3rd qtr and it's 6pts the difference.
Max gobbing off to the opposition ruckman before he kicks the goal etc, etc.
Even listening to radio before the game they were saying that all the money was for Melbourne.
Only 7% or so for Carlton.
Soon as I heard we were raging favourites I got that ominous sense of doom because the club can't handle expectation.
I hated the pre-finals pump up propaganda video the club put out.
All the talk of winning finals in Melbourne and then losing the next 4, out in straight sets 2 years in a row.
Max "bullish" again this season.
I could go on and on.
All the clowns at work telling me for 2years we'd be out in straight sets.
And we prove 'em right.
Cause we're chokers.
These days I struggle for the motivation to drive 700km round trip to watch the scrappy, boring, unattractive game Goodwin calls "The Melbourne way".
Yes they win more than they lose but it's god awful to watch regardless of the final score.

It’s pathetic. I’m not have a crack at our mob but I was so disappointed the sheer difference in support. What is it that makes us have this little support?
Performances like last night.
Embarrassing stuff.- 1

Langdon in his first two seasons struck the perfect blend between hard-nut and athlete that runs lanes and puts his body on the line. The last two seasons however, it seems he's strayed too far in the direction of lane running athletics. Only there to fill a strategic purpose, not allowed much 'space' to play on instinct, and kept out of the action too much to gain any kind of confidence to impact a 'match' with high disposals and metres gained.
Hasn't been the same since Maynard cleaned him up in the Duck/Dinner game.

Same old story really, backline keeps us in it, forwards fry us.
So proud of those guys though
I feel for the backline.
All their hard work butchered at the other end.- 5

I get why we didn’t play him. If we’d held on no one would have cared about it. I think we would have got more out of him than TMac, but I still get the thinking
I don’t know if I’ll ever get why we played Schache as sub but didn’t use him, though.
Cause TMac was about to explode.

For my mind we need a shake up of the assistant group again to freshen the messages up. Yze off to Tigers, Stafford out all together and perhaps choccos goal kicking practice can be quietly shut down
Chocco's certainly not doing the learn to kick footys he's trying to sell any favours.
Staffords gotta go.
He's had years to sort this forward line.
But hasn't done anything.
At all.

Wow. Well if that’s the case I’d love a couple more of those ‘flash in the pan’ premierships.
That's the point.
To prove it wasn't.
That they're not wasting a window.
Which they are.

9pts up, 7mins to go and we decide to play the clock.
Then scurry around like chooks with their heads off for the last 45 seconds after they sheet the bed.
Anyway.
This could go on all night.
I'm off to bed.
Disgusted.
Oh .... Better drag that flag down off the front fence 1st.
Hope no-one noticed it.- 1

Ya know what.
I hate watching us play.
There .... I said it.
No flair, no dare, just dour, scrappy, fumbly forken sheet.
Week after forken week.
I refused to watch the Swans under Roos.
Aints and Dockers under Lyon.
And now I'm stuck watching our BS under Goodwin.
We're supposed to be good, but my god we're garbage to watch.- 7

God I'm angry.
We have let a golden opportunity slip and I believe the reason is not as simplistic as poor kicking.
Just so angry

Sleep well demonlanders if you can.
And then remember 1st thing when ya open yer eyes that "Yeah, that really happened .... Again."
And then drag ya sorry arze outta bed and find somewhere to hide for a week.

It was poor decision making to target Grundy and then not even back him in. You think bringing a player in like that who has such significant cultural impact as he did, almost immediately being "one of the boys" to suddenly being overlooked, doesn't have some sort of impact? Bringing in guys like Jordon when you have even a spark like Woewodin waiting to bring some energy in. Throughout 2022 refusing to play JVR so that in 2023 he is essentially still a rookie and inexperienced.
I also think it's shocking.
We've just demonstrated to any future player we make a pitch to come play for us just how you may get treated.
Good luck with that.- 3

Vineys kick resulted in the winning goal for Carlton. Mind you he had time and space to kick better.

We said the same last year, bad luck... bad luck with I juries...
I am.afraid this can scar psychologically the group.
Lots of mental work to do in the offseason.
They play like they're already scarred.

Most of the side can't kick to save their lives and the 3 most accurate goal kickers were sitting in the stands.
Petty, Melk and Van Roo.
