Well said. What was it 5? weeks ago Max got double teamed by these two and we lost. This time we leave another All Australia in the stands and go in short as and then play Schache as the sun. Beggars belief. Then Max did mark finally in the third he carries on and goes back and misses a sitter. Love the guy but it was embarrassing

That’s a great call. When they were on top it felt like we had 2-3 going for the ball/player like yesteryear. Because of that when they won it or got it free they had players on the outside and that’s why it seemed they had so meant extra at the contest.

Not gonna be a popular opinion but is it time for a Captains call NRL style. 1 a game. So howlers like the above can be appealed. And it might force the umpires to start using their whistle. Something needs to change.

Couldn’t agree more. They were hot on us for holding the ball but plenty of times they got away with incorrect disposal. It’s the complete inconsistency which makes everyone so angry. How in earth Bowey’s mark was not allowed in the 4th when he moved his player but then some Carlton player moved Kossey in the same way a few minutes later it’s fine. That’s what drives us mad.

The lack of holding the balls paid to us was and absolute disgrace.

Subbing out a small in and under player in the wet when their best tall is out of the game speaks volumes of our coaches. Game lost there. Could not believe my eyes. To think Petty, Max, Grundy or JVR could have done more than Jmac in the last quarter needs their head read. Sorry but there you are Simon and Adam. How many of their talls kicked goals from pack marks in the last? Utter stupidity considering the conditions.

Calmest i’ve been after a loss for a while as frustrating as it was. Taken some time to think and really it was a bad week to have all the changes. Sparrow was a massive out with the conditions as they were. Protect the head and all that but how soft is the game now ffs-Grundies freee tonight was just as bad fmd. Anyway! Tmac did ok but then JVR was -1 goal so that didn’t work. Would rather have had Bowey playing on one leg than JVR on for last quarter and a half as it was so wet and unsuited to that style player and maybe get Jmac to tag Butters but anyway, again, I digress. Salem comes in for Brayshaw in the backline and Brayshaw replacing Sparrow clearly didn’t work. Plus we missed the third tall down back with Petty out but Tmac probably did as well forward as Petty would have had he been playing there, so call it a draw except Petty Ives better and may have presented more-but calling 2 goals a draw…. All in all a frustrating game and wish the coaches would fix things up sooner. Really thought we’d have runaway with it in the 4th and disappointing to see the run die off. Wish the umpires would use their whistle in the last 5 minutes like they had all game and pay the throws and holds down our end (plus the obvious 2nd 50m penalty). But that would just paper over the cracks for this team and let’s just hope as such it’s the loss we had to have.

Exactly. Which is why it’s a great tactic 7/9 of the time. And maybe make those other two two in a row to keep ‘em guessing ffs. But to go 100% or just didn’t work at all tonight. Even more in the wet.

Whilst plenty of other things cost us the game, it’s clearly bad when the commentary picks it out multiple times. It’s time to spend more money on better full time umpires.
