  1. This week our key focus was forward connection and cleaning up efficiency 😂 I would argue we took another step back on both of those metrics. That was horrible to watch, I can totally understand why some Dees fans are loathe to attend games if this is what is being served up. We have learnt nothing from years of bombing the ball forward, it just won't sink in. Goods: Defence was excellent. Trac was immense, Fritsch and Lever pleasingly back into form and the people who kept calling for JVR to 'have a rest' clearly have no idea. One thing he hasn't looked is tired. Won't be revisiting this one. Another week of practising forward entries on the track before Collingwood tears us a new one!
  2. It's his life. If he wants to sign a waiver and play, that's entirely up to him. Don't understand why people weigh in on this, it's not up to anyone else but the person who bears the risk.
  3. It's called passion and not accepting mediocrity. Not here for participation ribbons.
  4. Gutless performance. Going by our mediocre club standards I guarantee management are itching to re-sign Goodie for another 3 years and drive a nail into the coffin. No wonder why people aren't turning up. Outside of a freakish run in 2021 with no injuries there has been nothing to commend strategically from this coach. He's a fish out of water and gets outcoached consistently by far worse teams. Players have zero passion, the skills are still woeful and the gameplan is rubbish and one-dimensional. Our forward line has somehow got EVEN WORSE. There's nothing to bring in from Casey that will change this. Fuming.
  5. Pretty cooked when we keep getting beaten at our supposed strengths. Getting real sick of seeing the exact same formula every week, does Goody not have a single card to play? It's not 2021 finals anymore with a freakishly high number of centre clearances - we're having played as well as that since. Recognise it!
  6. he is pretty average 1 on 1, especially in marking contests 😐
  7. It's not like it's unusual for us to play this sloppily. Our core midfield have always been and will always be messy kicks of the footy, and the last few weeks of handballing has been dire to boot. Agree re pushing in the back. Can't understand why they got rid of the hands in the back rule, I thought it was effective and easy to umpire. I don't think they will swap Sparrow for Jordan... Jordan isn't dynamic or powerful enough and they like that in the midfield. The worry is we've had no new young midfielders coming through for a few years now.
  8. Another game, exact same old problems. Skill level & wasted forward connection/composure. Geelong & Collingwood would tear us apart. One quarter of elite pressure and then couldn't be assed and started back pedalling through the middle. Can't really work out who has played well today. Quite a forgettable one. Still can't see any improvement from the back end of last year tbh. P.S - May has an amazing habit of getting in the right spot but then dropping the mark. 🤔
  9. Complete dominance but this is still hard to watch at times. We need to be better than this. Brayshaws's disposal is sloppy as hell today. Not on his own mind you .. but as a senior player he should not be missing targets by this much. Clean it up Melbourne, second week in a row of trash handballing.
  10. Yeah I thought McVee had one of his better games. Generally not a fan of Brayshaw and his NQR moments but he has lifted in the last 2 weeks and been important. May floundered again.
  11. We won, but same old story as most games this year. Poor forward delivery and retention, punctuated by clumsiness and lack of composure in defence at key moments. Except this time we got smashed in the contest too. Disappointing games by Fritsch and Pickett - but Viney completely shut down Rowell after quarter time. We really gotta fix up ground ball at both ends, we're just off the pace and it's killing our potential. Feels like back half of 2022 again.
  12. so little impact on every contest, he just melts away with the lightest touch.
  13. I have never seen so many handballs so consistently hitting the ground until watching us this year 🤔
  14. Schache needs to keep his bloody feet and stay involved in the contest if he wants to differentiate himself from Big Ben.
  15. LOL at our attacking handball attempts. Not going to win any finals if this is how we massacre the basics of football.
  16. Not sure I agree with your call on Oliver thinking his way through his disposals.. He had a game high 9 clangers tonight and was noticeably hacking it blind like his early days. Unfortunately we're not blessed with a midfield who can kick.
  17. Great last quarter but wowee do we [censored] ourselves in the D50 at the moment. Panicked handballs, awful turnovers, blokes not knowing when to go up and when to stay down, blatant blocking frees and the list goes on. Bereft of confidence down there, May is in poor form, Brayshaw so slow to get it on the boot. We look sluggish and scared. Kinda felt like we didn't deserve to win that, if they'd kicked straight in that 5 minute patch in the last I reckon we may have folded.
  18. he's bottom 5 at the moment, looks off.
  19. Concerning that many people think this 'very clearly' crossed the line. The line is also the back of the post. You all need glasses 😂
  20. It was a clear cut point, wasn't even close to crossing the line. Not sure how it could look like a goal to you?
  21. Skills. Still our greatest weakness and always will be with this group, particularly under pressure. How do we have so many poor field (and goal) kickers in one midfield, it's diabolical and hurts us every week. Yuck.
  22. 6 weeks? You're kidding, you know the tribunal looks at whether the player is actually hurt right?
  23. You simply can't play BBB in Round 1 based on this evidence. He's losing every contest.
  24. Pretty poor quarter. Very sloppy in several areas.
