  1. In two years time we won't be 'led' by Green, Davey, Rivers, Moloney, Jamar, and Sylvia.

But by Grimes, Scully, Trengove, Gysberts, McKenzie, Jones, Petterd, Frawley, Garland, Watts, and Jurrah.

Competitors with more talent that rarely put their head down and show a defeatist attitude like Green, Davey, and Rivers.

I mean, did anyone here really think that with Moloney, Green, Davey, Jamar, Sylvia, and Rivers as our established core group, that we would challenge with them doing the bulk of the work?

Most of those players will need to be playing predominantly periphery roles if we are to be a top 4 team.

    Thank god Bailey tanked.

I thought the 'house' was just in need of major renovations when Daniher left...

Turns out the house was an illusion, there was nothing there but a mailbox being held up by an injured Beamer.

    Two things:

    1. Jamar, Sylvia and Moloney are great leaders, going in hard. green will show this in time as he has done in previous years.

    2. You say the players have a defeatist attitude, and then are happy that Bailey tanked?

  2. The bloke is seriously talented but certainly isn't showing it.

If we're dropping him, we're doing it with the other injuries and without the facade of 'general soreness'.

    Fast becoming yesterday's hero

  3. Moloney is a flat-track bully, I'm afraid. He has beaten up on the juvenile midfields with Jamar pushing it down his throat, but in our three worst efforts for the year (Hawthorn, WCE and today) he has been AWOL. Swallow spanked him today!

Need to disagree. Moloney is an incredibly talented footballer, most midfielders in the comp would struggle with Martin in the ruck full time.

How would Jobe Watson be playing this year without Hille and Bellchambers?

  4. G'day fellas. Used to post around here a few years back, but you can consider me a newbie. Known as Balennon37 around bigfooty if anyone browses

On the topic of Green: I certainly feel as though he's really been thrown into a job that was always JMac's or Bruce's. To see Junior dumped after a fantastic year and Bruce walk, i'm not sure he expected to become the most experienced player at the club over night.

I was enraged with him today, but i've had a few hours to calm down since I got home from the game and will give him a few more weeks to ease in.

To the OP: I can't think of a worse example of a player in our older/middle aged brigade to give the captaincy to than Colin Sylvia. Brilliant in every sense of the word, but doesn't show it. He's starting to play a good quarter or game every once in a while and living off that for a month before rinsing and repeating it again.

  5. Bloody [censored] amazing news Two Sheds! Stoked for you and wish you all the best. I'm only 15 myself but I'va had to have a blood test, EEG and MRI to look over dizzy spells which the neurologist says is probably due to migraine. Get the results checked on friday but I'm still nervous that they might find a tumour or epilepsy (this paling in insignificance to the former). Can't comprehend what must have been going through your head.

    Good On Ya Bud

  6. Had a great time watching robbo over the years.......his 7 goal hall against collingwood in 2007 was fantastic!

If MFC had of kicked 400 less goals in the last decade, than we'd still would be in the same position we are now...

Except we would be playing alongside Fitzroy, not in the AFL

  7. This view is offered quite a bit I think - was there ever a time where crap wasn't written on this forum?

I agree Robbo's speech came from the heart and as a long time fan of Robbo it was sad to see - but I think there were elements of it that reminded me of the very elements that frustrated us all. It was pretty much all about Robbo and there was little consideration for the club's plans.

"The footy club owes you nothing, because it gives you the chance to run onto the MCG and play in these colours. The footy club owes you nothing"

  8. I see him becoming a Goddard type, capable of kicking 4 goals in a half as a forward, dominating the midfield and being an AA backman.

The thought of him as a permanent CHF makes me drool though.

    x2

Just imagine Cale and Jack up forward in a few years when they've developed a bit more muscle.

    Rare talent this one is
