given how close this year's field is after the top couple, we are almost guaranteed that somebody around pick 13 will go to a strong club and start off guns blazing. I don't think enough is being made out of this guy. He was the no. 1 midfielder last draft. I saw a whole heap of PS training and I thought he looked a lot more prepared than Brayshaw did, and we all know how AB went. I seem to link this article a bit, but it's worth another read to think about how when CP debuts in 2016, it won't be like a first year player. It will be enhanced by the year on the sidelines like it was with Hogan. He's definitely gotten better and he gives us some sublime moments but it can't be denied that his overall contribution is still way too far and in-between. There is no doubt whatsoever though that his mistakes get heavily magnified, as they do for Dawes, and formally Toumpas. It's the DL whipping boy syndrome.

Tell you what, nine years of highlight clips and phantom draft writeups has me extremely jaded about looking into our draft prospects. It's a lot of info and thinking that ultimately ends up having minimal bearing on what actually happens once you have the player. To repeat what we have all been saying/already know - Viney, Hogan, Brayshaw, Tyson and others have started their young careers well under our new regime. Please God let that be an indicator that our Toumpas/Cook/Gysberts etc days are behind us and we can now start getting full value on the talent we get our hands on. Please.
