We desperately need a couple of highly skilled, fast line breakers who hammer the opposition when we go forward. Trouble is that we have no draft picks to get them Another problem is that most of our big fish are performing.. So who isn’t performing? Our middle range 6/10 players are the problem and have been forever. Either awful or hot and cold .(Harmes, Melksham, Hannan, Bugg, Hunt, ANB, Lewis , Vince, Stretch JKH, Peterson)plus duds like Johnston and 3 new draftees are raw but forgivable but that’s 15 big problems. The spin from the coaching panel is some had a good pre season, so they get a game, ( ballsjat in my opinion, as anyone who has ever played football knows after 3 contests who can play or not or what you are up against , no matter how much running they did pre season) . So where is our our Martin, Trelor, Dangerfield coming from? So how do we get back in the draft to get them? To me six of the above , plus maybe Brayshaw on the table. Today was all about the inability of our 6/10 ers. Clear them out!

Disappointed in Lewis today. Saw no evidence of physical disturbance of his ex team mates. Very very disappointed in him.

Too many 6/10 footballers who rarely figure in these votes. Top sides don’t have too many 6/10 footballers.

Outs Harmes ( How on earth did he get Norm Smiths number? Absolutely no tricks, slow and embarrassing) Melksham ( another trier without pace and skill set) Lewis ( looked liked he was helping for his old club) Bugg, midfield absolutely B grade. Oliver excluded.

What were Jonesy stats for the last quarter?

Lewis got the hard ones when he had to, slotted the calming, leadership goal, doesn’t mind the hard stuff at all. Sadly time is catching up. Been very useful for us, like Bernie. Lots to offer blokes like Bugg, Frizer and the young blokes. Hope he tickles a few Hawks up next as a reminder. Grateful he came to us. Shows he’s also smart.

A brave ‘highlight’ mark from a young first year player and one for the AFL highlight reel showcasing our game, completely ruined by an incompetent decision. It didn’t but it could have cost the game. Umpire has to be dropped for sure. Really poor effort.

So we are within 4 points of those two sides atm, hmmm. And 1/2 dozen blokes have carried us. Reckon we haven’t played that great yet, with quite a few 6/10ers. Melksham, Hunt , Bugg ,Harmes, Lewis, Jetta, Wagner maybe Salem, Pedders absolutely cruising and Jonesy ( who does some good stuff) but keeps on bombing it ,to watching it come straight back over his head. Might be time to get with the program boys, every one of you can be covered by someone at Casey or someone who is injured. Remember, no excuses anymore, you all have to beat your opponent.

I hope Trac, Oliver, Hogan, Viney, Gawn, TMac, Hibberd represent a new leadership style that strengthens and takes our leadership to a new level . Also hope that ANB ,Stretch, Harms, Hunt, Brayshaw and others develop the same steel and smarts. They just have to take it. As the curtain comes down on Vince and Lewis happy to have these blokes around to assist.

Goodwin exercises excellent self control, remains calm and generally shoots me down with his aftermatch comments. Yesterday he was pleased how we set the game up early and responded under pressure later. On the other hand I got badly [censored] off with 20 minutes in the third quarter and stomped round the house like a bear with a sore head. So one of us has a decent grip of the modern game and I suspect it’s not me. I’d rather have a balanced general running the ship, not a hot head, he got us 12 wins last year and we could be 2/2 with a little luck this year. Geelong v Hawthorn might tell us even more tomorrow. I reckon we are going ok so far.

Seems taking the legs of a player like Selwood did with Salem is no longer an issue. Right in front of the umpire, ( and us) just a free. Dangerous and reckless I reckon. Was ordinary and what’s with all the 50 metre penalties? Where have these come from?

Best we forget about Hannan’s first half. Bit premature to pick Frisch I reckon but he might be ok later. Agree on Brayshaw

Understand the no panic sentiments, there are no excuses anymore ,we have to cover for them , we have to become winners. Its pretty simple and a win is an expectation. Anything else is a poor result. A bad loss would be terrible. The comments by Goody that we are going to set TMac and Viney up for later bothers me a bit. If we are 2-8 , what are they setting them up for? A charge for twelfth ? Hope the coach and players get it. The demand for finals starts now and finishes round 22. Not comfotable with the handling of all of this so far. 8 weeks for a toe?

Yep. Enough of the false hope. Time to deliver. Malthouse is fair enough.

Looking forward to watching how some of the better orchestrators of the Medical Reports, continue to perfect/ embellish the practice. A week or two before the finals, hope we aren’t up against Adelaide or Carlton who we may run into a week or two later.

Surely there isn’t improper use of medical reports to gain a tactical advantage? Even the AFL would smell that rat?
