New teams will have an old team allocated to them... decided at random after we finalise numbers. I'm going to give JCB and Eth until mid-day Sunday 17th Feb. Then I'll put it out to new people. As for trading: for simplicity here is the rules pre-draft: Each trade must have equal numbers of keepers, and equal numbers of rookie keepers. So you can trade a keeper with another keeper with picks added on. Or a rookie with a rookie with picks. But you can't trade a keeper for a rookie, or 2 keepers for a keeper, or just picks for a keeper. Trades can be submitted to me for approval on this forum, and I can advise people of what can and can't be done.

I would make hitouts worth 3, thereby making it 21. ...or handballs 2, making it 19.

I like it, even though it hurst me given my keepers. ... of course as the administrator you would have control over this sort of thing. One other thing is that in this setup it would be possible to win with 3 categories, and it wouldn't even have to include score. 9 points gets a win, and you could win it with kicks, marks, tackles.

I think to be fair to be fair to any new teams they should take over an old list, so I will randomly assign them a team once we confirm the ins/outs, and they can pick from that team. It's still true that there will be some ripping players available because we're going from 18-16 teams. I'll see how it washes out when we settle the teams.

I've started it. There really isn't much to do after the draft, so I guess I can continue on. But I, like others, can't guarantee I'll be around much this year, I will still play the game, but after the draft I probably won't spend much time dealing with the questions and arguments so much. The system simply allows you to nominate keepers from last year, in reality I still have to set your lineups pre-draft. So I don't want them in too late. Give me a week before the draft for me to sort it out. Also I suggest you nominate your keepers now anyway so that in case you miss the cut-off you will at least have players you picked. Also this allows me to set an indicative lineup so that we can start to see what the draft will look like. (I think this will work,but the options to set your keepers opens on the 7th Feb so i'm not 100% on it just yet. If someone forgets to nominate they will be autopick keepers, the highest ranked players from your team. (same with rookies). Summary: Set your keepers now, but you can change them up until the week before the draft.

Once you have logged on, you nominate your keepers. This is done on the site, under the 'pre-season draft' tab. Remember: 2 keepers & 2 rookie keepers (born in 1991 or later) Once you have nominated I will confirm it by entering it into the draft system. No need to rush I won't confirm until just before the draft. For those of you interested, there is a possibility of trading players (keepers only) and future draft picks if you want. But it will have to be submitted to our new admin guy.

okay, i'm still not committing to admin, but i set up the league. now if you sign up for your fairfax account, then link your account with your old one i think you can join in. this way you can select your keepers from last year within the system. if someone can confirm this it would be helpful

I'm in. However I think it's time I step down as chairman, so if there is anyone who would like to step up make yourself known. I know DL7 offered to help me last year. Whoever takes it on, can of course run it as they think is best, so the following are suggestions they may or may not want to take on. 1: reduce the number of players in each list. ( I prefer: 3B 4C 3F 1R 4emerg, 3 bench) 2: as suggested reduce to 16 if there are any dropouts, combined with 1 this makes the quality of players much better and generally makes for a better game. 3: Allow pre-draft trading, this one is a bit more of a wild one, and a bit of work administering it, but being able to trade picks and keepers allows people to trade their team into a position they might prefer. So if you're centre heavy you can trade yourself into a more balanced position. The site administrator is able to set keepers, and also the draft order of every round so you can trade picks and use the same online draft system. Happy to help out the new chairman wherever needed, I hope I served in the best interest of everyone and that we all had fun while I was at the helm. And good luck to the new guy, you're going to need it. P.S. Get round 'the league', its a TV show about fantasy footy (NFL), not for everyone, but it appeals to both my fantasy footy and gutter humour sides.
