  1. Well said. Great article too. Well done.
  2. +1 Jack. I also like that MFC spoke to MM about Neeld. Proves that we covered all angles, and MM was probably asked "Sure you don't want to coach us?". The powerpoint method has not proved a winner for us before, and you have to hand it Garry Lyon; there's no doubt in my mind that he will have been instrumental in discarding the 'corporate-style' interview. Lyon knows what is required and has made a bee-line for it. I'm pumped about next year.
  3. Neeld interview on Dee Tv - "what type of coach will you be?" - "I'll be very level, and very direct" (arches eyebrow and looks at interviewer in such a way as to say - these soft bastards are about to get their comeuppance). I'm head over heals. As usual, our off-season will be more exciting than our on-season. Hopefully that's about to change.
  4. I picked up on that too. I wonder if he's being diplomatic. Otherwise it's a nothing statement. I think the former is true, he got the term 'hard' in, without making too hard a statement. Love him already.
  5. Alert. Alert. Get your leather elbow patches off. This is the 'new Melbourne Football Club'. None of the old chestnuts allowed.
  6. Ouch. I think Garry's gained a lot of experience since then. My chin is up.
  7. Garry Lyon cares about our club. He came back to our club to help it out, and to help out his mate Jimmy. Garry Lyon understands the modern game. Garry Lyon understands the nature of the problems we've had with management and culture. Garry Lyon will have had a huge input into who we chose as coach. That is enough for me. Welcome Coach Neeld. I'm really looking forward to the next few years.
  8. Disappointed Ross Lyon gave us the ass - but if MM is still a chance - awesome. If not, I'd much prefer to keep Viney than to find a different untried assistant coach.
  9. Inside word. Hatred rating - 7/10. Bullshyte. You wouldn't be posting here if that were true. It beggars belief. Hatred rating - 6/10. Rings hollow when the person saying it can't spell Mlebuoner. Bleeds Red and Blue. Hatred rating 10/10. Could you be any more melodramatic? FGS - say what you want say and do it succinctly. I have absolutely and positively and unashamedly no time for people who use these ridiculous and overstated and boring and self-indulgent personal grand-standing rubbish cliches. I know a week's a long time in football, but the chickens always seem to come home to roost each week when we start taking a good hard look at ourselves in the mirror. Probably could have done a better job at that, but CBF'd. Which repeated, mindless cliches do you hate?
  10. Fair enough - your show. And an enjoyable one at that.
  11. Your loyalty to the task is appreciated. However... a large group of our players did not try because they wanted a certain person sacked. The stats from that game do not convey our (variable) abilities and consistencies. I haven't asked for other blow-outs to be excluded. We got smashed over and over again - and as you've previously stated - it's part of being a young side - no problem with that. The Geelong game was different. Love your work RFPC - not trying to pick an argument.
  12. Our players didn't try 100% against Geelong for reasons well-known to many here. So considering the purpose of these (very interesting) stats (thank you) is for analysis and prediction, they should reflect our best efforts. The stats from the Geelong game do not. Otherwise Hawthorn is a 9 - point better side than Gold Coast. Thanks for the interesting thread.
  13. I must now eat my words, as I'm sure they can be dug up easily. And BLOODY HAPPY to do so. Awesome.
  14. I agree. Give Bate a chance in the middle.
  15. You obviously rate Tom Scully very highly. I have seen glimpses of what he may be, and he's a very exciting prospect. But if you just step out of the circle for a moment, and imagine that he may not be what we think he'll be, or that his injuries will prevail - where does that place your viewpoint? The question is, basically, how much faith do you have in this very young kid with potential, but with a history of injuries and subsequent poor games? Not having a go RFPC, just think that sometimes we get a bit wrapped up in the hype.
  16. Interesting. Is that an inside word or something I missed? He seems to be playing in a few different positions, which is strange if he's been given that message... Has anything been said about Jurrah's role in the fwd line?
  17. Fun but ludicrous. Can't resist. B: Tapscott Garland Rivers HB: Grimes Frawley(VC) Blease C: Scully McKenzie Bail HF: Sylvia Watts Jurrah F: Petterd Martin Howe Foll: Jamar Trengove© Moloney I/C: Jones Green Gysberts Jetta Coach: Malthouse Asst coach: Viney Does anyone have any idea what will +/- should happen as far as the line coaches go?
  18. GWS rescind the un-signed offer they've made to Tom Scully and he stays for an amount of money that doesn't [censored] every other player at the club off. Choco Williams coach. JT captain. LG - Green, Moloney, Jordie, JW, JGrimes. Delist: Morton, Newton. Start giving Lucas Cook a game. More games for Max Gawn. A Ferrari. Edit: JG can = Jack Grimes or Jordan Gysberts.
  19. Awesome - my first deleted comment! Warning - don't speak out against Schwab. Any [censored] wonder this club is in disarray.
