  1. I'm sure plenty of people had lots of excuses and 'patience please' for Brad Miller, who went on to kick truckloads of goals for the club Daniher had him pencilled in at CHF for our premiership side It took us 8 years and 133 games to finally give up on him, by which time another era had passed us by You're suggesting it is ME that's in denial?
  2. some people might actually watch Jack Watts play football in round 1 and then come here to discuss that player based on what they have ACTUALLY SEEN
  3. if only it tested your ability not to make condescending know-all commentary B)
  4. sadly in agreement not being switched on at the opening bounce, getting 4-5 goals down and needing a bake at 1qt, catchup footy all day or game is tight until half or 3qt, the enemy comes out fired up and takes it up a notch, we turn to water seen it waaaay too many times
  5. If only we had pick 1 and 2 in the national draft and could get the best two mids available
  6. well its not quite the same thing, i mean we have had more than our fair share of games where we were the better side for 3 quarters and totally lost the plot on the other, and lost. It used to be the first quarter was our favourite for doing this. I think it's mental weakness, something that haunts us as a club. Haven't enjoyed seeing it in the last 3 practice matches
  7. let me know who wins the 2015 Melbourne Cup so I can back it in yeah cheers
  8. you CAN have one terrible quarter that costs you the match. This is something we have been notorious for, for a long time.
  9. exactly, on the drive home from that smashing of Sydney, I didn't hear anyone on the commentary team or on talkback talking about how they don't like the things Baileys says. All I heard was talk of multiple premierships looming FCS
  10. the player in question had almost zero to do with the above accomplishments, are you debating that? Morton is not looking all that hot either but apart from that we've done really well with our list management under Bailey, particularly trading for Gysberts/Grimes, Jurrah, McKenzie, Joel M etc etc i'll just comment on what actually happens on the field and leave the mindless speculation and forecasting to you thanks. When he actually gets out there and plays like a #1 draft pick, the way Tom Scully does, i'll acknowledge it, but unlike yourself i'm not just going to pretend that I know for a fact it is going to happen in 5 years (or whatever infinite time period you seem to be permitting him) because I just got back from 2015 in my DeLorean and saw him win the coleman
  11. Hey does anyone remember drawing and losing by a point to the eventual premiers last year Or getting very close to the dogs and Freo in WA What about 3 wins in a row that included a 73 point victory I swear some people have been asleep since 2008 when Bailey starting gutting a horrible list and filling it with high draft picks and good recruits
  12. did anyone see Hurley last night? Why can't Watts do that, excuses, excuses should have taken Hurley at 1
  13. looks like Bruce had to change clubs to get any praise at demonland
  14. player X on team Y did this in 19ZZ and therefore exactly the same thing will pan out for the MFC in the future x+y+z and that's how footy works right?
  15. He's straight out saying he is undisciplined. there's a number of little things about him that make me wonder how interested he really is. When you campare him to someone like Scully there is a fair difference in application/dedication/desire it would seem
  16. That's my main concern, I watched him like a hawk last week and that's what I saw too
  17. That is absurd, who in this thread is asking for 'domination'? I personally am asking for any sort of valuable contribution at all
  18. Posters who say "give the kid time because (insert excuses)" infinitely, despite what is actually happening on the field, infuriate me There have been too many Brad Millers at this club who stuck around and never stepped up and IMO it has a bit do with this 'patient' attitude so many have. Fire up!
  19. Frawley was 5 months older than Watts at the comparitive time of their draft - surely you are not suggesting this means you just subtract a year from their comparison! In 2009, his third year at the club, Frawley played 20 games, won most improved and the following year became AA playing genuine KPD That is what Watts will have to do to this year and next year to equate to Frawley, do you think that looks likely right now? Right now he does not even resemble a key position player again I'm not getting stuck into him for fun I just wish defensive supporters would be a touch more objective and realistic.
  20. so will I, but we won't see it!
  21. dead right last 2 weeks have done nothing to reassure me of this, but the sensible part of me knows that the last 2 weeks probably mean very little
  22. excellent has not signed with Casey yet, this could screw the deal hopefully
