  1. What was with that giant oaf from the Gold Coast giving him a clip around the ear and then yelling in his face? Jetta is probably the least deserving player of that kind of treatment in our whole team. It's almost like he wanted the MFC faithful to boo him.
  2. It's how poor form manifests itself for Jack. His intensity goes down and his attack drops. When Hogan is out of form, he drops marks, shanks kicks and sulks. Jack Viney when out of form tries to break a tackle every time he gets the ball. An out of form Nathan Jones gets all his kicks from running around behind other players and hoofing it forward. Lesser players just don't get near the ball when out of form. All players react and respond differently. Watts looked out of touch today, but I don't consider it any more contemptible than any other player who has been out of the game and takes a while to get in the groove. I think your criticism is excessive and unwarranted.
  3. I feel like there is heaps at stake here. I suspect I'm primed to be euphoric or crushed, with not much in between. This is the strongest side we've fielded since round 1 arguably, against a top 4 side, at home. A win keeps us in touch with the top 4, a loss could see us tumble out of the 8. I won't say "no excuses" because we are playing against a good side - getting outclassed again is a possibility. But our best is good enough to beat this mob. I'll be bitterly disappointed if we don't bring something close to it.
  4. Good stuff. He's lost his way a bit recently but it's easy to forget that he's still only 20. It's not unusual for players so young to have fluctuating form. His form early in the year was good, hopefully he can recapture that.
  5. Fantastic - was really hoping this would happen. I said after his injury that I'd have worked straight away towards signing him on again. They already gave him a vote of confidence by drafting him in the first place and he hasn't had the chance to add anything to it. The early(ish) signing reinforces that belief, and means he can focus on recovery, to give it a red hot crack next year, without needing to worry about his future. Well done MFC and good luck Bull!
  6. Flip through my contacts for a Port supporter to bag, realise I don't know a single one of them and just be content with knowing we should play finals.
  7. How much exposure do the kids kicking around in the dev league really get to the AFL system, other than having one or two of the worst players on the list(s) turn up for their games on Saturday? As it is the players in the senior sides don't train with the AFL players; I imagine the dev league players are even further removed.
  8. +1 credibility for @Deestroy All. Learning opportunity for those two inexperienced boys. No surprise that the guy most likely to do as told replaces them. Really excited with those changes: every single one improves the side, with the unexpected surprise of Garlett not withdrawing. Bring it on!
  9. Why don't we have both meme goes here
  10. I'm 33, so too old to be able to blame the internet, it wasn't a thing when I was little. Not big on precision, I just freeze in social situations. I can generally muddle my through a conversation, but I'm usually keen to close it down. I'm actually okay at parties - alcohol helps greatly!
  11. Vince accepts sanctions: http://m.melbournefc.com.au/news/2017-07-18/vince-to-miss-the-next-two-matches
  12. Don't know about the players, but that was the moment I gave up. Such a demoralising error given we had control of the ball and the momentum from the break.
  13. The flipside of this is that without the medium of text, some of us would have no voice. I find I can't gather my thoughts and articulate them quickly enough when discussing verbally, and my brain seizes up in a way that just doesn't happen when writing online. Often I end up saying nothing at all.
  14. The not pulling his weight stuff is garbage anyway. His marking is off at present and his second efforts are lacking, but he was involved heaps on the weekend. He's not hugely off the pace. The answer to his form is to wait. Not to drop him, not to move him to full back, not to trade him to Fremantle, just wait. His confidence is down and he's been out a long time now. A moment will come soon where he will remind us all why he's such a good player. Just a trifle of patience required.
  15. Got to say, while I agree that it's inconsistent and unfair and the MRP hate us and blah blah blah, my predominant thought is that I wish Bernie would keep his limbs under control. This is getting out of hand. This could have all been avoided if he'd kept his elbow to himself.
  16. As someone with dodgy shoulders, it looked like it hurt like f***. Felt for him, he was in agony. They showed him in the rooms watching in a chair on his own (can apparently see the ground from the rooms) and he looked gutted. Can't see him playing again this year, but that's just completely uneducated guesswork from me. To be honest though he'd done precisely zero to that point other than miss an easy goal, so I doubt he'd have been in the team next week regardless.
  17. Just outclassed. Had our share of the ball, but used it poorly, fumbled, couldn't seem to mark the ball, bombs forward to nobody. Had quite a few swings of momentum our way but could never peg back the margin enough to be competitive. Gave away a few junk time goals at the end which was a shame. A few junior players stood up - JKH, ANB and Oliver all very good. Hogan in the second half looked like he was starting to get going, which was pleasing. Looked awful in the first half. Hunt kicked a belter of a goal after the siren at 3/4 time. If nothing else, watch that.
  18. Kicking forward to three Crows defenders. Feels like Roos era footy. The Petracca kick staight to Brown (I think) was a classic case in point. Classic clearance, streams through the middle, nice kick deep forward to... Adelaide. Good question for the 'offensive coordinator' if anyone ever gets the chance to ask. Plugger has played a bit like Tom McDonald in this game. Hogan is only slightly off but it's slightly too much. Not feeling a win in the air in this one. Not writing us off entirely because we've shown we can come back, but I think our opponents are too classy in this instance.
  19. That's a huge credit to Jayden and our fitness staff considering his injury history. I no longer have any reason to believe players might want to leave - in fact I reckon they'd be mad to, but I still love it when important players sign long contracts before their old ones have expired. It's reassuring to know the players are invested.
  20. Hard to believe after the way this quarter started that Essendon are now ahead in it. Well done St Kilda for managing to play half of a quarter.
  21. Ash35 is a bummers fan, CD, so that's who he means by "us". He's a nice Bummers fan though - has posted a lot on here over the years. Be nice.
  22. Oliver had his season low 24 touches against the Swans. Poor game by his standards but still a pretty good game for mere mortals. Agree with your point though. Parish will be a player. Wouldn't be unhappy with him at all if I were in your shoes.
