  1. I can't see any chance of him landing at melbourne as pointed out by other posters Hawthorn are prepared to use pick 9 as we speak and if port demand more and this falls through pick 9 it is in the ND.... be nice to get him for nothing but maybe another will slip through if its going to happin this may be the year for it. there are some big names being floated around and maybe more next week going to be pretty interesting more so than years gone by

  2. It was sad to read Jimm'a twitter to hear the sad news that a small brain tumour has been found. However, the great news , is no other cancer has been found on any other part of his body. Jimmy - for all of us- please God make this the last hurdle you have to come up with. Hope the Dees give you great uplift in 2010.

I am sure all of us -Demonlanders send our best wishes to the whole Stynes family.

    thinking of you.

Terrible news this is about something much larger than footy itself... i have idolised this great man since i was a young boy with the number 11 on my back not because he was a great footballer but an icon and true champion of life. Best of Luck Jim not a day will go by without me thinking of you..

  3. Football Karma Arrives To Demonland At Draft Time

Settle down guys!! Football Karma has entered the building.

Now I'm not blaming everyone ... However, many around here need to hold their heads in shame.

When you continually consistently belittle any or all of your players & staff ... what do you expect.

Respect starts at home ... we will never get it from the whole football community if we dont start displaying it in our own back garden.

IMHO ... Its time around here we get rid of the negativity ... the glass is not half empty its half full.

Im sure I will get the normal "noise" back in my face. However, I'm calling for Demonland to take some leadership ...

I'm calling for restraint with regards to negative towards the Melbourne Football Club ... sure you can have an opinion but lets keep it constructive.

IMHO ... we are creating a very un-healthy culture that needs to be address ... stop criticising & start supporting!!!!

Could not have said it any better myself i think from today forward we ALL need to support the MFC, its staff and players nothing wrong with constructive criticism i love ther football club as much as any of you on here but i despise reading all the negative [censored] all the time.....

PS ... I never said we cant bag the [censored] out of our opposition!!!

  4. For the record i would draft this Kid has the makings to be anything even a ruckman (which i think MFC badly need) but could solve the problem everyone seems to be concerned with KPP he looks like he will be a project player of sorts but seems to have some talent and very athletic and lets face it that goes along way these days re: NicNat

But the qusetion is Pick #18?? probably to high but will he be there at #34?? I don't know as i hav'nt researched this too much but is he invited to the draft camp??

we all love LJ who would have thought after playing a few games for collingwood in the VFL he would be were he is today and probably the most exciting thing in AFL....

  5. What ?

Scully would have been top 3 this year. Rich slid because recruiters knew that he struggled with hard tags, lacked pace and had poor endurance. Scully on the other hand has shown that by comparison he doesn't struggle in the same regard. Most people in footy would have known that Rich would have performed roughly at the level he has this year, it's his upside from here that raises doubts. He'll be a fine 200 game player, but Scully will have a better career than Rich. Rich had the benefit of other teams sitting on Black and Power, but in time they'll sit on him. I reckon he'll struggle. Scully would have also been ranked ahead of Hill and Hartlett.

In Adelaide the football commentators say that Trengove's SANFL career shades Bryce Gibbs at the corresponding stage. Hartlett went at pick 4 and Trengove is better.

Also, this draft may well be thin outside the top 8, or so, but it can only be judged 4-5 years down the track. I'll back our recruiters if they see value anywhere in the first dozen.

McLean, McDonald, Jones, and Moloney are too similar. Obviously McDonald is only around for one more year, but I'd definately be trying to trade one of the other 3. It just makes sense, especially with Grimes, Scully and Sylvia playing more midfield next year. We have the worst midfield in the league, yet some supporters want to retain average one paced players.

Mate i totally agree with everything you say,

Scully is an 18 year old skinny boddied kid but my god can play, has class and the tank to run all day

Trengove IMO was the stand out player in the under 18 carnival and is getting better from reports he is all but as good as Gibbs in the same league

And i also agree with Jones, Moloney and Mclean one has to go..... Mclean is the most skillfull out of the lot but is far too slow and always has been the other too are just HARD nuts and will be fully complemented with some class around them Grimes, Sylvia, Davey and younger brigade Scully, Trengrove (fingers crossed), blease and co

  6. Guys, I watched John Butcher playing today in the West Gippsland Latrobe seniors Grand Final.

As most of the papers have stated John is a great mark but his kicking is a very big worry. Today, he had 14 disposals for 9 kicks 5 handballs, 7 marks and finished with 1.5 and one out on the full. He is a tall kid who needs to improve big time to be able to take a game by the balls, even if it is a game of country football.

My point is that he is a DUD X 1000 and we will not be taking him after bumping into one Barry Pendergast in the pisser after his comments.

The final result was a win to Maffra 7.27.69 to Traralgon's 9.12. 66.

An absouloute gem of a game, apart from Butcher, who butchered the ball.

Ps.... sorry for any e typos as i am smached@!!!! hahahaha :)

    IlovE MFC

Hi all first post here have been reading and following for a while now.... I too was at the game i am a traralgon lad but had a special interest in watching John Butcher like all other melbourne fans i am very interested in who will be our number #2 pick in the upcoming draft as i believe this is our most important year of drafting IMO.. Anyway I totaly agree melbourne won't and should not draft this kid at pick #2 he cannot kick.... but i must admit i thought his work rate was pretty good and seems to read the play well. I think there may be an oppurtunity there at pick #18 if he slides which he should. But that will depend if the FD beleive he's kicking can be improved and the draft camp should detirmine this. Anyway i am sold on trengrove @ number #2 and been since the under 18's carnival.
