  1. The selectors have spent the last 2 years looking for a spin bowler to replace S K. The Top order has been sadly neglected, and now it's in need of the complete rebuild. Clarke should have been dropped. Ponting should be batting at 5-6. Cameron White & Ferguson should have been given an extended chance to prove themselves throughout the past year. Watson has done a stirling job as an opener, but it's not his spot. Which is why he goes out for 50-60, he cannot maintain concentration past that point. He should be batting further down. This has also ruined the chances of Hughes-Being picked on his current form has all but buried his baggy green-That has been a terrible oversight by the selectors. Hughes has one more innings to resurrect himself There's a good start RR, although i know you will disagree, but hey i expect that.
  2. Aah i see it has turned interesting-Been out all morning doing Christmas shopping. So Johnson has fired up i am guessing-Cool. I still say the selectors need to go because of our rusty old Top order, but its good to see the Tail is having a red hot Crack. Yes and it is a funny old game-and there will be more lessons learnt in the next 2 1/2 days. Which is why i hate 20/20 so much. B) Edit: Wow just saw a scorecard Johnson 4-7!! Wish i had seen that...Whatever Mitchell did in the Carpark last week must have worked!!! Not suprised though after his batting yesterday...he looked hungry again.. Will the Poms Tail wag??
  3. apparently they found it in the nets last week!! How else could he be recalled??
  4. So what will Johnson do as a bowler now? Is he going to Fire? Is the Mojo back?
  5. "One foot in the Grave...." excellent British humour...i kid you not B)
  6. I really hope they select a completely different batting line up to the test XI, Bowling is not so crucial. This pitch today is a beauty, nothing wrong with it!!
  7. Why did Haddin go for the Slog day 1 of a test Match, when a long careful innings is needed? Todays players really don't understand Test cricket sadly. Too much 20/20 i fear. Test players should not be allowed to play 20/20 in a perfect world.!!! Grrr
  8. As if!!! A victorian Batsman playing for Australia. It's against Hilditch's religion obviously!!!
  9. Hehehe You spoke to early HT. i threw out the bath water about 2 hours ago, that said the Australian Top order should be ashamed, the way Haddin and Hussey played those boundries the pitch is not to blame.
  10. 4 overs from Tait might still help us out at the moment, i think that is all he feels his body can give.
  11. I admire your optimism HT, but with our bowling attack i cannot see it. I wonder what Mitchell Johnson will dish up. Will he be switched on or not Bat and ball. Since the stoush with his mum he just hasn't been right.
  12. 5/69 what a shambles...oh well at least heads will now roll from the top down.... Hilditch and co must register at centrelink monday morning!!!
  13. Billy Birmingham certainly appreciated the selection criteria of the Commentary Box since 1978. B)
  14. So David Hussey is wasting his time today is he?? Unbelievable that Hilditch & co don't even give him a chance to stake a claim on a spot, whilst playing the English side!! Not Happy Jan (at all)
  15. If i had wished to name all those champions i would have done so. In my above post i mentioned the coach because i believe his loss has been under rated. Very astute man Buchanan.
  16. You underestimate the role Buchanan played within the side, i am not disputing the Champions all left, I do think the Domestic Competition has not been used widely enough.
  17. Not disputing he didn't get hit for a score..but he took 12 wickets, that is more than luck. He deserved longer time to develop, i mean we haven't got any further up till today have we sadly. This is my whole point. Selection has been conservative and preferred to tread water rather than Risk Take. After losing such a plethora of champions in a 2 year span, i would prefer to take the Risk Taking stance. I don't think Hauritz will ever take 12 wickets for playing for Australia-i wish he had, but i don't think he cuts it at top level. Maybe Krejza was incredibly lucky in that innings, But there was something there the Indians couldn't read, and they play spin better than any other nation.
  18. why? I have never stated i wish to pick the side-i do not have access to all the info, and please do not send it to me if you have it all there, as i am at work now ok. I am allowed my opinion of the Pathetic state of Australian Cricket-if you disagree fine. So be it. This is a discussion Board. You guys look at stats. I look at the body language of the Australian Xl-The team is old tired & burnt out like a Beautiful car that has never been serviced properly, that is now in need of the Complete Major Engine rebiuld, including the chassis. Seems to me when Jon Buchanan (spelling??) stopped being coach, The Australian camp (selectors & Team) lost the main man, and they are still recovering.
  19. sure the figures are not great, but as you say 8 for and then 4 for, i believe he should have been persisted with. Many a spin bowler has been carted to the boundry in Perth, It is all hindsight, but i think big mistakes have been made over a long period of time, combined with bad luck, to bring us to right now. Rock Bottom was hit today.
  20. This is our only chance of Beating the English this summer.... B)
  21. Fair enough, those matches must have been played at the same time, i didn't watch the Ch 9 debacle, was it Tim Paine who was injured that night? Both injuries were crucial Blows. Spin Bowlers often go for runs early in there career, but when you bag an 8 for, it's still going to be a low score overall. Krejza was very poorly treated IMO.
  22. I agree, a very mystifying decision,a guy takes 8 wickets bowling for australia & then is literally Turfed out...without explanation. Brad Hodge another. Sad timing about McDonald, but once again pathetic Fixturing, that stupid ch 9 celebrity match!!! The lead up to this series has been just so bad. England meanwhile played 4 day games to get ready...
  23. Now that's just beng silly RR, an attempt at Humour. No i am not expecting Draft picks, but i do believe the selectors have done too little for too long. And now we have really hit the wall with a Bang. it shall be entertaining to observe....
  24. series is all over by December 7 before lunch....., i think that says it all really. I just wish the same philosophy is put into the Australian cricket side as was done to the MFC over the past 4 years. Everybody seemed to fully agree to that, But with cricket, it is too conservative. That is my opinion & i shall be sticking to it. At present the Batsmen cannot post a defendable score & the Bowlers can't take wickets. That is the facts, but continue to bag me, i find it quite humorous really. RR i shall reply to your PM when i get some time to do it properly, it is worth 100% concentration.
  25. if you don't think Ponting is a major Selector at Present HT, that is just Niave my friend. Ponting has had a big say for a long time, sadly too long. And it is now back firing on him.
