  1. theoretically he could just as easy let the comment go in a post-match presser or some such
  2. Though it was obviously to some extent tongue-in-cheek, those that pondered a massive run home did so in the wake of the win down at Geelong. A win that PROVED beyond a shadow of a doubt what this team/coach/gameplan is capable of at their best. That is precisely why everyone is so p'd off about what has happened in the 8 games since (particularly the 2 most recent). IF we had bothered to replicate the performance of the Cats game every week of the season we would have cleared 10-12 wins easily. That's the problem, for some reason we can't just keep bringing the same effort 4 quarters 22 games a year. Your thinking seems to be that instead of holding up our best as the target to be achieved, our expectations should be instead lowered to match our worst.
  3. Oh good for you with your positivity Most of us have watched 9 years of failure, including losing 70 of our last 86 matches and have had enough Clearly a 96 point loss and a comfortable loss to the bottom side are terrible indicators that yet again we seem to be failing to improve You can keep that smile on your face for another 9 years if you wish The rest of us are having a perfectly natural reaction to a dismal situation
  4. I am over this I find myself pondering: Is he really as good as we are making out? Does it even matter how good he is if the rest of the team is so poor? Why would he stay here and waste what could be an outstanding career at a real club?
  5. He's completely right though -we ARE an incredibly negative bunch and it is worth considering that possibly in some way this negatively affects the team Clearly we have every right to be negative, and Roos is not saying we don't, he's just pointing it out
  6. Jetta, Lumumba, Tyson What a year these boys have all had
  7. Here we go The sneering articles are going to start coming now as every hack starts kicking us when we're down again I am sure they have just been itching for us to inevitably turn to garbage again so they can get the kicking boots back on and that will be 4 officially knifed coaches in 9 years too
  8. no he wasn't, he was in a 50-50 contest in which the ball went to ground and using strength and agility he got the ball and skirted around his man for what should have been a well-deserved goal if you're talking about the day in general, you have a stronger point. Needed to nail those ones in the first qtr before the miserable tone of the game was set
  9. out: Colin 'pokerface' Garland. I don't care what the other changes are.
  10. I like the vast majority will not being going anywhere near it I might actually leave the city for the day juust so I can be further away from it
  11. Are you serious? You are suggesting the club bases this week's selction on the viewing experience of yourself and 3 other Melbourne supporters that will be at the game.
  12. no need for a mountain, your point is utter tripe so youre saying if you were happy we got Roosy, you have to remain happy and supportive of him even if he leaves this club with us on the bottom of the ladder otherwise you are fairweathered, or something yeah great point mate makes heaps of sense
  13. Yes, I loved Mitch Clark before he totally betrayed us and now I hate him Isn't that amazing
  14. I obviously have more reasons that that. You can tell that through the way I actually stated them. Like the average hack poster here you just change the content of the other person's post willy nilly and respond that instead. Shut up.
  15. that would only be allowed if the player in question played for North, Saints, Doggies or us - all interstate sides and 'big' vic clubs are immune
  16. obviously it's more than that, or you wouldnt be on this website every day like the rest of us
  17. It is hard to believe we are following up the misery of the last 2 weeks with a visit to Perth to face the top side 6 losses in a row to Freo Ave margin 69 points Last time we played them in Perth 90 point loss Head-head $1.08 vs $7.50 They are playing like a bunch of gutless, disinterested hacks right now 20 goal loss, at least, very much on the cards
  18. He doesn't give a stuff, expresses absolutely zero emotion and never even opens his mouth as one of the few senior players around - and his footy is just deplorable. I've come to hate his guts to be completely honest about it.
  19. They certainly did mate How true is it though? How far back do you have to go to find a season where we didn't have a bunch of our best 22 miss massive parts of the season. It is just par for the course every year. No doubt it has something to do with the fact that our footy department has less budget than everyone else and therefore we pay the lowest for all the industry dregs that are our staff 'professionals' and the equipment etc and as such we have a bottom rung fitness/medical equation. If you are one of the better sports physios in the city why would you take a job with the Dees when the Hawks will pay you more. Very simple.
  20. That's the thing though, we have had many games this year where we couldshoulda maybe won it if a few things had gone our way. The reason they don't go our way continually is because we lack effort, we are weak, we are stupid and we are clumsy. As I said yesterday, watching cripps kick an easy one off the carpet due to the failure of our defenders, and moments later Hogan and Watts both miss easy set shots - illustrates the difference. We just stuff everything up.
  21. There will be a different bunch in the sheds all season next year, the same as there is every single other year, at this club where nothing works
  22. I no longer want to have this negative emotional force as part of my life, FFS there is enough carp to put up with in life But I absolutely love footy The idea of changing clubs makes me sick to my stomach, I couldn't do it I actually wish we would fold, that way we all have no choice but to move on, and forget the red and blue Block it out like a repressed emeory and pretend it never happened Will never be the same though, supporting someone else.. it's not linked to my family and my childhood How friggin depressing
  23. R1 was good too. That's only 5 out of 20 though, the other 15 have almost all been nightmare stuff. Yesterday was actually like being tortured, I was literally moaning writhing in pain in my seat. That's not what supporting a footy side is supposed to be about, and we have endured too much of it for too long.
  24. The problem is that it is up to the PLAYERS to put in the effort and contest with everything they have on the field. Withdrawing your financial support does not affect them, their pay will stay the same, if the club folds they will go elsewhere. While a massive exodous of protesting members will certainly be felt by the administration, the players themselves won't even notice or care.
  25. and when people inevitably talk footy around me I will quietly leave the room
