By 3pm this arvo, there will be people on here betting their kid's life on it that they have heard it's confirmed. Actually, I'd say by 10:30am.
-
I reckon GWS would feel like that Cambodian kid throughout that Scully trade. They've taken Hawthorn's $5, done wee's in 6 empty bottles (that they got out of a bin for free), rolled up some dried cow manure and lawn clippings and told them it was a packet of Dunhill Blue. Won't be until Clarkson takes a sip and a drag to realise he was royally shafted.

I think it's close to a pretty good deal. I'd personally rather we go for their pick 19 though.
-
That's because we don't have another first round to use for May, and of all players on our list (that we could be happy to move on), Hogan is our best chance to get this done. This is my point - moving Hogan might net us Pick 5. That doesn't mean May is worth Pick 5, but that's what we will have to spend because we don't have any other option. So if we want him, that's what we pay. It's not that difficult to understand.
-
You're acting as though we have other options and are not exploring them. We can only deal with what we've got. We don't have a first rounder, and if that's what GC want for May, we're doing what we can to get one in to do the deal. We don't have a huge amount of bargaining power, and it's not as though we can just pull a pick out of our [censored] to make a deal happen.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KADE KOLODJASHNIJ

Just reported on Trade Talk Radio that a deal for KK is imminent. Source was Craig Cameron from GC. Whoever the host is suggested our pick in the 50s would get it done. -
@rpfc sorry, just re-read you post. Means f all as usual. Carry on.

Please explain...

You're screwed now @Drunkn167. When you have the public backing of the Administration Department, you're best to start clearing out your locker. I'm tipping we'll get a 4th rounder for you. It's not you, it's the industry.

I can sense a Blue on the way with that comment. If so, this thread could get quite Tasty all of a sudden.

I think it's very close to the right deal, but I would be pushing for GC to include KK and Pick 19 in that deal. A shuffle of picks too. Something like; In; May, KK, Pick 24 Out; Pick 5, Pick 34 Means we are taking Pick 11 and 24 in to the draft, and when combined with May and KK, has cost us Hogan and Pick 34. I would rate Hogan = May & KK (in terms of value to our needs). Shuffling Picks 5 & 34 (2420 points) for Pick 11 & 24 (2114).

Sicko.

The uncertainty in all this is the type of contract we would offer May next year. If he wants out, and is still happy to come to us, his contract won't be as great in 12 months. Therefore, the compo might not be as high as we think. (That's what I'd be reminding GC when I offer Pick 11!).
-
So, according to McLure, that makes May equal to Hogan. He's a goose.

Darwin Awards...

Which is basically the same as what @mauriesy said, which you challenged, then started talking about cars. Ok.
-
What about Pick 11, and MFC 2019 First Round Pick, for May, KK and Pick 19?
-
Great outcome. I'm sure I've heard someone else mention something similar... Oh wait, there it is...
-
Tyson doesn't want to go there. He's contracted, so we will get him to North (which is where he wants to go).
-
Pretty sure that's the sort of role that KK is coming to play (that tall, fast winger that some clubs love), so we wouldn't be looking at Hall.
-
Red, the issue is that if we play too hardball on Hogan, we could end up missing out on any gun kid in this year's draft, as well as missing out on May, and our list is in no different shape than what it was two weeks ago.
-
I'm with you Mauriesy. As it stands, we don't have a first round pick in this year's draft. We also need a quality, solid key defender, a back up ruck and some speed on the outside. If we can manage to get all of those things, as well as maintaining a position in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounds this year, and all we've lost is Hogan, Tyson and Kent, then it's big ticks from me.

Academy points.

21 year old (only just), and has played 10 games. Harsh criticism, but your views are appreciated.

But it's not a straight comparison of the output individually (ie Hogan 2019 vs May 2019). It's the output of the individual for our team (ie Hogan & Melbourne 2019 v May and Melbourne 2019).
