I'll never not follow Melbourne, but I sure as [censored] prefer the way other teams play the game. But you are right, I have lost some interest, and that's in the game as a whole, I use to watch lots of games and AFL tv shows, now I go on demonland and follow a little bit of content on twitter, watch the Dees and maybe have another game or two on in the back ground.

I’ve never liked a Goodwin and I never will. That said, he has had a few good coaching years and some bad, but the last few I’ve hated as you could see the way the game was trending and he still sat with a too tall, slow moving team and implemented a bland game of football. It’s like being forced to only eat boiled white rice for every meal because you have the constant runs. This team, is bland, it’s boring and it favours a union rugby maul more than skill. I pretty much never go to games anymore, it’s not worth the long drives and costs, and yeah I felt this way when we were winning, but the wins glossed over it a bit. I’ve been a member for 30yrs and would attend 15+ games even during the Neeld years, but now I have zero care to go to a Melbourne game. will we start winning games? Maybe. Do I think so… nope. I think 5 wins maximum this year. Will we stay bland and boring. I reckon so.

The best thing about Saturdays game is I'm out all day and will not see 1 second of it. If we win I'll watch a replay Sunday morning, if we lose then I've not had an afternoon of frustration :)

Jussi was a star. Ever underrated, but always loved at the Reebok. Andd you are right we played some wonderful football, but even then, Big Sam loved the long ball.

Oh I don’t know, I’ve followed Bolton a long time and we were the masters of 10 behind the ball, hack it long to Kevin Davies and then hope he can hold while the rest amble up to reinforce… I mean that sound familiar…

No matter the injuries the games style should largely stay the same, and our games style is still slow slow slow, bomb long, no matter who is playing. The only time we ever look good and fast is a fast break centre clearance that usually results in a shot from 50-35 out and very rarely a pass to a leading forward.

Goodwins game plan is outdated and if we are meant to not bomb it long (doubt it) then the players aren’t listening to the coaches, so it’s either a shizen boring game plan or the players don’t care to play to his game plan. And nothing I have seen over the season so far inc Praco matches leads me to believe that we are not a slow chip kick, long down the boundary line team, then blast it long to the pocket in the f50. So which is it? Players ignoring the game plan? Or Goodwin is lying about the game plan? Either way is bad, either way leads to a horrible spectacle for people to sit through.

Look, let’s face it, today’s performance was as good as Goodwins wedding outfit.

I just tried to turn my tv back on and it’s now died, I think it was afraid I might watch the replay.

The loss is bad enough. But we are boring to watch, we are a slow, stop start side that has no strengths outside of contested possessions and when teams matchup it equals a loss. it’s been this way for years and Goodwin said we were changing our game plan up and we haven’t changed a single thing. I don’t enjoy watching us play, even when we win it’s slow, sluggish and bland, just like the coach wants. Strap in people cos nothing will change, Essendon will get a top 5 pick from us and we will do it all again next year with the same promises.

Yeah someone younger who has an attacking mindset, I can't watch this slow boring [censored] anymore, North have been a better team to watch than us. Goodwin has one coaching style and he has refused to change it for years. We are boring, we won't get crowds to watch this crud but we will be stuck with him cos the club loves him and they won't sack him.

Lucky North didn’t capitalise early in the qtr, Chin, Oliver, Rooter started well. things changed towards the end of the qtr, we seemed to take the game on more which is lovely to see.

5 mins in, should be 2-3 goals down, getting beaten around the stoppages. Game plan still seems long around the boundary and be as slow and boring as ever before. I thought we were trying to get with the modern game?
