  1. I have distant memories of talking footy here once. Might grab a Banana smoothie and reminisce.
  2. Strangely Stuie Ill agree with most of this in as much as you cant discuss something you know nothing or little about.Years ago I actually read the Quran. Came away thinking theres a lot of books in the wrong part of the Library !! For the most part it, Quran, is just anothers viewpoint and interpretation of belief and surrendering to a religions directive. There are fanatics from many beliefs. The current lot of Sharia inspired loonies is todays winner of mentally vacant despots. The Spanish inquisition says hi
  3. Stuie... when these extremists start their murderous exploits with 'Allahu akbar " are we supposed to be in any doubt as to which version of religious dogma they're invoking ?My previous point suggested a Jew would not indulge pork nor celebrate Christmas as thats not their belief. To do so would violate their ideals. An Islamic extremist going nuts is not necessarily doing the same . For they believe they are taking the Quran (or passages thereof ( to their inevitable destiny.i.e Not contradicting it...but enacting it. A fundamental difference I would have thought.
  4. and on the seventh day......
  5. Thats like saying Jew bought some Pork to have for Christmas.Neither is plausible as its fundamentally opposite to the core beliefs held. A vegetarian who eats meat is simply enlightened
  6. Just as clarity though. A Catholic who is radical/extreme is surely a Catholic extremist for he is no other. A Muslim who is radical/extreme must also by such distinct association be an Islamic extremist. Not saying either necessarily represents either's mainstream following for again , extremist by definition is one taking it to another level but they are of those respective religious following. Just saying.
  7. suicide bombers seem to have a particular favourite though eh

  15. Hip problem alone is enough !! lol
  16. of course sometimes the more one drinks...the more others seem interesting !
  17. Seems there were Layered leather as well as wooden stops, nailed to the sole. Kinda interesting as a topic unto itself...."our footy boots !!"
  18. youre right...nails... I only remember the other side..the prong. Your mentioning of the inspecting of boots rings a bell
  19. from Wiki Australian rules football[edit]In Australia, the studs on Australian rules football boots are traditionally referred to as "stops".[1] Prior to modern molded plastic soles, these were often replaceable screw-in wooden studs. Now mine weren't screw in..they had prongs that were nailed into the sole and I imagine bent over inside with the innersole protecting Lots of different types it seems
  20. They were wooden stops Bbo.. sort of a ply. Cork ? Be fn useless
  21. 56..they were wooden BBO and they were replaced twice. The last time with those new fangled placky ones !!
