  1. Doesn't like Melbournefc, so labels us in the formal tones. IMO its a sort of wannabe takeover from eddie, to drown us so the Pies step into our shoes.
  2. chookr, please could you put the link up, and I'll try it again.
  3. Hi rm, it didn't work for me. The page opened then quickly shifted to paywall. then I tried a number of ways to get past it without success so I just shut it. Go-D's.
  4. HaHaHa,,, OK. Tracca is a solid Unit. I did get a good chuckle.. thanks dnimd
  5. I wonder about OBaker & about Dion. as defensive players. What has Hawthorne been doing the last 2 years? Just Roughy ? And a follower in the ruck. Not very tall, forward? very mobile and nippy. I wonder if we need that extra tall (Frost) against the Hawks? edit: Alternatively, maybe TSmith could be a handy tweener for the hawks matchups.
  6. not interested in paywalls
  7. I can't see any detail, its too small to see whats happening.
  8. Its probably a good idea for our players to feel some anxt for their spots. Our club goes much better in recent years, when we feel its a big challenge; and when we get comfortable, then we tend to relax and drop our intensity. Its a habit of this clubs personality. same goes for individual players. Add them together and the team goes off. comfortable D's = bad for us.
  9. Just as an aside to this week. I'd like to celebrate Fritzy's arrival so far. And Jake Levers decision to make Melbournefc home. I cannot wait til we go in as under-cats, against the 'Crows', with a full list.
  10. He's just a bit out of touch atmo imo. There's been a few of them outa sorts, but in a changing shaped side its also a little to be expected, that some will feel the differences.
  11. Yes, political-correctness leads us to be too nice. off-field and on-field. It effects the perceptive environment around the whole club, effecting supporters across the AFL competition. we are thought to be holier than thou, to be right all the time and to be 'above' other supporters of the AFL. This effects us in a poor way Re finding new supporters. when new supporters to the game want to choose a side. It infiltrates the club attitudes & so on the staff and the players as well. it is a part cause of the bruise-free concept as well. And our susceptibility to become comfortable with ourselves, and so the players as well, leading to drop offs in games, and also if unchecked, poor seasons on the trot, & laziness in the players,,, if let grow. It is our clubs Achilles Heal. It leads to an impression of Mfc snobs, at the footy etc. Range Rovers to the snow etc. All these putdowns of the Mfc by others. In short its why other supporters of the AFL, and of other codes,,, do not like/respect us. We have a toffy imagery about this club which we have to crush & be rid of. If we are to grow in a meaningful way, as a Footy club.
  12. I reckon it helps their list management SWYL, in Dew's first season. The coasters will start to improve IMO in 2019, & more in 2020, which will be imperative for Dew's career. So this season is the best for list management. to add more quality into the Dew mold of football. I wonder if Lynch will go. Or 2Mtr Peter (trade), So they can add some more tough and mature leadership for their onfield progress. Their culture has to change, and outside top line leaders brought in is the best way for a young club, to do this. ... change the culture or die a slow painful demise, further on into the future.
  13. The Hawks smalls and Roughy are the dangers for us to match I think. And I'm not sure if we have enough speedy-agile small players capable of stopping their smallmedium forwards.
  14. It seems to me we are experimenting with our structures, to find what suits us the best at this stage,,, so let just enjoy the differences/changes, and see watt comes of them. We are becoming a more mobile side with run, so far. So the entries into the forwardline are also imo experimenting,,, until we get other players back available.
  15. Well done Cards13, that sounds like a brilliant day.
  16. Lets just let the lid sit on this bin until at least the halfway mark,,, get excited on games, but NOT the season.... until we are loaded up in the top 6 teams come rounds 14 or 15. Until then it is all just blowing warm air over our bits.
  17. There is still a few that HAVE to get their heads right. We pushed one last year. Maxy was one, and he has pulled his fingers right out, and is now a leading Pro. There are others who are still flagged a little, from the time they entered into a flat Mfc,,, a few years back,,, who still have to shape up. And have to lift their own personal bar, to get to higher levels. Tyson is one. has more in him and is treading water. Bugg obviously, has been one. Kent has definately been one of these. Jesse has been one. shown today he has a lot left in him, to lift his game. TMc to a degree, until last season. the Mfc holiday camp is Over. This is the biggest Mfc HooDoo,,, that is winding up, & is about to be ejected from the ground. . . .
  18. NO no No... lets not fall for that trap again; of saying this player, or that player is a lock... no such thing anymore, at Melbourne. ... all players are on permanent notice, of their spot in the team, all year. We do not need any over-secure players, getting at all comfortable. .
  19. Only issue with that is it's not Norms curse. The curse was of those, who sacked Norm Smith... those poll-itically correct cussed's. They are the bastardo's who brought all this political correct rubbish, and dumped it on this club.
  20. Your right Bbo. it's great this Win, but we've gotta-lotta unfinished business ahead.
