  1. We don't want to be locked into a predictable pattern and need flexibility. However, playing the corridor generally also means shooting at goal from a more favourable angle and distance. Given that our kicking skills are, overall, so shite there is a certain logic to going that way when the opportunity permits.
  2. Apart from Biffen none of the above show any interest in Davey.Yet his early training was good, he appears fit and he can kick. Is the consensus that he is done and dusted?
  3. The church could have done with a reformer like yourself Biffen. They missed a rare opportunity. Although the Argy has probably washed down the odd Alpaca chop with some of the local brew. BTW if flogging yourself is a prerequisite then quite a few Demonlanders would at least get to the first cut.
  4. I have been a staunch supporter of Watts but he must become more aggressive at the contest - particularly in those marking situations that you allude to. BH takes a much stronger line on this but I have been prepared to allow Watts some slack because he was just a kid. However, I reckon his time has come. This must be a year where he not only garners possesions but is prepared to impact on the contest.
  5. The brown robes displayed a cunningly understated sense of dress that no doubt fulfilled the poverty and humility clauses. However, I'd like to know how you got away with the "cat o nine tails" tucked under your arm.
  6. I'm sure it's a fine shiraz OD but best put the cork back for a while.
  7. Justed checked Master Bate's stats from that game. Footy can be an odd game.
  8. Spot on Pit. Just home from breakfast and thought exactly the same thing. The other rag wasn't much better.
  9. Now that is a "glass half full post". You are a genuine optimist w wus!!!
  10. Do you sit outside that establishment and observe or do actually go inside and do fecal things. I'm just wondering if this is what cost you the papacy?
  11. I like your positivity BRFE, but geez, the above has been trotted out for far too many years. I'm not slashing the wrists just yet but i'm experiencing serious deja vu.
  12. Agree. If someone/club tries to move in on Eddie and the filth, Eddie tells them to F off very quickly. The filth have member numbers, sponsors, patrons and clout to do this. Carlton are also a very powerful player in the AFL. It is all about pulling power and money. Unless we establish some street cred very soon we will pushed/shoved/jerked over to whatever tune Dumbetriou chooses. We need more members, rating power and influential sponsors. Only success draws these things.
  13. We'll will be a seriously improved team when we limit discussion to who is actually on the paddock. The power teams don't worry about who is not playing they expect the team out there to do the job.
  14. Sorry to diverge but at first glance I misread your question. I nearly fell off my chair.
  15. The problem is Stu, we've been "developing" players, lists, gameplans etc for years yet we are still shite. The development story is running a bit thin. It's time for results.
  16. Blame Elwood for starting this. It's called the Irish Virginity Test - but I like the colour scheme. Paddy was planning to get married and asked his doctor how he could tell if his bride is a virgin. The doctor said, ‘Well, you need three things from a DIY shop: a can of red paint, a can of blue paint, and a shovel.’ Paddy asked, ‘And what do I do with these, doc?’ The doc replied, ‘Before the wedding night, you paint one of your balls red and the other ball blue. If she says, “That’s the strangest pair of balls I ever saw”, you hit her with the shovel.’
  17. And re the thread. After watching the NAB last night and, though rather surprised at both the outcome and the quality of the game, we seem a very long way off that pace. This season will satisfy a variety of curiosities I suspect.
  18. Biffo I know you're giving Stuie some tough love but you just have to give him more time. He has, after all, lost his only friend. He is obviously locked in the Denial/Anger stage of his grieving process.
  19. I didn't think we were that good!
  20. Come on, forget outdated notions of chivalry - tell us about them. You can run a workshop. You could be star of the show. I'm sure you won't be unmanly. PS I don't want stuie to know about this. He'll only try to steal the limelight.
  21. Yeah bad luck. Can't believe an appropriately dubious character like you missed out to some w.. from a country that can't hang on to some fly speck islands that no one cares about. Typical catholic molesters.
