  1. I completely misread what you said. I need sleep. Sorry.
  2. Brad already has a jumper number.
  3. I'd just give it to some kid on our list who wants it. It's a jumper number, it is not some magical artifact imbued with the curse of a heroic mercenary from half a century ago. Paul Wheatley managed just fine as a "good average" player eeking out a footy career in #31.
  4. I'd have liked him to keep quiet.
  5. Yes - slip of the tongue. Signing all of the uncontracted players would be monumentally stupid. I also take it to mean a number of players have been given their DCM's.
  6. West Coast lost Judd right after he carried them to a flag. They were extremely strong on and off the field at the time. (Yes I realise he was technically not a number #1 but surely that's not the point) How about Des Headland saying "thanks for the memories" to Brisbane right in the middle of their dynasty? Nah, strong clubs never lose their #1 draft picks.
  7. Completely agree (still). Range Rover's "everyone's in on it" certainly doesn't qualify, it assumes Tom Scully is the only stakeholder they need to look after. Sweeping it under the carpet in this manner would be dreadful PR from the club and a shameful way to treat its members and its 40 or so other players. Unless the club is run by complete incompetents, if they found out then he should've been shown the door immediately. If Scully leaves I'll be mad at him, but if RR's theory turns out to be the truth I'd be so much more angry at the club that it'd be incomparable. The more likely scenario as posted by old55 a number of times is that Scully deliberately delayed the decision so that if he did decide to take the coin, he wouldn't have to spend the year lying to his teammates (as he genuinely hadn't decided anything and possibly hadn't looked at the offers) and being spat on in the Casey Reserves.
  8. That analogy occurred to me also.
  9. I thought the game was a cracker myself and would relish the MFC playing that tough a brand of footy. Boring my arse.
  10. Gambling is all about taking stupid people's money. That's why. You can bet there will be the odd moron taking a punt on those names.
  11. Agreed. I'm for Scully to lose, not for him to win.
  12. The fact that nobody thinks he's worth what he's been offered is just another side effect of this whole thing. Unless anyone's seen the offer first hand, the only numbers we know are the fictional ones coming out of the papers. We don't have a clue what he's been offered, so let's stop pretending we do.
  13. I must admit I did give myself a pat on the back for trotting that one out when there was a thread on Ryan O'Keefe though
  14. Many on Demonland would have you believe that Cameron should've "screened" Thompson and asked him all the "hard questions" to really find out whether he'd stick around in the long term.
  15. This. Go hammer and tong for Malthouse and/or Lyon, fine. Plan C must be the best up and comer, and it needs to have some groundwork laid now in case plans A and B fall through.
  16. That's the first time anyone's mentioned that in months. Bleeds R&B is one that annoys me. We haven't had too many Ryan O'Keefe types around here lately though.

    Moloney

Sounds ridiculously out of character for Moloney.
  18. You're barking up the wrong tree. WM is Scully's sponsor.
  19. It looks as if the MFC have made the full suite of eligible players available this time around. I'm particularly interested in how the boys who've had a bit of a taste of AFL level footy go in the rest of the VFL finals, in particular Gawn, Fitzpatrick, McDonald and Nicholson. I reckon Bail is the only one in that side that doesn't belong there. It's a stroke of luck for Casey that he's eligible. Good luck Casey.
  20. He'll be re-signed in due course IMO. Needs a new coach more than any player on our list.
  21. Read the book first, have an opinion on it second. From what you've said it's painfully obvious you haven't read it.
  22. Couldn't have put it better (that's why I didn't ).
  23. If 186 happened because select players wanted to make a stand, then each accomplice should've been swept out the door with Bailey. And I'd be completely indiscriminate about it.
  24. I'm prepared to believe that poster on Demonland when that poster on Demonland happens to be the player in question's sponsor.
