  1. What's convenient about the timing of Weed's injury? They could have just dropped him if they thought he wasn't up to scratch. I reckon it's actually pretty inconvenient - he looked good and I was excited about getting a second peek. I doubt our selectors are afraid of making a tough call or two.
  2. Not the worst result from a "don't want to be mean to poor Pedersen" perspective, but pretty sucky from any other perspective I can see. The Weid looked the goods, and I'd have liked to see him get the chance to really consolidate. Big bummer for me.
  3. His next contract will be the big one for his career. He'll be 25 and probably one of the competition's premier defenders then. I expect a 4-5 year deal on big money - he and his management may have taken the view that anything too long this time would eat in to the term of the major one up next.
  4. lol yes - obviously the 'open arms' policy does not apply when you've already been given the boot once.
  5. You're obviously new here.
  6. They also tell the truth.
  7. Dawes, Trengove, Newton, Pedersen, Matt Jones, Terlich, Grimes, and the rookies King, White and Michie. JKH contracted for 2017.
  8. It's hard to believe Tom is only 23. Still just a young man, but sometimes gets marked as a senior member of the team. His name really still belongs in the talented youth group, but he's acting as our back line General.
  9. I'm not though; I generally assume things will work out if the actual machinations are invisible to me. Yes, Scully blindsided me as a result, but I still believe that was an exception rather than the rule.
  10. "I was trying to keep it separate from him, because that’s his deal and mine is mine. But once mine was almost done, I was told Oscar’s was almost done as well and then I was told that it’d be nice to announce them together,” he said. I knew it!
  11. According to Tom in the Burgs article, he never talked to any other clubs or assessed any other offers. Can we please stop assuming that a long negotiation equals player leaving now? Not every player is Tom Scully.
  12. http://m.melbournefc.com.au/news/2016-08-10/two-big-macs-order-a-couple-more
  13. Next game? I'm not done with the last one yet.
  14. See, that to me just makes it even funnier.
  15. Wouldn't it be funny if Tom signed ages ago, and all the delay was waiting for Oscar to sign because the club wanted to announce them together?
  16. No, if anything it sounds like you need to finish the job. Do we win?
  17. I'm amazed that the argument about not selecting Hogan is still going. I just assumed that once everyone came down off the high a bit, we would all return to our senses.
  18. Can anyone be more specific on what their issue was with Garlett on the weekend, other than "form"? I reckon I've seen a dozen posts now wanting to swap him for Kennedy and I don't get it. He played as a HFF on the weekend and was effective, wasn't he?
  19. I thought when you made a crap call on Demonland, you were supposed to go back and edit it as if it never happened? What's this "admitting you got it wrong and having a bit of a laugh about it" business?
  20. Anyone else still sneaking in a watch or two of this where possible? I feel a bit silly given that it's now Wednesday, but I can't help it. If I had time I'd probably watch the whole replay again. The hair on my arms and neck still stands up on the Stretch goal to get us back in front.
  21. Perhaps, although it could also be that the TMac bashers and the TMac lovers(?) are in furious agreement that nobody gives a toss about Tim Watson's opinion on anything.
  22. I don't think it's that safe to say that at all. It could just be selective memory, but I can't recall much conversation around Gawn being delisted.
  23. I had only seen a few of his posts, and was giving him the benefit of the doubt (you might not have had any doubt, but I did). Quick check of his recent post history (honestly, what Melbourne supporter has nothing to say about the match just gone?) and the laugh in your faces comment eliminated any remaining doubt.
  24. You won't get to. Enjoy the permanent ban. To be clear on opposition supporter policy: welcome with open arms, if here for civilized discussion. If you try to 'infiltrate' by stealth and deception, expect to be shown the door. A Melbourne fan who posts in every Essendon related thread, but not one post on the weekend's results. Seems legit.
