  1. C'Mon, it's a bit disingenuous to pick out the game that easily his worst game in two years and claim it proves your point.
  2. Harden up man, I have had three and still counting since I started working with Demonland! PS Congrats on the new one on the way.
  3. He was a favourite of a weird 5 year old who lived interstate that somehow came to be a lone Melbourne supporter in a sea of Carlton, Collingwood and Richmond supporters too. He and Jimmy were probably my favourite two. His sudden passing for me is a reminder about the reality of cancer really. As someone who's never lost anyone close due to cancer, Jimmy's amazing fight had probably made me forget a bit how brutal it can be and how mortal we really are. RIP Sean.
  4. Seems like an age ago when the forums were all about "Scully and Butcher" doesn't it? As I understand it the guy's hardly been on the park since he was drafted due to chronic injuries. Jeez that could've gone badly for us.
  5. Exactly. As if Demetriou (or any CEO) would ever get to set his own salary. LOL
  6. Tom Scully is not a liar. Tom Scully is not a liar. Tom Scully is not a liar. Say it enough times until you believe it.
  7. And if the depth isn't required (like it mostly hasn't been this year even when Garland went down)? A third consecutive year playing mostly for Casey. You've touched on the fact that Matty wouldn't want that, but I don't think the club would want it either. You've then got a bloke filling up a valuable spot on the list, who isn't being played, who has little improvement left in him, who will never again be part of our regular side. If you're on the north side of 25 and you're a regular for Casey then your career has gone badly in the wrong direction. You're not depth, you're just a guy who is no longer good enough. Warnock fits this description, as do Bate and Dunn.
  8. I'd have suggested Matt Burgan as he's the official club writer. He'd have ready access to the players and whatnot as well. I haven't noticed a chemistry between them per se, but I hope it's there. It's really exciting seeing two players who clearly understand each other. I think as our forward line settles and each player grows in confidence this relationship will continue to blossom. Definitely has a bit of an odd couple feel to it too, you'd think guys from such completely different backgrounds would never meet and never have the opportunity to bond if it wasn't for footy. Great stuff. Reminds me of the article I read about how strong a working bond Nathan Carroll and Ben Holland had while at the club - the privileged private school kid from SA and the kid from WA who did it tough and dropped out of school as a teenager. I guess that all probably ended when Chopper punched Dutchy in the head in a drunken rage.
  9. Watts is developing in to be the player we thought he would when we drafted him. Nothing else matters IMO.

    2008 Draft

    Pardon?
  11. Wow, impressive tackle. Thanks for the video, I spent a few minutes trying to find it and gave up.
  12. Third cousin apparently. By my calculation that means they shared a great-great-grandfather, so hardly close relatives. Apparently David Foster is my third cousin as well. Guess we are all cousins.
  13. Okay. Just for future reference: McDonald = Tom Macdonald = Joel.
  14. Why must he? He gets pushed down one place in the pecking order by Tapscott returning from injury. Don't see why that is unreasonable.
  15. +1. If Macdonald gets up I'm happy for Tapscott to return via Casey. Don't see the need in upsetting the side when it is playing good footy. No glaring need for change.
  16. Alright, you win. I've been out-nitpicked.
  17. Rookie doesn't necessarily mean "rookie-listed". I found "Joel McDonald" more annoying, personally. There's a missing 'a', and the 'D' should be little.
  18. Couldn't agree more. Well said.
  19. You'd have to be a halfwit, seriously.
  20. This was a freak event that won't happen again, but I'm pleased all the same. If he can keep up a high level of defensive work in the forward 50, there'll be no need for him to be dropped again. There's never been any doubt in my mind that he's got all the tools to be an excellent defensive forward, this year it's just been a matter of waiting for it all to come together. I wouldn't expect double figure f50 tackles every week, but I don't think 4 or 5 is too much to ask for. Keep it up Ricky.
  21. Nothing?
  22. Tom? Presuming you mean Macdonald. He'd be very stiff if he got the chop.
  23. Agreed. My heart sank when I saw that they were both apparently contracted. Makes Harrington and friends' job that much harder.
  24. Got a big old roll of the eyes from me as well. As usual with this kind of carp, people have no facts at all to base things on so they make stuff up.
