This is my oldest sons year and he plays SMJFL; played against Ashcroft and Trainor in final in 2023. Guns.
Keep an eye on Murphy Reid at Dragons; love to get him.

Did Neal-Bullen really kick an expert checkside goal and a dribbler or did i have a stroke?
He did; just before BBB gathered and baulked someone, broke a tackle and ran into an open goal.
was expecting pigs to fly past on my way home.

I thought we looked pretty average. There was certainly a more aggressive mindset and our defence suffered. Don’t think I can remember having so many opponents getting free out the back like today.
The media are probably right about us, we are intriguing this year. Not sure what we will offer.
I spoke with a media footy person this week who said we were the mystery of 2024. They wouldn’t be surprised if we won the flag OR finished 10th and sacked Goody half way……

I heard from a coach of a 18u Coates League team that Reid was miles ahead of everyone else this time last year, but felt he not developed as much due to not playing AFL this year. Others catching him.
he thinks he’s an absolute gun in the Oliver, Selwood, Bont, Trac level of gun.
love to get him.

I thought Grundy was valued at our club??? Those words will haunt Goodwin & could go down as the biggest flop of a trade & only Melbourne could manufacture this! Can’t help injuries but if Gawn is on one leg who will be out back up ruck???
It was clear from Brisbane game we excepted the dual ruck failed; since then it’s been all single Max. Gawn was BOG last week, perhaps on one leg, let’s back him to go again, he’s a genuine great who regularly performs when needed. I’m happy to back Max in.
if he gets injured that’s as [censored] as Trac or May getting injured. We can’t cover any of them regardless who the sub is.

That is utterly disgraceful; I’m [censored] and mad and as a mad Demons fan really don’t care. This one likely to be “the straw that broke the camels back”.

Don’t care where in top 4 we finish.
win 5 straight and we’re all celebrating like crazy again.

Happy to play Port in Port, no team with more must win pressure. We got this.
then preliminary vs Blues at G!

Went along tonight and cheered hard for the Swans; good for the Dees in 2023 seeing a challenging Dogs lose AND the extra bonus was seeing Sydney cruise pay the Dockers on the ladder. Back to the G tomorrow night, go Dees.

Am I correct that there is an option to buy tickets to this game in the designated ‘opposition member bays’?
A very helpful Demonlander sent me a link to purchase these tickets for our game at GMHBA last year - was hoping that if this is still the case someone may have access to that link as I can’t for the life of me find anything about it online!
Yes. I bought 4 tickets today in the tiny away members section. On Ticketmaster via AFL site; password is “awaymember23”. Club gave it to me when I called. Might be all gone now.

Last night I watched Cats lose in Shenzhen China on Star Sports. Good coverage apart from Ch7 commentary.
missing todays game as on a plane. Fingers crossed.

I spoke with someone over the weekend who is well educated in AFL projects such as our challenges. They believed the new facility at AAMI cap park was looking good until fully quoted and Government then baulked due to cost. It was well above plan.
same person a huge fan on Caulfield Racecourse for us.

My son played with him this year. Definitely more forward than mid. Better players in the 10As this year, hoping he progresses over the next two seasons.

Felt like an 8 goal win. I note in todays HSun the “expected score” measure from where shots are taken has us winning 102-49. More like a reflection of what happened.
It is so foreign to watch us, the Demons, play each week and have very very little nerves that we’ll win anyway. Never thought this would occur in my lifetime. Trying to get my kids (7 to 15) appreciate this - but certain they won’t, don’t or can’t.

I think this is perfect!
gets us up and about. If we lose it’s a wake up call Round 1; if we win we roll the momentum on.
mindset is our biggest risk in 2022, maybe alongside injuries. This helps remove complacency from day 1.
go demons!

Totally agree, went to the game today
Declase has serious pace, good footy iq, good kick, good mark
Bowey played well, still young but seriously talented
Lockhart, great player, the speed he can utilise from taking possession to kicking well over 40metres was impressive
Bedford, seriously good player with great pace, side step
I was seriously impressed by our players today
I had some similar views having been at today’s game. I actually thought 6-8 could come into the seniors and play a role similar to how Petty has filled the third tall back.
Déclase could do a job on the wing if we lost Langers for a bit. Very impressive today.
Bowey a lot to like, many have said, great skills, goes when it’s his turn. He’d have played 10 games for the Kangas or Hawks this year.
liked Joe Smiths game, marshalled the backline, lots of talk, attacked the contest, couple of hangers, good skills overall.
actually thought big Bradkte did well on Buzza as the FB
I thought Melky was very good; his skills are elite, hit great dangerous targets; young Ellerson appreciated him a few times.
bedford showed some real signs on ball. Just needs a few more touches as his pace and dash really break a game open.
Sparrow and AVB solid in the contest; Jetta played his role, wonderful leader on the ground.
a lot to like!

Had better hope we do well next year and Taylor nails these picks which will end up being well into the 20s. Next years draft is mainly uncompromised and supposedly much stronger. Telling that no other club has traded a future first.
It appears our strategy with the draft is ALWAYS trade our "next years" 1st rounder - effectively getting the player asset one year early. i.e. Kozzie. Then next years we'll get a 1st rounder by trading out 2022's etc. So far the Clubs have delivered on this. I like it. At least they have a clear strategy.

Pretty happy with this fixture. We get to test ourselves against the best (Lions and Power) while in good form with a healthy deep list.
We get the SA clubs how we’d prefer, Crows in Adelaide, Port in Qld.
We get to play in Tassie again. We know this ground well, play this game every year, and North are struggling. We both come off 4 day breaks; seems fair.
We get the Pies amid their, and our, travel bonanza! And without De Goey!
Then I read that Melbourne Storm has just played 7 games in 7 different venues across 4 states while fully relocating to Qld - no complaints and once again they ease back into the top 4 in dominant form. Guess where the Storm are staying in Qld? Maybe Goody can buy Bellamy a few lattes.....And we have Burgess - have no doubt the players will get confidence from that, call it our X Factor.

No change.
cats very experienced led by Stewart down back; keep Petty in. Give him Roo and Turner another game together.
McAdam vs Blues when he’s played a full game at VFL.
Hore, McA, Fullerton emergencies
Hunter to come but not yet. I’d like to see him and Melky plus Bowey plays games in second half season. Finals time I’d prefer them to Woey, Laurie etc
