  1. It was mainly Miller and Jurrah.

Morton pushed forward on a few occasions and was found as well.

On reflection I don't think either Meesen or Johnson were there at all. they certainly didn't come outside anyway.

Was Newton in the "Whites" team????

  2. I mentioned in my match report earlier that Davey did not play 2nd half and was limping noticably! I hope it was just a precautionaty move but he was clearly limping!

No problem there, I was standing behind Davey in the last quarter while he was enjoying himself relaxing & chatting to the guys on the bench ( no ice, bandages or other vices), you can rest easy on that one...

  3. I think the obvious standout was Bell.... His confidence is already shot, can't see him getting anywhere near a game...

Joel McDonald at the start was interesting to, why would the Mahoney (coach of red team) allow the match of Mac on Spencer???? Very poor start for assistant coach, he better get his act together quickly aswell, we can't afford mismatches that will allow the opposition a couple of easy goals start, due to be slack...

Only injuries to report on the white team, Dunn & Hughes (cramp), great result...

Spencer's kicking has improved out of sight, he can only improve more...

With time Fitzpatrick is going to be a star, the pace he has is amazing & with time, he will provide a fantastic leading target for us..

Jetta did some very good work with the ball & without it, Bennell was impressive, but still has to work on his disposal..

Just a word on a couple of Casey kids to watch out for who looked quite at home at this level, I don't know their names, but no's 11 & 33 (white team), anybody know who they are?? very impressive...

I was impressed with the game plan being followed through with by both teams , of around the half back line / middle, on most occassions the ball was centred & we had players like Sylvia & Strauss bursting through for the handball & kicking to a moving target...

Scully & Trengove were each as impressive for different reasons, Scully played in the middle of the ground more & was very effective with his disposal (hardly off the ground for the match aswell), Trengove spent the majority of the game out wide & provided a option on most times (and was used) & his disposal is 1st class...

I left there thinking, well who is going to miss out against Freo???? Bloody hard decision for the selectors, About 35 players should be in the running

  4. Well channel nine just showed Jimma in full flight also.sorry that I did not notice others there as well

Seven did the same with Jim, as a feature story..

    Bring on Sat week...

How come Luna Park day is so low key,??? I couldn't find anything about it on MFC site...

  5. Sorry -forgot to mention Channel 9 was there last night.Maybe on the news service tonight.

All of the stations were there Ten have already gone with just the MacDonald answer to the the Fev question. Great ammo for Fev later this year unfortunatley...

  6. I've tried all the above mentioned league numbers started by some posters including Mr Morton, BringbackBarassi and the like... unsuccessful. They are all full. So I've started another league if anyone is interested to take me on....ha ha.

Demonland Premier League - "Demonland PL"....superior to all other leagues I guess... B)

    League Number: 334516

Come on...I know you want to!

    I'm going back-to-back this year. ;)

Is this league DT of SC ?????

  7. Both of these boys live near me & in talking to them, they left me with no misunderstanding as to their dedication to the task ahead. During the Xmas break they really worked themselves hard to get an extra advantage in the fitness stakes, Jetta in particular is going to make an impression this year I believe, as he has more competition for a position in the team. He has been told that midfield time is the goal he needs to prepare himself for & HE is ready to show he is... (You guys remember Baker (ST Kilda) trying to rough him up late in the season & coming off second best), well get ready to see more some real tough team play from one of our future stars...

  8. hey, DR...

it's Victoria Park, where the pies used to play (probably when I was your age)...

    the generations are interesting...

whispering jack was apologising to our young players last game day that some of them would have to don the hated black and white jumper to even up the teams...

guys just shrugged and did it...

WJ and I are here to tell you that the dees were the dominant team in 1958, ready to equal the collingwood record of 4 premierships in a row...

we kicked poorly for goal in the grand final (reminds me of our last forum game against the blues) and got beaten by an inferior team...

collingwood will always be "the filth" to us...

I do remember going to Vic Park in the old days, but wasn't fortunate enough to around when thosr flags were won... Started going to games in 65, how kucky was I????..

Just ask the guys who played deep in the forward line in the last match & you will hear that the filth is alive & well, unfortunately... A side issue, maybe someone who is still playing, could borrow a can of the miracle spray & elastised bandages, just in case....

  9. Rollo, I've got another 3 starters for you, Wise Guy Sam, Omit & Capt Concussion, the latter two will confirn their availability as soon as they can... Big Footy guys are looking forward to representing the Red & Blue...

    Which ground is the venue???

  10. loved the sacrifice Supermercado. My photos will be around sooner or later (if they're any good, or even if their not...) Good wins!

G'day guys, 1st time poster who had a great day at Vic Park & the pub yesterday. (the old bloke who was carrying the drinks out during the 1st game with a beer in one hand)...

Thanks for the lift to Richmond station after the pub Barass, much appreciated....

Do you think for the next games, Big Footy guys could be welcomed aswell?, as there seems to be some guys there who would be keen. They are not all nuff nuffs & we are after all trying to sing from the same hymn book...

Whispering Jack, I will try to contact you soon regarding 'inside footy' mags, the era I'm keen to get copies of are 79-83..
