Removed snatch from the filter. Let me know if you find other silly ones, by the way. I've been meaning to comb the list but haven't had time.

Indeed. The only people who told us Clark wanted to go to Collingwood, were Collingwood. Clark and the MFC have said sweet sod all. I'm of the view we know as much as we did from the very start: nothing.

What was he meant to do? Become our premier midfielder? Join the recruiting team? Become a development coach? We're not Geelong, with all that dormant talent simmering away, just waiting for a Paul Chapman to ignite it with a heartfelt speech. We've got awful players on our list playing in the middle none of which is Frawley's fault; Frawley has consistently been one of our better players, he's done his bit I think. Nathan Jones has been on our list the whole time we've been crud too - by your logic, he must be waiting around for someone else to get us going too. Get off our list Jones, you hack.

Tom Jones showing Meatloaf how to be old and still have it.

We've also managed to violate the space time contiuum by you quoting my post before I made it. Impressive.

Redundant question.

Beams AND Hanley will be on Brisbane's list next year. They are under no obligation to pay any sort of hefty price for Beams, if Collingwood become uncooperative, they can throw their hands in the air and walk away, leaving Collingwood with the problem. If Brisbane part with anything of greater value than their second round pick I'll be surprised.
-
Oops! Don't know how that happened, fixed.

You've broken the record for the world's thinnest skin if you think that was a howl down. It was a regulation disagreement; if you're struggling with it, forums aren't for you. It's also ironic that it was hogan's heroes that you replied to - no man has been howled down more than him in recent times.

Bizzell was a very good player for us and a cornerstone of our strong(er) sides of the mid 00s. Clearly Geelong were better off in the long term, but it was never intended to be a long term decision. I'm pretty comfortable with it.

I've seen little to indicate that this guy is any good.

There is no way known Brisbane will let Hanley go. While it sounds like Ed has dealt well with Beams on a personal level, Collingwood need to get their head out of their collective arse when it comes to the business transaction. They are not the ones holding the aces.

We got a pick in the 50s for Grgic (Brad Miller if I recall). The deal for Bizzell was complicated and separate.

Again with the nonsense claim that Dangerfield is susceptible to injury, when it would take 15 seconds of research to learn that he's missed 6 games in 6 years. Demonland is sometimes living proof that people are just wilfully ignorant.
-
All this sledging and abuse toward Clark is all on the assumption that the MFC actually want to keep him. Given all that is coming out of our club is the sound of crickets, it's a very big assumption.

I agree Clint. I've said it in the thread already, supporters massively overrate the value of draft picks. Roos has even said a similar thing himself I believe. It's why I thought at the time that surrendering pick 20 and 2 for Tyson and 9 was a bloody fantastic deal at the time. I saw downgrading 2 to 9 as a very minor change - just as likely to get a good player in the 6-10 range as you are 1-5, so it amounted to Pick 20 for Tyson and loose change. It's the sort of thing I'm hoping for in this trade, if it happens.

This exactly the reason why it staggers me that people won't give up our early pick(s) for Dangerfield. Even at pick 3 it's absolutely no certainty to get a great player. Most of those guys are good players, but not one of them is amongst the cream of the competition (as Dangerfield is). Hill and Martin come close. Imagine if we had picks 2 and 3 and picked up the equivalent of Lachie Hansen and Chris Masten? (The quote above comes from the Peter Jackson thread on the main board but my reply clearly relates to Dangerfield)

If that's true - and I doubt it is - it shows how ridiculous Essendon are at the trade table. I've heard plenty of information that indicates this is the case.

Welcome back cobber. All the facts, rumours, conjecture and plain old BS is here in the thread. Up to you to decide what's real or not - that's the fun bit!

Nudge confessed to being Chilliboy after denying it for ages. They are definitely the same person.

Again, all we're being told is what *Collingwood* thinks about the matter. Melbourne Football Club and Mitch Clark remain dead silent on the matter. I agree that it looks like he's gone, but I reckon a few posters above me could afford to hold fire a bit; they are abusing Clark purely because of stuff that Collingwood said.

I've evolved over the years in regards to forum rumours. Early days: gullible, believe any rumour I heard, get excited, feel bitterly disappointed when they didn't go through Middle days: refuse to believe anything, get annoyed every time someone posts hearsay Recent days: Believe the rumours I like the sound of but understand they could be crap, keep emotions completely divorced until things start to pan out. Enjoy the ride, never feel disappointed, but feel ecstatic when things actually come to fruition.

And truthfully, I hope we don't sell the farm as well, but I think the crucial point for me it's the team that holds the draft picks that takes the risk. I really hope that if we must offer both our early picks, we get one of their early picks back somehow.
