  1. Funny you say that.... an expat mate of mine ( a Dee tragic too ) watches from his US home. I mentioned the umpiring was ... well.. totally !%$@'d .. he also retorted.. a few came back too. The balance though firmly in their favour. He also saw what I saw... how often the umps were so super quick with their whistles they were practically prescient 😉
  2. Understanding umpiring is actually very straightforward Red... its simple , it's black and white ....
  3. Free Collingwood... obviously..
  4. This won't be a popular idea as it will seem far too rah rah rah for some. I would be engaging some advice from Military Trainers. They are very well versed in what motivates and drives people. They also understand its not about training people to do "X" but its as much about showing people to reach beyond and attain "Y" . Qualities such as Resilience, Fortitude, Rapid and Lateral thinking will never go astray. Ideas about different forms of leadership, about self evaluation and development and I could go on. A sporting field , a combative sport , requiring both team and individual efforts... there are parallels. We seem very hesitant as a group. The idea of 'learnings' .. hmmm 🤔 Yes still much to learn... Someone suggested learning to win.... that's always a good one 👍
  5. Doc is that the preferred priority ?
  6. Nothing to see and crickets out of the commentators.... how surprising.
  7. "If can get on park" See what you did there..
  8. Boggles the mind how many times we let teams catch up to us by doing nothing. Take it on ff s .. make their defence sweat.. put THEM under pressure... we have the ball... USE it !! Bloody hell we stand around like dorks at a dance !!
  9. You're probably right but that does possibly say more about our dilemma than encouraging our prospects. He's unfortunately very one dimensional in a 3D game 🥴
  10. Just checked ... seems you are indeed correct.
  11. Of the 2 seasons immediately post flag I can see where an argument can be had for... but but... we did 'this'.. we got 'there'. It's a seductive stance i grant you. But if we kinda apply the "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me" filter then if the 1st season gets a ... "well we did OK really " stamp the second most certainly can not. A battle cry ne mantra has been "Learnings " Did we not realise how we almost lost that GF ? Seems not as it was our ultimate undoing in 22. Did we then not learn from 22 in 23 ? Again seems not as it was all but spin repeat. And to he honest I'm fiik what we really learnt in 24 and this year save we might be morphing towards doing some things right but we still do a hell of a lot wrong. So, generously, I'll grant you 22 as not being a failure. ( certainly not a success ) but 23/24/25 .. well a rose by any other name ....etc etc. All water under the bridge now. Let's all look forward to new beginnings and some success and growth in 26 Go us
  12. Well you would think , should we get this Caulfield thing all sorted our main focus for training would be the Racetrack. Doesn't mean we disenfranchise ourselves from Casey.. just mean the Seniors would seldom need it. Casey would... ( you'd presume ) . Still.. long time down the track... not thinking I'll care much...if at all 🙄
  13. Well to be blunt, Sharp is....
  14. Must be a rare occurrence on Dland .... nearly everyone in agreement... This kid can play 👍
  15. Probably wrote the write up before the game 😉
  16. Yes , perhaps wiser heads would have prevailed.... ( the ones this side of the boundary 😉 )
  17. Left field thinking..... I like this
  18. Possibly the disparity is more aligned to expectations rather than preferences.. We'll find out soon enough.
  19. Maybe something the coach(s) can educate players on is better thinking. Now I'm not going to lay the loss at Milky's feet but I will lob a brickbat his way. He wasn't that far out on a non problematic angle and he like many others these days chose to kick 'around' the corner. For mine at that location is a dumb choice. He missed. He's missed a few from similar spots. Later he had a shot.. further out.. similar angle... DROP PUNT.... goal !! Can we please make better choices kicking for goal
  20. Let's hope so
  21. I mentioned to another.. that particular goal from 50.. had the confidence, the composure and he can kick. With great aplomb sized it up... bang. Sublime stuff.
  22. Pretty much agree. I see 26 as a sorting out year, transitional in a way. Better than this year but setting groundwork for a fair crack in 27. Go us
