old dee

Is the NBL dead it has been on life support for a few years now but the end may have arrived? I wrote the following elsewhere but thought I would start a thread here. Unlike most others I am a fan of Basketball and used to be a member of the Tigers. I quit when they became "united" . I still like basketball and this year will follow the Tigers in the "Big V' league. There was a time when the NBL was threatening to take on the AFL. I remember in the 90's going to Full houses at the Tennis centre on Friday nights. In my opinion it got a little ahead of itself and spent more than it could afford then moved to Summer and IMO lost its way. seems doomed now with two clubs in receivership another close and three being held up by wealth benefactors. It is said that the owners of Melbourne United have put in $7million over the last three years. It is gone I think and I as a force of one am disappointed. The up side is I can support the Tigers again. I wonder if I would do the same if the dees ended up in the Amos? I think maybe yes.

Sadly Running late I hear Mr Leg after a late change from this morning to 1.00PM. Wonder if they will make Lunar Park next Sunday Was considering taking No.1 GD but at four she is not good at waiting

Mr Leg and dc there seems to be some problems with today's session No players I hear. I thought we had moved on from this sort of thing but it appears not.

No Mr Leg I got almost exactly what I expected.Happy with the result after all it is practise match no.1 I still think we have a bottom six list not a top four one like Freo. We are improving I think things are going to plan. I just think a lot of dees supporters imagine the list is way better than it is is. I think I have said before that 2016 is the year I think we will move up the ladder a fair bit. Nothinhg I have seen so far suggests I am wrong. Happy to be of course.

Sadly you are probably correct dc.But another year like that in 2015 and the noise will get higher.

Banana Alert Tropical Cyclone Lam is rapidly approaching Nth Qld . Things are looking grim. Pat has nothing on this I suggest a trip to the supermarket this morning to build up supplies before the price sky Rockets.

I would be more worried about the weather in Nth QLD. Not looking good for bananas!

I wrote the following on another thread. It seems like the executive are on the way to eliminating PJ the best thing that has happened to the MFC in a decade Is it just me or do others have the feeling that we seem determined to assign ourselves to a permanent spot as an irrelevant club in the AFL? "This club makes it very tiring to be a member and supporter. Just when I thought we were on the improve you get this information. Not sure how many more kicks in the gut I can take. Sad but they are pushing me very close to the edge. One more disaster and I am finished."

Spent most of today from 6.00AM on GD minding duties at one stage we had a concert complete with microphone guitar etc. ( kids have everything these days ) Well after a few songs PA ran out of songs so I had to use " it's a grand Old Flag" She looked at me with disdain then when I ended she said " Pa we are supposed to be having fun" Out of the mouths of babes!
