Well I just don't know what I'm supposed to do now. I'm back in the position I was in at the beginning of the year where I'm surviving on the last of my reserves and watching purely because I feel I should. Last week I was totally and utterly shattered, to the point where I couldn't even bring myself to log on to Demonland for four days, read any footy news, watch any other footy or talk footy with other people. This week, I braced myself for a royal slaughtering, which has made it more bearable, but it's just batshit boring. I despise that feeling of knowing that even when we have the ball, you just know they're going to stuff it up somehow, and that when the opposition have it, you just know they're going to score. I'm not angry, or hurt or anything like that this week (I was last week, make no mistake). Just bored and wondering why I waste three hours of my time every weekend with entertainment that offers at best nothing, and at worst anger and frustration. It's not the first time I've asked the question of why I should bother watching next week, but I'm back there again. Only got to survive through one more, thank heavens.

I agree, but I think when assessing the goal output of an individual player, it needs to be taken in to account how well the team scores in general. We've clearly struggled to score all year, so I'm not sure why anyone would expect an individual to have kicked heaps under those circumstances as the person I replied to seemed to be implying.

More goals than any other player on our list.

I could...

Can't imagine any possibility of being embarrassed to run out on the field with Melbourne.

Yes.

Ahh, Fitz. Look, I don't reckon the guy is good enough in the big picture, but tonight he's giving me some entertainment through some competitiveness and actually threatening to score. Great work Fitzy, keep it up.

Probably the worst thing is I feel obliged to watch this dross when Geelong and Hawthorn are on the other channel.

I emotionally prepared myself for complete slaughter this week and am glad I did. I'm watching feeling little more than minor annoyance. That lack of preparation last week nearly killed me.
-
Looking forward to him nominating Hawthorn or Geelong as his preferred club.

Thank god we've got you here to point that out. Doubt it would have occurred to us otherwise.

Roos said early in the year that they're not even really looking at tactics, they're just focusing on getting the side to do the very basics in footy. I doubt after last week's amazingly awesome exhibition of doing basic footy stuff that this week would be the week where this philosophy changes.

Oh fuck this. Turning this shit off and spending time with my family instead.

I've got this amazing ability to forget what just happened and assume things will improve this quarter. It means I get to be surprised at how crap we are all over again each quarter.

Welcome to the Melbourne Demons - Christian Petracca.

If you're seeing through the red mist, put the computer/ipad/phone down. Trust me, it'll stop you from making a stupid post or dumb thread. Too late in this case I realise. -
I agree with you, but I hated Kent's three consecutive turnovers in a row more. He's having a shocker, but at least he's getting the ball unlike Dawes and Frawley.
-
We have had more scoring shots than them, so it can't have been that lopsided. Dominated is definitely an exaggeration (on reflection, maybe not). Bloody frustrating watching this side though. I'd love it if I could go a whole game without seeing the red mist.

Just some peanut trying to be funny and failing. Not worth getting our knickers in a twist over. Some of you are so sensitive that it worries me.

Footscray v Casey Scorpions (Jesse Hogan returns)
Nasher replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Other way around JJC. The firsts are playing first for some reason. -
What is going to happen with Stef once Leuenberger and West return?

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Nasher replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
And next year? The year after? The year after that? Next time one of my kids plays up, remind me to ask you how many times I should punish them for the same crime. After all, they will be just as guilty now as they were before... -
Uh, right. Thanks for that, tone.

History has as many "good young lists" that have gone on to do SFA as it does ones that went on to be powerhouses. I agree that they look very promising for the future on paper, but I won't worry about it too much until they're actually flying. Let's not overlook that recent form notwithstanding, they along with us, GWS and Saints have spent a large portion of the year being utterly putrid.
