Silvagni's 192cm, 92kg and 22 years old. Can play forward and back and is in Casey's best most weeks. I reckon both Valenti and Spencer will be promoted off our rookie list also. Although none of them are probably in our best 22, think they'll all be players capable of making an impact at some stage next year.

I do like that scenario, I'd rather Jamar stay but if he wants out we may aswell make a decent deal out of it. I knew we'd have to let 1 of our ruckmen go at the end of the year. guess Jamar's made the decission easier for Melbourne FC.

Not that he turned out any good but Jade Rawlings was highly regarded entering the PSD. The end result didn't justify the hype mind you.

With it now looking a shoe in that we will receive pick 1 in the PSD the question is who will we take with that pick? I know it's difficult to say as we don't yet know who will be available, but with talk around players like Boak, Lake, Hodge etc.... There could be anyone, so who do we think we will take and who will be available? Personally I think we might take Alex Silvagni in the PSD from Casey. Biggest name that will be available I reckon will be Haselby who Richmond will take at pick 3. Everyone elses thoughts?

Hopefully it's similar to the market value of Jolly when he left. I was very suprised with the draft pick we received for him, although in hindsight it hasn't worked out our way. But at the time I thought it was a good deal.

Yeah I'm pretty sure they have for the last few seasons, his stocks would have dropped a bit though. I'd be interested to see what they would offer for a former top 20 pick. If Bell does go will then be interesting to discuss whether the Woewodin deal was worth it in the end. As Bell was the draft pick we obtained in that deal.

Congrats Robbo Can see a new home for you at either St. Kilda, Geelong, Bulldogs or Carlton, I'm sure one of them will pick you up. First memory of Robbo was heading out to a Monday Night match at the G in 98' against the Swans, night Lockett kicked 3 to bring up his 100 for the year. This skinny kid pounced on a loose ball on our forward 50 line on a 45 degree angle late in the 3rd term and threw the ball onto his left towards goal (despite Lyon I think it was being 10 meters in the clear 30m out directly in front!), ball bounced about three times towards behind post before a wicked bounce sent it through the goals, and Robbo's celebration was almost something out of a soccer match. Put us about 20 points up and broke the Swans backs! Good luck for the next few years Robbo, and lets hope you can kick 5 goals in your last 2 games to pass Lyon and go 3rd on Melbourne's all time leading goal kickers list.

Just heard a rumor from a reliable source saying Yarran has walked out on Carlton. Being kept hush hush apparently. Looks like that might be a trade for them to West Coast or Fremantle. Both of whom I know aren't fans of trading with Carlton! hehe..... The blues have copped what they deserve if you ask me!

Fair enough, I can see your reasoning in that regard, as you said we just disagree on the issue. One things for certain it will be interesting to see just how active we are come trade week?

Far to early to make that call, and I haven't seen anything to suggest that McNamara will even be a regular in our team yet let alone a better player then Rivers.

The way I see it, if we're going to pick up Scully & Trengove picks 1 & 2 (2 midfielders), and we already have Grimes, Blease, Strauss, Davey, Morton, McLean & Jones (all midfielders). Then why on earth would we trade one of our KP defenders to get yet another midfielder? I know Boak is going to be good but Rivers is still our best defender IMO.

Like your line of thinking in that regard. Reckon Alex Silvagni would be worth consideration. Can play back and forward KP and still young. He's had a very good year with Casey?

No way! Never trading Rivers, he's the leader of our defence and with Rivers, Garland, Frawley, Warnock & Bennell all there we have a premiership defence in the waiting.

While I agree he is a bit one paced I would have thought his skills were as good as any of our other midfielders. Apart from Davey & Grimes of course. With McDonald possibly hanging up the boots at seasons end he could be the ideal replacement.
