  1. The problem is the runners that get involved too much and stay on for longer than necessary. Not quite at the ditch them level yet but getting there.

What a Superbowl! Always seems to come down to little moments and the Brady fumble was one of them. Game of inches. On to free agency and the draft which can sometimes be as exciting as the games. Stoked my 49ers have locked up Jimmy G for 5 years. Paid up big but that’s what it takes now to get a franchise signal caller. Gonna be a great battle in the NFC West for years to come with Mcvay-Goff and Shanahan-Garoppolo. Pete Carroll and the Seahawks will have their work cut out!
  3. I’m trying desperately to temper my expectations this year, last year hurt a heck of a lot. But at the same time the wait has been long and the list is getting better. I want to be excited but I don’t know if I want the heart in mouth sick feeling at games as much this year. Ah well, let the chips fall where they may..
  4. Thank you for this info Danelska. It does seem to be a philosophy that you become more attuned to the more exposure you have to it.
  5. This is a subject I've personally tried to dabble in to varying success. I even did a 30 day meditation challenge last year. I do feel like there is something to it and many benefits to come out of it but I've yet to really see these. The mindfulness meditation I had been trying was having the awareness on the breath and I guess exercising consciousness. I would like to try this again and am glad there's a few good recommendations on this thread. If anyone has some more good tips don't be afraid to let us know.
  6. Cheers for that Jnrmac. And as expected, it was the game I was thinking of.
  7. Don't suppose you remember what year this was? For some reason I'm keen to hunt down footage and see this.
  8. There's definitely gotta be more to him than that run and leap for us to consider him. With Watts gone I'd really like a reliable kick for goal so if anyone can comment on his set shooting that would be appreciated. I suppose you're doing alright with 73 goals. Having said all this our club has a proud history of guys who can take a screamer, we should have one in the side at all times
  9. I think we did ok in this trade period. Not brilliant but we were certainly active in trying to improve the list. Slight overs for Lever but I see it as one of those calculated risks teams in our position need to make in order to make the jump. We could have stood firm and not budged on the two 2017 picks but it might have given another club like St Kilda a chance to gazump us with a better offer which the crows would have gladly taken. Slightly unhappy about the Watts trade mainly because we're paying part of the salary but the market dictated the pick we got. Geelong weren't willing to part with 21 so we took what we could get. I am sad to see him go of course but I will no doubt be going to games next year, no player is bigger than the club, period.
  10. Welcome Harley! Really hope he can be a bit of a surprise packet for us. Just needs to get those mental issues sorted and hopefully his wrist has been mended, from what I hear it severely limited his ability for weights work and training.
  11. Definitely got unders on this one. The Lever deal was more necessary although would have liked to hold firm on the 2018 first rounder but this? I liked the idea of maybe Watts + 36 for 31 and 34.
  12. I'm looking forward to the moving on part. We've had to deal with this polarizing rubbish for too long.
  13. It feels like NYE counting down the minutes to his departure
  14. Calculated risk. Hope he stays injury free and helps lead our backline for years to come! Welcome Jake!
  15. I've jumped between the two sides of keep or kick in the last few days but this is kind of how I felt after reading what Roos said as well. Couldn't help but roll my eyes when it came to the part about him not being a player you could bring straight back in. Give me a spell. Were we supposed to give Jack 6 weeks off for his hammy?
  16. Love Roos but he's not inside the 4 walls anymore so his point is moot.
  17. Yep, this thread is pathetic and once again people can't separate football from personal lives. Lyon speaks his mind on the club as he sees fit. Why does every ex player have to be a cerimonial yes man? And speaking of Richo I like the guy but what exactly did he do for RFC to help them win that flag? Not speaking a bad word about his former club might just be why he's not as good a media figure as Lyon or Lloyd. Oh yeah by the way Ling spoke out saying the Cats should be weary getting Ablett. Should he be lynched on GFC forums? Give me a spell
  18. Thanks DL. 2017 was a year I returned to the forums more consistently. Still the best place to talk Dees.
  19. This has to be a trick question surely! (I understand the reason for asking it) I would buy my membership regardless of who is in the team. As far as list management goes I don't think its an excuse to stop. No player is bigger than the club, ever.
  20. You have to say that what you see is what you get with Jack. In some ways its probably what has made him a popular bloke with teammates and fans. As a person he wears his heart on his sleeve, is loyal and has good values. He's not one to string people along with smoke screen statements and probably wouldn't dream of hurting the club. Of course he could always come out tomorrow and decide he wants to be traded but I've just noticed this as he's probably one of the most honest people in the game. Would have a terrible poker face.
  21. They probably get a pass in these situations but you have to admit it looks a bit strange. Just remember the club that pays your wages.
