  1. If Scully had a "don't argue" in his bag of tricks he'd be getting the same rave reviews as Martin anyway. Having watched a bit of Richmond this year I'm a huge fan of Martin, but I have absolutely no doubt who I'd pick at #1 even with 20/20 hindsight.
  2. Don't know what PIA means, but 'Pia' is the name of Brad Miller's wife.
  3. Now you're catching what I'm pitching. I'm also going to guess that he is under the age of 16.
  4. Sadly I think he's not
  5. Dunn's 'breakout' game was when he kicked 8 for Casey. Not at AFL level obviously, but he has not looked back since. He's unrecognisable as the player he was as recently as the first half of this season.
  6. Are you giving Jeff Kennett credit for our club's turnaround? Really? Sure you don't want to reconsider? Sure? I just threw up in my mouth a bit.
  7. Sure, if "ruck-rover-midfield-forward" can be considered one position... I'd give Brad Green as an example of a player who has benefitted hugely from being pushed about all over the place over the years. How many years after his first few as a promising forward and he pushed in to the middle were supporters screaming "move him forward, he's a forward!". What's Green now? A forward - a very good forward, who is capable of short, damaging bursts in the midfield. He's been moved in to the middle a few times this year in order to get him in to the game when the forwards (or just himself) are starved, and he's had an impact. I don't see why Dunn should not be capable of the same thing, especially considering he's had a first hand education on how hard to work and where to run.
  8. No doubting they've got their own intelligence, but why make it easy for them?
  9. I totally agree with this. Also, the the AFL are inconsistent with their tribunal rulings as well, so next time one of our blokes gets rubbed out - stuff it, we'll play them anyway. And the umpires! Sheesh, they're inconsistent too. Free kick against us? Nah, they're too inconsistent. Play on.
  10. If I were Cale Morton and the OP was a guy I knew, I'd be very embarrassed about being portrayed like a petulent child on these forums. Cale's a smart bloke. I'm just going to run with the assumption that the OP is just flexing a tenuous link to a player to its absolute limit and assume that it's all bollocks, and that Cale knows and understands why he's not in the team.
  11. Maybe we can elevate a rookie with it
  12. Because the GC scouts will have watched Miller play more than once. You make it sound as if this was the only time they'd ever have been exposed to Miller. They probably know his performances better than we do. And why would they bother offering draft picks when it's clear he's going to be delisted anyway? That would be insane. If they have any sense they'd just wait until we delisted him, then they could pick him up with their last pick in the draft. They're not obliged to trade for him.
  13. No, not interersted in bringing Miller in. Our forward line is functional for the first time in ages, so I don't agree with the idea of dicking around with it now. Especially for a player who is just as likely not to touch it for the whole game as he is to kick a bag.
  14. Okay, I'll humour you. In what way have Morton and other young players been "treated"?
  15. Not sure why it's such a big deal. Do you dispute that someone should make way for Moloney? Where is the harm in trying to apply grey matter (admittedly there's probably not a great deal of grey matter being utilised in this particular thread) to figure out the best way to improve the team? Anyway, my thoughts on the matter at hand are that Moloney is surely on the cusp of being out for too long to come straight back in now. If that's the case then no change.
  16. Bruce was involved in that one play of pure poetry in the third quarter with his absolutely cracking kick between the 50 arcs to Sylvia, which resulted in the goal in the square to Wonaeamirri. Can't remember anything else he may or may not have done, but that particular bit was worthy of huge props I reckon. That one play, which started with Joel Macdonald in defence, was the highlight of the game for me.
  17. Jamar would not be in the top 50 players in the competition for mine. Most teams will have at least three midfielders who are better overall players than Jamar, heck we've probably got three in just our side alone. 3 x 16 = 48... he might slot in at 49 or 50 but I don't think so. He's definitely in the top handful of ruckmen, but that doesn't equate to top overall. I don't actually think that many ruckmen would feature in the top 50 at all.
  18. 6. The strange moustached fellow in #14. Not sure who he is or what he's done with Lynden Dunn, but I definitely like this guy better. 5. Frawley 4. Green 3. Jurrah - Bails and co showed why they get paid the large coin and I pay for the privilege of my offerings: I had him as an 'out' this week . This could have easily been a huge bag had his kicking not been wayward. 2. Davey 1. Scully
  19. Didn't read this thread at the time - but how about WYL editing his post a day later in an attempt to cover up his blatant self-contradiction? Classic. If every side was represented evenly they'd have less than 4 players in the top 50, and one would think that the better sides will be better represented than the poorer sides. Based on all that, I'd say us naming four of our own would be totally unreasonable. We'd be entitled to two at the most. I'd say Sylvia and Green would be our best shots at the top 50.
  20. Well you must have been referring to something. If it's something in this thread I've clearly missed it.
  21. Point is that there's no Jones bashing going on here, figuratively or otherwise. If you think saying he's B-C grade is bashing then I think you're being a touch precious. It's an honest assessment. Not everyone can be A grade, and clearly Jones isn't. That's not "bashing".
  22. Different things affect people in different ways. Unless you know the circumstances and have spent time in Stefan's head I'd suggest you're not qualified comment, "for mine".
  23. Really enjoying this series billy - you're saving me the trouble of working it all out each week. Keep it up.
  24. I assume he's referring to the messy breakup with his girlfriend that was fairly well documented.
  25. Indeed it is. He's not named in the reserves side thoguh, so presumably that means he'll play in the seniors. Good luck to him. I remember reading an article earlier in the year about how frustrating he found it playing in a team where he didn't know anyone. Hopefully he's finally able to run out the year in the seniors and get some momentum and form up.
