  1. On selection, Frost has been hopeless for the last two weeks. I'm surprised people are surprised. Can't see them going through the hoopla of naming Brayshaw if he's not playing. Think he'll be joined on the bench by Weid, with two of Harmes, Watts and Maynard competing for the last two places.
  2. MONOCCULAR - WE DONT READ OR SEE EVERY THREAD - WE BROWSE THE FORUM AS PER OUR INTERESTS LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. IF SOMETHING NEEDS ATTENTION, REPORT THE POST AND ALL THE MODS WILL GET A NOTIFICATION, RATHER THAN YELLING IN A THREAD. That was annoying to type on my phone.
  3. I'm not sure if our ability to convince ourselves about literally any bollocks in order to see the upside is my favourite or least favourite thing about Demonland. This thread ?
  4. ? 37 goals to this point in the season puts him in elite company for a small forward. Of course he's going to be given grace for one poor game.
  5. So you're mindlessly regurgitating a rumour you don't believe?
  6. He was woeful, but I'd guess that he's up for selection because he's kicked 37 goals for the season, which makes him our leading goal kicker and most dangerous forward by a long way.
  7. I think if we were to move TMac back, I'd move Frost out rather than OMac. I like Frost's pace but if there isn't a more frightening user of the ball in our side.
  8. Nobody ever seems to be fed up with the club when we win.
  9. Not exactly a change per se, but today's result sets the tone for this match. Winner stays in touch with the 8 (or goes back in if other results suit), the loser perishes. No pressure!
  10. It wasn't cold in Hobart. And I don't just mean relative to normal Hobart conditions - I've frozen my arse off at the MCG enough times to know what cold is at the footy.
  11. Thought the same thing about dropping Frost and putting TMac back. Would consider picking Weid.
  12. So? He's been out of form. Surely an improvement in form is noteworthy independently of the scoreboard.
  13. Lifted significantly in the second half.
  14. Good one. Goes around again next week on that performance. Good to see the boys get around him for his goal.
  15. He's right, though. He was right when we were 5th, too. The message is no less true just because you are crabby. Reminds me of whoever it is who always said it's never as bad or as good as it seems.
  16. To be fair, they show 5 seconds of a 20 minute break. While I think leadership in games like this is a valid question to ask, I'd be careful about drawing conclusions from such anecdotal evidence.
  17. Too many players gave us little to nothing until it was far too late, including but not limited to Garlett, Hunt, Petracca, Jones and Viney. With that in mind, I'm looking forward to how this thread will all be centred around how terrible Lewis, OMac and Watts were (admittedly, the latter was terrible in the first half). If Demonland crashes tonight, I'm outta here.
  18. Weideman is a key forward - his main mode of contest should be aerially. It's pretty hard to lay a tackle when you're 4 feet in the air flying for the ball. That's not to say he's exempt from tackling or there's not room for improvement, just that I'd never expect huge numbers. 2 a game would put him up there with the likes of Tex Walker.
  19. I thought on the day JKH was one who looked likely to actually make good position and move the ball forward with purpose. I wouldn't drop him. ANB and Hannan were worst on by miles, but prior to that game had been playing well. In: Jones, Vince Out: Hogan, Trengove I haven't read the Casey reports yet but happy to consider the better of Pedersen and Weid if we think we need another tall forward in. ANB or Hannan to go if this is the case.
  20. How come you had to print the tickets? I just flashed my tickets on my phone and they used a paper one to operate the gate.
  21. Thought from the ground that Lewis was one of the better players.
  22. Well, I had a crap day. The footy sucked. Blundstone Arena sucks. How good is it that there are seats where it's physically impossible for 7 year olds to see? And which quarter would you like to miss while you get food? Such a shit game day experience. Then Demonland crashed after the game. Brilliant!
  23. Gale in our direction this q guys. Very confident here. Unbelievable the way the ball travelled that q.
  24. Just giving the most optimistic but still plausible outcome. Good luck :-)
