  1. We need a big 195cm+ key defender more than a KP forward. At least Newton gives us some hope and Bater isn't 195cm but he is doing a damn fine job for a 3rd year player playing CHF. We have no defender over 194cm (Not including Dutchy he won't be at the club next year).
  2. I just hope we secure a coach ASAP so they can settle in and start list management and meeting the players straight away.
  3. Campbell is a tall forward for Freo. I'd love to have Ryan Murphy, but Campbell is an unknown quantity. Murphy will be a very, very good player.
  4. I love him as it has been said, because of his passion for the club. I remember this year against the Kangas, 1st quarter we were playing like crap, one of our few inside 50s went to Robbo who went back (This was his first game back since Round 2) and slotted it and grabbed the jumper and tried to spur on a few of his teammates. Along with Neita and Junior, he's the guy I want us to win a flag for the most.
  5. Ah very nice. Love the Cloke bit at the start.
  6. Hopefully he uses his time off to learn to deal with his anger because it is hurting the team.
  7. So if he gets suspended here and there that's OK? He played well last night but I'd rather him win us games than kick junk time goals. And what our players do off the field is none of our business and shouldn't impact what they do ON the field, which is the most important thing to me as a supporter. Some of you people are clueless if you are condoning this action.
  8. A legend? Get real. A very good player in his prime who ended his career in a poor fashion as the years went by he became softer and lazier.
  9. Yes, we play AFL. And professionals don't let their anger loose like that. Flash is only hurting himself and the team, I hope he cops a few weeks so he learns something from it. Since the St. Kilda final last year his discipline has been poor on the field. He needs to focus on the ball. And when Jaded says he nearly cost us the game, he nearly did. Gave away a 50 that cost a goal then gave away another in the same last quarter.
  10. WCE or Hawks. condemned_84, my best mate also supports the Cats, but I want to keep it over him that we've won a flag more recently than they have .
  11. I'm not expecting huge things with a bunch of kids, but I'm not going to accept getting pasted like that, and I don't think Riley will either. Kudos to CJ, good to see him play well and hopefully he plays out the year. On Bate, deanox you're spot on about his acceleration, he is quite quick when he gets speed up but his acceleration is poor, as is McLean's.
  12. He played well but I'd like to see him play out the year with this form or something close to it. I'd rather Neita retain the captaincy and Chook get it in 2009.
  13. You contradicted yourself there. I would argue within 2 years time those 3 players all could possibly be superstars, especially McLean and Sylvia.
  14. I'm really starting to think about Davey in the future after another stupid act on the field. Flash, either fix your temper or find a new club.
  15. What exactly did they say about our kids? Because I'm sick of them getting no recognition (i.e Jones not getting a Rising Star nomination) and teams like Collingwood get all the attention when our kids are better than theirs. I don't want Frawley anywhere near the panel. Would much rather Parkin.
  16. But that's the point. He's not going to win much of his own hard ball because he is so small. Give him a loose ball to chase and he'll get it 10/10 times, but he doesn't have the strength to win the hard ball. Around the ground he has to run all day long and naturally wouldn't be as quick as he normally would because he'd have to develop a bigger tank and would lose some pace as a result. Up forward he could have less of a tank but retain his pace. I think he can play well in big games but he won't win the clearance that gets the ball down there nor will he win the hard ball. Soft he could be called, but he's just not that type of player.
  17. He has to play as a small forward for the majority of the time. Around the ground he can be tagged out of the game easily because I love him but he can't win a hard ball to save himself as he's so small. In the F50 if he's crumbing he won't be caught over a 40-50m run so he just has to time his run around the packs.
  18. I personally wouldn't care at all about the accolades for the players as long as they have premiership medals.
  19. I don't see much of Buckley as I only see Sandy sparingly on ABC and live in rural Victoria, I was wondering how quick is he actually? I don't mean in terms of 20m sprint times, but in comparison to other AFL players.
  20. I personally think it is a better option with the way we play to continue to play our normal style in close games, because what gets me is, for example we're 10 points up, 2 minutes to go in the 3rd, why ice the clock when we could possibly score another goal and extend our lead?
  21. Definitely keep. We wouldn't get a whole lot for him and he's very handy playing on the wing.
  22. He is actually very quick when you watch him. Against Carlton he started 10m behind Kade Simpson and nearly caught him. I have been saying he COULD be better than Brock for a while simply due to the fact that he has so much raw ability, but whether he will we won't know for a couple more years yet. I simply cannot wait till McLean, Sylvia, Moloney and Jones are fully fit and in the midfield.
  23. Agree on White's taps, he is average at best in that area.
  24. He has barely played 50 games and is 21. Let's be realistic, as good as he was last year he is now copping the opposition's best tagger week in week out. In 2008 when our midfield is fully fit with Beamer, Bruce, Green and TJ back and Sylvia continuing his improvement he'll have it a lot easier because the opposition can't tag them all.
