I totally agree about the nfl analogy, however China is such a massive market you only need to have a small interest and the game will be successful. On that note the NFL are also doing some really good work here in Shanghai at least. They have auskick style sessions at Luwan Stadium every other week, with kids fitted out in the full kit. Looks cool.

I'll be attending the Shanghai game as i live there and have a big involvement with the local Shanghai Tigers AFL team. A few here are underestimating how popular afl is going to be in China. There are already multiple Chinese teams in Guangzhou, and the programs from there are rapidly expanding into other areas. I have personally been involved in numerous auskick clinics at Shanghai schools, and the kids are loving it. The dollars are being spent and the game is growing. The buzz around Shanghai about the game is amazing. I think the afl are onto a winner here.

I use express vpn and watch through my aus Telstra account on the afl app. I'm in china and it has the occasional buffering but is watchable. Pm me and I can give you an express vpn code so we both get some free months for referral.

I thought the same, the wording of the package is misleading. The club advised the $215 INCLUDES the $185 watchafl subscription. This is correct. The $185 is for any other membership package.

I keep getting playback issues as I have a galaxy tab 3. A two year old tablet on recent android software is not supported apparently. What a joke!

Anyone else finding International membership a total rort this year? $215 for the exact same (except access to one game) perks as an armchair membership gets for $72. Double the price of last year and that included access to the watch afl app. Now if you want that it's $400! MFC trying to pull one over on all the expats. I don't mind giving money to the club. But that price is just stupid money in comparison to other memberships.
