  1. Agreed. The first thing I thought of when I read the OP was that the footy has such a yobbo culture. It's not socially acceptable to run around swearing and abusing people at the top of your lungs in the street, so why is it okay at the footy? Get fired up by all means (I do whether I'm live or watching on TV) but keep yourself under control FFS.
  2. May I suggest reading the post directly above yours?
  3. Sylvia likely, Jamar to miss again In this article, Bailey suggests that Tapscott is the only one a possibility to return, so by inference: no Bartram this week. Based on that, no change for mine.
  4. Jetta would be absolutely robbed if he got dropped. What a confidence killer.
  5. Petterd lost his spot to Howe who played very well. Unlike the colleagues who joined him at Casey this week I still hold out plenty of hope for Petterd as he has attributes that I like, but right now he's playing where he belongs. For the rest of the changes; if Bartram is fit then it'll probably be him for Strauss. It's disappointing because I thought Strauss' game was encouraging and warrants perseverance, but someone's got to go and he's the nearest match for type. Other options include Evans and Nicholson, but those options sit even less comfortably with me. I'm assuming Sylvia will be fine.
  6. Gold. P.S. I'm bitterly hurt about being omitted from your list.
  7. I'd have assumed it was wrong just because of the source. As far as ScullyToGWSgate, Sheahan has been corrupted; his sources are men who benefit strongly from the rumour and innuendo.
  8. I don't think so either, but there's definitely room on the list for him right now (stating the obvious perhaps). He's the sort of player who I'm happy to keep playing but recognise that he'll be passed by someone better eventually.
  9. It's not just our future midfield, it's our present midfield. These guys aren't going anywhere, they're easily part of our best current midfield. And looking at the side that played last night, the only one who may be inhibited by age when this list is in its prime is Green. This was the second time all four (McKenzie, Gysberts, Scully and Trengove) have all played together in one match, the first being against Collingwood last year when Gysberts got injured and didn't surface again for the rest of the year. Each of them all bring something different to the table, so when added together you get a group with a heap of variety and class that should be capable of anything.
  10. Indeed. Even his appearance is a contradiction in terms, a baby's face on a giant's body.
  11. He was guilty of butchery again last night too, but obviously he's young enough and inexperienced enough to be cut plenty of slack. I really like what he brings to the table though - fast, finds the ball (good trick to have) and works hard. If he can sort out his delivery by foot then he'll be a real find.
  12. Indeed, I also thought his intensity seemed to improve within the match as well - his second half was much better than his first. The most exciting thing about Liam is that even though there's still a few things in his game that aren't up to scratch yet, he can still kick three goals a match. I still stake my head with disbelief at the stroke of luck of Liam falling on our plate and I love hearing the stories about his journey here, so I'm also looking forward to Rudeboy's book.
  13. It's a mega-cliche, but it's true - you can't teach size. I'm very excited about what he may become when he shakes off the young giant uncos; so those embarrassing misses become regulation goals. He's already shown he can tap, is mobile (the biggest plus given his size) and can take a mark. It was a very promising debut.
  14. You haven't really got a point. Stef's game last night was an extension of what he's been doing ever since Jamar went out, you only just noticed it for the first time just now.
  15. Choko, whatever it was that you smoked, please smoke it again next week. Thanks.
  16. The fact that it was those smug pricks just makes it that much sweeter. That club is just smarmy from the coach to the admin to their fans. Take that, Britneys.
  17. 6 Rivers 5 McKenzie 4 Trengove 3 Green 2 Martin 1 Gysberts Feel like I've dudded a lot of players.
  18. I was saying why I found it annoying
  19. The part where it said West Coast when we're playing Essendon.
  20. This is what disappoints me about Warnock. At the beginning of the year I'd have assessed him as a good negating defender with no ability to attack, meaning he should in theory have been adequate cover for the loss of a quality tall. He's been called on for exactly that and been very disappointing compared to his defending ability of previous years. I don't care so much about him being a poor user of the ball (we knew what we were getting when we brought him in), it's his [in]ability as a pure defender that rules him out for me.
  21. Yeah, round 8, aka when he took over the ruck duties full time. Were you expecting stats like that when he was rucking for 5 minutes a quarter as Jamar's understudy?
  22. Indeed, the experience Martin has gained and the progress he's made since being required for 90% ruck duties has been so profound that I almost regret that we will probably bring Gawn in. I don't want to upset the ride on the learning curve; Martin is far and away the best thing to come out of this season to date. Factor in the unexpectedly fast progress Gawn is making and we may find ourselves in the incredible situation of having an embarrassment of riches in the ruck department. Who'd have picked that at the start of the year?
  23. For me the thought of Malthouse has a feeling of Malcolm Blight to St Kilda about it. Don't know why, there's no real rationality behind it other than a gut feel. I don't get the same feeling when considering Roos.
  24. Why?
