  1. Banner wording must be submitted to the Club for approval early in the week. It's then constructed on Wednesday evening. No need to say any more - you get the idea.
  2. My shirt arrived today ( Mark of the Year on Blue). Thanks for organizing this, I'm really happy with the finished product...it's great! I just hope it's a warm day on Sunday - I'll be wearing & showing it off with pride & hoping I say a few "Hurrah, Jurrah"'s by the evening's end!
  3. Ka-macca-kazi Joel Macdonald! I'm glad he's wearing red and blue, glad to see him busting the lines without regard to mind or body. He'll play his 100th game early in the season...his maturity shows!
  4. Speaking as a 'squad member we faced this dilemma a few years ago....a milestone game at an interstate venue. After speaking with the player concerned he made it clear the achievement of the milestone game occurs on the day, not the week later when we're back in Melbourne. Since then we've always tried to acknowledge milestone games at the time they occur no matter where that may be. So a dedicated group of members will be heading across the border - as we would usually do - but this week we'll be very honoured to be part of the acknowledgement of an understated MFC champion's 250th game. Well done Junior. We'll be proudly wearing our colours for you and the team this weekend.
  5. Warnock & Tapscott joined in training at Gosch's paddoack this morning. Beamer & Petterd did their own thing away from the main group
  6. I bought it today....browsing in the bookshop just as they put the first stocks on the shelf. I've flicked through & am keen to read it from pg 1 to the end just like any other book, but as I read through paragraphs I felt like I was part of his conversation. He may have hidden his dark side for quite a while but he doesn't hide anything else...such an honest man.
  7. I'm feeling technologically challenged! If you text me you email address I'll forward all that I have directly to you. Mob = 0450926224

  8. I'm trying to work my way through adding images.....but you get the idea!
  9. It was at 3/4 time and it wasn't the Club song that was played. It was the theme from Superman - stirring stuff. I think it supports our theme "Masters of the MCG". It's time to be bold.

    Jim Stynes

Yet he rode his bike to training at the Junction Oval yesterday....he's one hell of a fighter. Keep on fighting, Jim.
  11. I ran out of puff before the game even started, then endured an evening of bathing in my own sweat. The conditions were horrid for spectators, without daring to think about how the players felt. Don't ever underestimate our players G&D. In Q4 I saw Jack Watts lose his feet. He was alone in our forward 50 and started staggering. Millsy came along to prop him up, the trainers ran in, then the ball was moved into our forward area and Wattsy shrugged them off and ran to the contest. I'll be thrilled to wear multiple layers while I watch footy at a chilly Skilled Stadium this week. I can only hope the boys recover well and turn up ready for a contest. As much as I enjoyed going to Darwin it was really hard work for everyone just surviving the conditions.
  12. Stef and Sam were both at the Junction Oval this morning but neither trained with the Casey or Dees groups
  13. 1.Bate 2.Trengove 3.Frawley 4.Warnock 5.McKenzie 6.McDonald
  14. I thought after awarding Adelaide a "goal" just before quarter time when the ball was touched off the boot by Warnock - clearly to all of us sitting behind those goals- that the umps might have been trying to square up the error but they'd say they make no error & call it as they see it
  15. This is one of the reasons you can't throw your wonderful, full-length scarf in the bin after one game, one of the reasons you don't start nonsense talk about not attending games while the current coach is the head coach or talk of trading certain players. The players are all human and need support through hard times. If we lose Chip that would be a massive loss for our future strength in coming years, if we lose Ricky that's a double blow. They are both very talented players, neither of whom have yet to play 50 games. Patience is required...and positive encouragement.
  16. The injury happened in the last few minutes of the game. He struggled to get off the ground after it happened and limped across from the bench to the rooms after the game, with ice strapped to his right knee. I was really worried at the time. Here's hoping there's not much to it.
  17. There's no mention of Sam Blease here...he was another player to complete Yr12 this year
  18. Gawn proudly told me he was 37, adding himself that it was Jim Stynes' first number. Matthew Warnock is taking No.1
  19. It was hard to keep an eye on everything that was happening...from taking in all the development that's taken place around the ground, to all the youngsters that turned up in red & blue, to the new recruit that really caught my eye.... Luke Tapscott. He can run and he looks like he's ready to play now.
  20. Rosso, I'll work on it and when you see it held up next season please take full credit for the idea. As for the "Air Jurrah"...that's a bit more involved...I'll see if I can get it happening too. Any other ideas are always welcome.
  21. I've just received my order of Demon Xmas cards & I have to say I'm really happy with them. They're good quality and I'm sure the recipients of my cards will post a smile on their dial when they open them up! Good work marketing department for something just a little bit different.
  22. If Brock was worth Pick 11, a done deal in trade week, how big does pick 30 (ie avoided by teams with 29 picks BEFORE pick 30) really rate? Sounds like Ball's a deal that we'll be very glad we passed on
  23. Yes, I've done mine too and thought "What an odd collection of questions" The membership packages for 2010 are out, so all those questions are for future planning. I was annoyed I could only mark ONE favourite player....& they only chose about 5 players in the question on who was essential for future success. It's a team sport & I have more than one favourite!
  24. Well done Martin Flanagan...still embedded in the MFC! Great work done by Jim & Don & a sensational front page photo of Liam standing in the red dirt under blue skies. I'm with Big Kev on Sean Charles. It's a haunting remark that really stands out above all else in the article.
