Cheers for the tip WJ! Look forward to it, enjoyed his DL and Open Mike interviews in the past.

Get us back to the finals then build from there in 2021. Took two steps back last year.

Still yet to receive my personalised Maxy card which I paid extra for. Oh well

These lists tend to get pretty warped but with Plough being a boyhood Melbourne fan you could do a lot worse.

Snr was the most talented to ever play the game and was probably what the game is all about. However the consistency of Jnr and professionalism is now what the game is about. The problem is though there have been many players like Jnr and although he may be one of the best there has NEVER been a player like Snr.

Yeah I really liked it and listened to it probably 10 times the first day. Over the weekend a friend cranked Invincible in his car with his fairly sweet sound system. Classic Tool. Do I put it ahead of Aenema or Lateralus? No. Still very good though.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
layzie replied to Tinks's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think it’s a good get, minimum risk high reward. Unless you subscribe to the theory that he’ll destroy the culture. -
While I’d really love to say something like he’s just a grandstander trying to be mayor and needs to concentrate more on media he does make some good points.
-
What is Conor’s next fight? Khabib? Floyd? Gaethe? Masvidal? Diaz 3? Usman? Pacquiao? The list goes on. I personally think he would not beat Khabib in a rematch, we’ll see.

Such a dumb idea and total waste of time. We’ve already got one complete failure of an international fixture. Get out of town (or back in town)

This stat doesn’t surprise me at all. It should also be a $50 fine to anyone who even mouths the scenario of Jack Watts kicking one after the siren to beat us even if just a joke.

24 hrs have passed and I suffice to say I haven’t been in a great mood today. Not feeling like facing it but if you ride high with the successes you gotta front up in the down times (Much like MFC). Been listening to a lot of San Fran talkback radio today and it seems the general consensus is to find 1 single thing to place the blame on. All I can really say is that it doesn’t exist, there’s a few reasons collectively but if fans want a bottom line to justify their misery they are barking up the wrong tree. Kyle Shanahan - Generally good play calling as he has done all year. The doubt seemed to creep in an was caught in two minds before the half. I think if you want to go with an attitude towards a game it has to be consistent. You either decide the points you have are not enough and that you need before especially considering the opposition or you protect what you have and keep running the ball. Kyle trusts Jimmy G but did he trust him 100% with every fibre of his being to go and win it like Reid would with Mahomes? I’m not sure. Deebo Samuel was hot in the first half, he needs to touch the ball more than twice in the second. Mostert could have touched it more at 20-10 up as well but hindsight always wins. We lost our dare a bit but for people to blame Kyle solely and call him an idiot play caller is pretty stupid considering this idiot was a massive part in us getting to a Super bowl. Partial blame. Jimmy G - I’ve heard about 5 completely different assessments on his game ranging from sh*thouse to played his heart out to if he hits Sanders and we win he gets MVP. My assessment is he played reasonably well and for the most part did what we wanted but went to pieces in the 4th. Speaking of the ball thrown to Sanders it was a disappointing overthrow as it really gave him no chance to even get a potential PI call. Jimmy actually outplayed Mahomes in the first 3 quarters but here is the kicker: He struggles with blitzes, he has this terrible habit of watching the receiver off the line and subsequently telegraphing his throw and the one that really hurts is the number of open receivers he missed on the night. The Kittle one was the most obvious but I counted at least 5 open men on underneath routes that he simply didn’t see. This is why I can’t totally blame Kyle and these things just have to be rectified if he is the guy for the future. I’ve heard some dumb things this morning about wanting to trade him, is he a top 5 QB in the league? No. But he is absolutely a top 10 QB in the league and anyone who thinks otherwise and says something stupid like we should trade him and get a certain 43 y.o native to the area should just remove their head from their rear end immediately. Partial blame The defense and that 3rd and 15 play - Once again this sport seems to get two completely different opinions on whether someone or a unit is playing well or not. My mate thought our defense had under performed considering the hype. The contrary in my opinion, we played our game plan the exact way we needed to against a generation talent at QB and some serious weapons including a literal track sprinter. The secondary kept these receivers in front of them, Buckner and Bosa totally balled out. But THAT play I can’t get my head around. Mosley went to pick up Watkins when really he just needed to stand his ground, this led to Jimmy Ward needing to turn and the rest was history, the momentum swung and we couldn’t get it back. It’s a play you just need to make to be champions, we didn’t. But you can’t fault the defense as a whole on the day. Mosley will be kicking himself but there is a very small amount of blame there and I imagine he would learn from it big time. Officiating - Nope, nothing to see here. The game was reffed very well in my opinion. Kittle at the end of the half, yes it was OPI. Couple of no calls in the game that might have helped either side and maybe a 50-50 that didn’t go our way but there’s never been a game called perfectly. Not accepting anyone saying that the refs cost us, sorry. No blame And then there’s the age old line which is pretty much correct in every big NFL game. The other team made the plays when they counted, we didn’t. Such is life.

It's a bit of a loss, definitely gave a good side to a discussion, would like to see another ex coach in there. I'd suggest Ross Lyon but I'd also assume watching paint dry would be a more pleasurable experience.

It's not for everyone that's for sure!

There will be plenty and quite a few of my Niners friends will be there. I'll be at Kicks in Elizabeth St but if we win I may end up at Beer Deluxe who knows!
-
From all accounts he was as regular a guy as they come and always great to chat with. My new Kittle jersey won't make it from the states in time so I'll be rocking the Terrell Owens circa 2000 piece

There's no real winner out of this. Maybe on paper and business decisions there is but in the game of life where most of us play there isn't. It's terrible news to hear Jesse is struggling and I hope like hell he can get through this along with his injury issues and get back to building a footy career or follow whatever he wants to do in life. I don't make a habit of cheering for ex players but I really hope this one works out.

Gee forgot about that! Many pubs gonna be open at 7:30 over there? ?

Did not know that about you mate! Great to hear, unfortunately I just missed out on the best of the Montana years Steve Young was my guy. Would love nothing more than the Dees emulating this rise.

Massive 49ers fan and proof that things can be accomplished in a short space of time with the right people in charge and the right mindset going forward.

For me it has to be Sam Weideman. Might be slightly left field to some and people will use his age as a crutch but it’s time to step up and show everyone what he is capable of. May is definitely going to have the eyeballs on him.
